Spent two nights here whilst in Dengfeng to visit the Shaolin Temple. The hotel has a four star rating that it thoroughly deserves , driving up to the hotel it looks impressive from the first sight ,the two murals on the outside walls are interesting & leave you in no doubt that this town is all about Kung Fu.||Checking in was easy, the staff very friendly & helpful.The rooms were very comfortable with everything you could need.The room was warm spotlessly clean with books provided in Chinese about the hotel & the area. During the afternoon free local newspapers were brought to the room.||My room was at the back of the hotel with a view over the Kung Fu training school next to the hotel some building work was being done but with the excellent double glazing this was un-noticable from inside ( although fascinating to watch)||The beautifully carpetted corridors meant that there was no noise of people coming or going outside the room & again these were all spotless.|| The lobby of the hotel exhibits of fossils & a fish pond with a bridge over to the restaurant which made it worth taking the time to look at & explore. The shop in the lobby had many useful things such as those you may forget & snacks to make you stay more pleasant the long opening hours meant it was there when you needed it, the prices were also very reasonable. Next door a very classy jewelery shop which I enjoyed looking around.||The hotel has two restaurants I only ate breakfast so don't know what the evening menu or prices were like.|| Breakfast however was a magnificent affair , after crossing the bridge & handing in breakfast vouchers the dining room was big bright & welcoming with tables near to TV screens if you wanted to catch up on the news or away from them if you just wanted a quiet breakfast. The tables were all clean with attentive staff topping up tissues , tooth picks & clearing plates away.Then the food - What a splendid choice of dishes all well labelled for those of us who didn't appreciate what was on offer , it took me two passes of all the dishes on offer to fully take in what was there & make a choice there was also omlettes , fried eggs being cooked on demand. Toast & bread rolls were there for those who didn't want to sample the Chinese dishes.|| The whole atmosphere in the hotel was friendly & the only hotel of all that I stayed in on this trip where strangers joined you at your table not only other western tourists but Chinese as well.|| It's well worth stepping out of the hotel just opposite is a park with floral display & another park with pathways to walk around alittle further down the road. The small shopping centre on the crossroads was great to walk around selling souvenirs & accessories for those studying Kung Fu a supermarket , buying things here was great fun shoopkeepers having a few words of English me having a few words of Chinese there was much pointing & gestures but no problems & the prices much cheaper than the shops in the performance area at the Shaolin Temple.||A ramp next to the hotel takes you to the courtyard area of the Kung Fu School I stood & watched the students of varying ages train , the teachers seemes quite happy to have people watching as long as you don't interfere.|| Many people seem just to come to the Shaolin Temple by bus & then leave again but if you have the time stay do it's well worth it. My guide "Happy Evan" ( who with his driver "Jason" were a great team considerate interesting & GREAT entertainment - They were from Zhengzhou where I flew in to the area) told me of an evening show at an open air theatre just 5 minutes drive from the hotel , which I went to. The tickets for sector B 200RMB gave me a great view of one of the most spectacular performances I've ever seen. Sitting on one side of the mountian the action took place on the opposite mountain side , The music , dancing , singing & fight scenes were breathtaking & the way they were staged was even better at the end the drumming made the whole mountain feel as if it was shuddering. DVDs were available to buy at the end & the shops had more souvenirs & the chance before the show to hire big warm coats.

在登封游览少林寺期间，我在这里住了两晚。这家酒店是四星级的，名副其实。驱车前往酒店，第一眼就令人印象深刻。外墙上的两幅壁画引人入胜，让人毫不怀疑这座小镇与功夫息息相关。入住手续简便快捷，工作人员非常友好热情。房间舒适，设施齐全。房间温暖整洁，还贴心地准备了介绍酒店和周边地区的中文书籍。下午，酒店还免费送来了当地报纸。我的房间位于酒店后侧，可以俯瞰隔壁的功夫训练学校。虽然当时正在进行一些施工，但由于双层玻璃窗的出色性能，从房间里完全听不到任何声音（不过看着施工过程也挺有意思的）。铺着精美地毯的走廊隔绝了外界的喧嚣，同样一尘不染。酒店大堂展出了化石，还有一个鱼塘，一条桥横跨大堂通往餐厅，非常值得花时间参观。大堂商店里有很多实用的小物件，比如你可能忘记带的东西和一些小吃，让你的住宿更加舒适。商店营业时间很长，随时都能买到你需要的东西，而且价格也很合理。隔壁是一家非常高档的珠宝店，我很喜欢在那里逛逛。酒店有两家餐厅，我只吃了早餐，所以不知道晚餐的菜单和价格如何。不过，早餐真是太棒了！穿过桥，交了早餐券之后，餐厅宽敞明亮，氛围温馨。餐桌靠近电视屏幕，方便你观看新闻；你也可以选择远离电视屏幕的座位，享受安静的早餐时光。所有餐桌都干净整洁，服务人员周到细致，及时补充纸巾、牙签，并清理餐盘。至于食物——菜品种类丰富，令人惊艳，而且每道菜都贴有标签，方便我们这些不太了解菜品的人。我仔细看了两遍菜单才完全明白有哪些菜，并做出选择。这里还有现点现做的煎蛋卷和煎蛋。不想尝试中式菜肴的客人也可以选择吐司和面包卷。|| 酒店整体氛围友好，是我这次旅行中住过的唯一一家有陌生人加入你同桌用餐的酒店，不仅有其他西方游客，还有中国人。|| 酒店对面就是一个公园，里面有花卉，非常值得一去。沿着路再往前走一点，还有另一个公园，里面有步道可以散步。十字路口的小购物中心很棒，里面卖各种纪念品和功夫用品，还有一家超市。在这里购物很有趣，店主会说几句英语，我只会说几句中文，所以我们互相指指点点、比划手势，但沟通起来很顺畅，而且价格比少林寺表演区的商店便宜得多。酒店旁边有一条坡道通往功夫学校的院子。我站在那里观看不同年龄段的学生训练，老师们似乎很乐意有人观看，只要你不打扰他们。很多人似乎只是坐巴士来少林寺，然后就离开了，但如果你有时间，一定要多待一会儿，绝对值得。我的导游“快乐埃文”（他和他的司机“杰森”是一对很棒的搭档，他们体贴周到、风趣幽默，而且非常会逗乐——他们来自郑州，我就是飞到那里的）告诉我，酒店附近五分钟车程的地方有个露天剧场晚上有演出，我就去看了。 B区200元的票让我拥有了绝佳的视野，欣赏到了我此生见过的最精彩的演出之一。我坐在山的一侧，演出却在山的另一侧进行。音乐、舞蹈、歌唱和打斗场面都令人叹为观止，舞台呈现更是精彩绝伦。演出结束时，鼓声震耳欲聋，仿佛整座山都在颤抖。演出结束后，可以购买DVD，商店里还有更多纪念品出售，演出前还可以租借厚厚的保暖外套。
