The hotel was really amazing and it accepts foreigners. The lobby staff are really friendly and they were quite supportive. The rooms were fully booked quite fast so I had to stay alone in a family room. The room was excellent with a wonderful view as you can see on photos, and everything was fresh. They also provide some refreshments and one can always get fruits for free. The food at the restaurant was quite nice and fresh so I can still recommend that. Generally, I had a wonderful stay!

I stayed at Huayang for 5 nights and it was a great experience. The location of the hotel is very good, couple of shopping malls across the street and a couple more few blocks away. Plenty of food choices in or around the malls. The staff is very helpful and attentive. Hotel has a pretty extensive breakfast buffet, there is a bar inside serving food and drinks. Lunch and dinner are available without leaving the hotel. Free snacks/drinks/5 different types of pillows to choose from and can be delivered to the room. Free shuttles to train station and airport. My room faced the park behind the hotel and was very quiet. The hotel exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed the large, non-smoking room I was given, and they even moved me to a quieter location overlooking the garden. When I checked in, they also gave me a protective sleeve for my card, which was very kind of them. Throughout my stay, I felt like I was given items I didn't know I needed or didn't expect, ex. slippers for the shower, a portable stand for my phone. So at one level, the service was amazing. However, at the same time, there were elements that felt a little off--when I asked for another bed cover, I was basically told by one of the staff that I didn't need it (?), and although on the whole the staff was very nice and polite, there were times when I felt slightly made light of. I wondered if it was in part because of my travelling solo as a woman. I'm thinking about what it means to present myself, if there's something more that needs to be done. Of course, respect is earned, but I'm just reflecting here. Otherwise, I enjoyed the buffet breakfasts and the location was rather convenient as well, just was a bit noisy before I was moved.

酒店環境好，對面就是萬達廣場，走十分鐘左右就是七里河站，出行吃飯也十分方便。房間裡設施雖舊但乾淨整潔，沒半点塵埃，亦很齊全。員工有禮體貼窩心，由接送，接侍，住宿到退房都十分滿意。早餐款式多樣味道好。

Hotel service was superb. Free snacks and drinks upon request. Staff was very helpful and introduced a great guide. Though the hotel is old and toilet small, they make it up with their excellent service

I would echo previous reviews in being happily surprised by the welcome on check in- very solicitous porters and assistants . We were brought tea and hot flannels whilst being checked in and given a menu to order from for free snacks and drinks. The reception area is palatial- the rooms a little dated but the bed was very comfortable and the pillows perfect- they have a pillow menu! ||The customer service in this hotel is outstanding . Even though the bathroom was dated the shower was good and|Powerful- everything worked . The hotel is in a good position for shops and food. |Breakfast was good- lots of variety -I particularly liked the yoghurt. Overall I would be very happy to stay again.

Hua-Yang Plaza Hotel, Luoyang|I am biased because this is one of my favourite hotels in China. I stayed there on the 23rd and 24th October on the 12th floor overlooking the Wanda cinema plaza. I had a suite with a very large double bed, firm and very comfortable. The bathroom complete with shower and spa bath was spotless and the “office/parlour” comfortable and spacious. The hotel provides a PC in the room, but like, I guess, most people I used my laptop. The Wi-Fi connection was fast and speedy, easy to enter although at times using a Google based platform was a bit problematic on this visit. I had, for the most part, no problem with my Microsoft OS laptop – but the iPad just failed to work properly during the 2 nights despite having a VPN.|The staff are amazingly attentive, although the majority speak no English, but if stumped they quickly find an English speaking colleague. On check in you immediately get offered a hot towel and a cup of tea. The tables in the restaurant are laid out with painstaking care as to the placement of the items. I used the ‘snack food’ restaurant on the second floor. The food was very good – and the prices not far removed from the many restaurants around the city.|The middle aged lady the hotel provided for the massage service was amazing – I like a hard massage and she seemed to intuitively know which muscle group to deal with. She spoke no English but a combination of WeChat and Google translations meant essentially little problem and occasionally moment of hilarity at mis-translations. I am sorry – I never got her name – perhaps Qiqi?|Only a minor criticism – no English language television programmes seemed to exist on the couple of occasions when I turned the TV on.|

Forming what amounts to the centre of town, this hotel has quite a bit of local history which may explain the disparate experience of staying here. This Ceausescu Palace-like edifice was apparently under construction for well over a decade from the mid-90s but the grandiose scale of the hotel must have overwhelmed both the developer and the local accommodation market and the place has passed through the hands of a number of owners before the present operator. ||Their answer is, apparently, to bypass doing anything substantive with the accommodation and focus on the highest possible standards of service. And once you arrive via the hotel’s monumental Romanesque porte cochere you are swept up by that service – which doesn’t let up until you’ve checked out. To be sure you probably won’t get as much out of it in English but the attention and good grace give little away to the finest hotels anywhere in the world so smile, nod and suck it up. ||Unfortunately, the guest’ quarters are a jolting reminder that this is out of the mainstream in China. This hotel has been one of the most difficult we have ever tried to rate. The service is at the peak of excellent whilst the accommodation is barely average, so our dart landed on very good … but. ||||The good: an expansive and refreshingly chandelier-free foyer complete with electronic grand piano providing the aural ambience and a battalion of liveried young ladies delivering exceptionally attentive service. Our standard non-smoking room was clean, comfortable, quiet and of adequate size. Everything expected was there and it all worked as expected. The king bed was comfortable, the linens crisp and clean and the pillow menu is such that if you can’t find one that suits then it probably doesn’t exist. The bathroom was of modest but acceptable proportions, adequately equipped and the plumbing worked well. The well-stocked minibar is gratis and the hotel will launder two clothing items daily at no cost. The daily turndown service includes a small buffet of goodies which would sate the needs of the most prodigious snacker. The included wifi worked well on all our devices. The included breakfast was a well-tended and good quality buffet of cross-cultural selections taken in a cavernous – but somewhat featureless – dining room. || ||The not so good: the Achilles heel here are the bland and run-down guest rooms. The contrast with the ostentatious façade and vaulting foyer couldn’t be more stark. Just a square metre of space donated by the cavernous public spaces to each guest’ bathroom would have made no difference to the former and a welcome difference to the latter. A well-worn three stars is about as good as we could concede here. And this measure extends into the bathroom which, despite the fact that it all worked OK, had an even more downmarket aura to it. Even the towels seem to have joined up in sympathy and were a little frayed around the edges.
