The hotel is very conveniently located to the beach and still close the city. Lao Long Tou was a 30 minute taxi ride. Whilst the restaurant is tasty, it caters for Chinese and western cuisine is limited. Not a problem if you enjoy Chinese cuisine :)

The hotel is a 5 Starr rated. The rooms are very nice. The staff are friendly and were helpful but are not English speaking. The room service and laundry service were very good and easy to use. The beach is across the road and great for jogging along the board walk. There is a sports complex next door which hosts soccer games which I was able to attend. The fitness center is ok but not all the machines were working when I visited.

As Shangrila was fully booked, we decided to try this one. Good front-beach location, we booked a junior suite. Rooms are very big, well decorated and furnished. We managed to get a baby bed, however now extra-bedding available for the oldest one. Our rooms had shower and bathtub, all areas were cleaned and well managed. Staff was pretty helpful at any time and kids enjoyed the swimming pool (small warm pool where young kids can play..very nice). Some restaurants around but not a lot. We tried the buffet...international food can be found and of course bit of seafood and even hot-pot. Not disappointed at all.

This review is about the Qinhuang Grand Hotel, which , for some reason, is listed on this site as the Qinhuang International Hotel. There is a separate listing here for a Qinhuangdao Grand Hotel, but that is a different property. This review is for the Grand Hotel at No. 2 Wentao Road.||||We booked this hotel a month in advance and paid $208 (including taxes) per room for two “deluxe sea view” rooms and stayed only one night, as planned.||||The Qinhuang Grand is probably the nicest, most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in, anywhere. The hotel seems very new and the rooms appear to be brand new. The rooms had floor to ceiling windows that provided a spectacular view of the beach, ocean and surrounding area. The rooms were spacious with high ceilings. ||||The bathroom had a large glass wall separating the bath tub from the main area of the hotel room. An electrically controlled blind provided privacy when necessary. It had a large, separate shower with a ceiling-mounted “rain shower” fixture.||||Each room had a fridge and digital safe, which was wired for AC power so, for example, you could leave your video camera, cell phone or tablet charging while it was secured. Throughout the room, each set of power outlets contained electrical sockets compatible with both local and North American standards (and perhaps European, too) . The rooms also had large, flat-screen TVs.||||The surrounding beach area is a little disappointing. It is hard to explain. The beach is long, wide and sandy. However, it doesn’t have the “feel” of comparable beaches in, say, California or Hawaii. It almost felt a bit “industrial”. In addition, we were unable to find anywhere within walking distance to eat. There were a couple open-air restaurants. But none had English menus and they generally seemed to focus on seafood (which made sense for the location, but just didn’t seem appetizing to us at the time).||||The hotel is across the street from the beach and not too far from the town centre. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodated us in English. Although it is hard to imagine every being anywhere near Qinhuangdao again, if I was, I would definitely stay at the Qinhuang Grand again and I wouldn’t bother checking prices or availability anywhere else.||||As of the time of this writing, the Expedia listing for this property contains a bizarre description in its first couple lines. This almost caused us not to book here, but we assumed it was either a joke or some type of on-line sabotage. We were very glad we stuck with this booking. I have alerted the hotel management about the problem but so far they haven't fixed the problem on Expedia. However, you can feel confident that this is a very normal, high-end hotel.

Good location; the hotel is right next to the beach 🏖, the service was okay. I just didn’t like the fact that I have to go down every day to call for the cleaners. Also the bathroom had a bad smell but once cleaned it was okay. It’s a little nice and cheap place to be, specially if you like the beach 🏝

Accommodation is at a high level and the rooms are extremely comfortable. I visited the hotel within a business trip and the room was very spacious, which was the time as a bedroom and a large space as an office. Of course interesting, but today even the conventional standards were a glass wall between the bathroom and the room. Beautiful view of the sea.

This is reportedly where dignitaries like the president of China stay but I couldn't get air-conditioning in my room; it was about 78 degrees fahrenheit in my room (25 celsius). The pool was magnificent and the breakfast was abundant and delicious; they made a great omelette. The views from my room were not stunning because the surrounding area in under a lot of development, so if you are facing west you will see lots of construction.

Just enjoyed spending the mid-autumn festival weekend at the Qinhuang Grand Hotel (English Name), also known as the Qinhuang International Hotel (which is a direct translation of the Chinese name： 秦皇国际酒店), located adjacent to the beach at No. 2 Wentao Road. Our sea view room was clean, quiet, with modern facilities on par with five-star hotels in Beijing and Shanghai. The bed was similar to the Westin heavenly - so comfy. Breakfast featured western and Chinese dishes. My omelette was cooked perfectly, bacon was tasty (though a bit on the greasy side), coffee tasted nice and strong. The hotel staff kept the buffet trays filled and both the serving and dining areas clean despite a crush of ravenous Chinese guests - amazing performances by the dining room team. Outside, we enjoyed the new walking path and boardwalk, which is now almost complete with just a couple gaps, allowing for a two-mile waterfront stroll end-to-end. Looking out to sea with no people for miles was a calming antidote to the Beijing chaos. In-room wifi was slow but we unplugged and enjoyed a gadget-free vacation. The only downside was on Day 3 when the sea breeze died and the regional Hebei air pollution rolled in to choke Qinghuangdao, but by then it was time to head home anyway. In sum, a great stay, we will be back!
