新乡开元名都大酒店

The hotel decoration is not very new, nevetheless, good quality and good service, huge rooms with huge bathroom. I really like the complimental fruit plate that the hotel provides every day. Big selection for breakfast, though Chinese style mostly.

In need of a refurb. Once more - air conditioner was not individualized to the room, but a single 25 degrees for the entire hotel. Luckily the window could be opened. In its day I am sure it was grand - but she is getting a little tired and dated. Breakfast was solid 7 out of 10.

Thoughtful staff from alighting my vehicle to when i was leaving. Room was spacious and comfy - counter to put luggage. had coffee with creamer and sugar to my delight - they usually provide tea only in most second/third tier city hotels i've been to. bathroom was walk-in fit for 2 - 2 sinks, separate toilet and shower, even had a tub. had a nice study corner as well. breakfast was typically a big spread, not fantastic tasting and location not great to malls, but fitted my business travels. will recommend. indoor pool (heated) at the back of the hotel and a very usable albeit small gym with TVs to take your mind off the number of mins left on the treadmill

My local hosts booked a room for me at this hotel for one night – apparently, one of only two 5-star hotels in Xinxiang. For those who want to quibble over whether or not this hotel is really 5 stars, let's be realistic. Xinxiang is not Shanghai, nor is it even Guilin or Wuhan. In Chinese terms, it's a small interior city that sees very few foreign visitors. Therefore, you're not going to get the level of service of an international luxury brand hotel in a tier-one city. All this really means is that for those who want to stay at the best hotel in Xinxiang, this is one of them.||||For those travellers who like to spend a lot of time in a hotel, eating in its restaurants and using all of the amenities, I'm afraid this review will be of limited help. I typically don't travel that way. A hotel is just a place for me to sleep and, perhaps, do some writing and outside communications. I don't use the gym or pool. I'm not even in the habit of turning on the television. I may have breakfast there, but rarely any other meal, unless it has a brewpub. My overnight at this hotel was typical of that experience.||||My host checked me into the hotel and I went up to my room on the eighth floor to get settled in and send an e-mail home. The room was large with a comfortable king-size bed, love seat and coffee table with fruit bowl, desk and chair, built-in wardrobe, and minibar counter. There was, however, no refrigerator in the cupboard. The wall opposite the door had windows from one end to the other, offering a view of the park in front of the hotel.||||I connected to the Internet using the hotel's free ethernet connection. One limitation I found was that there were insufficient electrical plugs near the desk. Some desks have a hidden power bar compartment that opens when pressed. I did not notice such a setup.||||After stowing my luggage and sending my e-mail, I went out with my hosts for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant serving Henan cuisine, then to their brewery taphouse for the rest of the evening to experience the local craft beer culture. Late in the evening, they returned me to the hotel where I had a shower, then promptly turned in for the evening for a pleasant sleep. I had no issue with the temperature of the room. It was ideal.||||In the morning, not having an appetite for breakfast, I just made myself coffee in my room from with the electric kettle and the complimentary bottled water. (I bring my own coffee with me when travelling in China, as it is cheaper, of good quality, and I know I will enjoy it.) I then packed and my hosts checked me out of the hotel when they picked me up at 11:30am.

I have stayed at the New Century Grand before and as before the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed really comfortable. The buffet breakfast was tasty and had plenty of selections both eastern/western. The difference this time was the ongoing pandemic but the hotel has a good regime set up so I felt safe and protected during my stay.

The hotel is located near the local governmental offices in the new part of Xinxiang not far from the high speed train station to Beijing. It market itself as a 5-star hotel with the prices not far from Beijing hotels but 95% of the staff lack English speaking ability, all rooms have somewhat defects; dusty furnitures, squeaky beds, smelly air conditioning, dripping water taps. Changed rooms 3 times during my stay without finding one room that would meet the level of 5-stars. There is free WiFi in the whole hotel says the homepage which is good for tourists with foreign mobile subscriptions but in fact it only works in the lobby and rooms. The hotel also has sauna, sports centre, spa, indoor-swimming pool but you have to pay extra for everything which is not mentioned on the website.

This was an excellent hotel (equivalent to European 4-star) - large comfortable rooms (and bed), efficient air-conditioning, excellent shower and bathroom facilities, a large desk to work at, fast free WiFi, HD TV (with a few English language film and entertainment channels - but no BBC or CNN) clean, great views over a park, and welcoming plate of fruit. The breakfast buffet was varied, vast and HOT, and the coffee was every good too! I would stay there without qualms on future visits.

Hot, but not in a good way. Maybe if you are Chinese 26 degrees Celsius is ok, but not if you are a western male. This is a typical China hotel problem. You can turn down the temperature on the dial in your room but nothing changes. To make matters worse the gym, which is not too bad in terms of its equipment, is just as hot. The rooms were ok in other respects. I think I was on the 10th floor which is the only non smoking floor and I think the rooms might be a bit better than average. Anyway, fix the air conditioning and I'd be happy to come back, but not otherwise.
