Very nice old house, with great design. Clean and comfy bedsThe team is super welcoming, and helpful. The food is good too, and we were happily surprised with the western breakfast!We really appreciated our stay! Highly recommended.

We chose this Guesthouse because we wanted to experience a little of the countryside after the hustle and bustle of Chinese cities. The Lost World more than exceeded our expectations. Our suite was so comfy and spacious we had to drag ourselves out to go exploring. It was well worth it though, the Wind-and-Rain Bridges and Drum Towers scattered aroud the 5 villages are beautiful. The guesthouse itself is stunning too. How amazing that somebody has preserved these ancient wood buildings, thoughtfully and lovingly restoring them into modern guest rooms that still maintain the heart and soul of the original houses. This truly was a chance to experience a Lost World

What an absolutely unique and delightful property! It was a pleasure to stay here and experience a bit of history. These buildings have been carefully and lovingly restored through the efforts of the property owner and a dedicated architect—both men were at the homestay during my visit, which was a treat. Comfy bed, delicious food, lovely and attentive staff—if you need anything, just ask. I enjoyed just wandering around and getting lost in the village. Oh yes, I do not speak Chinese and traveled alone, but the owner speaks perfect English and contacted me in advance of my stay. He added me on WeChat and was hugely supportive in getting me to Chengyang and Lost World from Longji area. The staff were ready with Baidu translator so communication was a breeze.

Lost World is a collection of uniquely renovated authentic traditional buildings strewn amongst the local dwellings of Ma'an village in Chenyang. Every room is distinctly different and retains the traditional wooden feel of Dong architecture. If you like the idea of staying in a living village, with a window on local life, this is a perfect option and quite a rare gem.||||We stayed in the family suite which is in it's own building with balconies on both floors overlooking the surrounding rice fields and vegetable gardens. A perfect place to sit and watch local life go by. Outside the building is one of the best local wine shops we have come across in China...make sure you drop in for a tasting (or two!) with the friendly owner.||||There's great paths from the buildings throughout the village, through market gardens, rice field, drum towers and the famous Chenyang wind and rain bridge. A great base to explore the surrounding countryside and villages.

We've lived in China for over 7 years and have travelled extensively. This is one of the most enjoyable stays we've experienced. Our room was in an old Dong Minority wooden house with a balcony overlooking a rice field. The room had been restored to a very authentic and high standard. Along with the authenticity came the creature comforts - excellent shower, comfy beds, very good air conditioning, safe etc etc - all finished off to a very high standard. Service was warm, friendly and excellent throughout. Quality coffee (rare in these parts)and a good breakfast. We felt privileged to be living in such comfort in such an unspoiled and historic local village. |If you go there, walk to the village of Pingtan and then follow the stream out of the village. It opens out into the most beautiful valley of rice terraces and tea. 3/4 of the way up the valley, take the right hand fork and walk up for 20/30 minutes. There are amazing views.

We stayed at the Deluxe Family Suite, which actually is a 2 story, private little house overlooking the rice fields and the village. It's a beautiful designed place and we fell in love with it instantly!||||Great eye for comfort:||||- The bed was hands down the most comfortable bed we had slept in in a long time;||- The shower is spacious, great water pressure and nice wooden board to stand on;||- A massive covered terrace with comfy chairs and even a reading/relax seat.||- Fridge, sofa, bath tub.||||Detail:||||- The nice local artworks on the wall;||- The overall traditional design and woodwork.||||And service:||||Xiao Chen is the lady who takes care of everything:||- She met us when we got off the park-bus and guided us to the hotel;||- Great source of information about the area;||- A big bonus was the fact that dinner was served every night at our own covered terrace at the room!||||We love to get back here again to sit on the lovely terrace and wonder around the beautiful area.

Lost world, perfect name for this lovely and cozy place in the heart of Chengyang. In this village, you will feel lost in time. Those majestic bridges boarded by shimmering rice field are simply breathtaking. The room of Lost world is cute, authentic and really comfortable. The team is really attentive to details from A to Z, super proactive and dedicated to the guest. Just don’t hesitate.
