We chose this hotel for its close proximity to the airport and for a bit of luxury and R+R. The grounds surrounding this hotel are beautiful and a lovely place to wonder and enjoy, which we did, enjoying several walks around the premises. Worth knowing that the hotel runs a free bus service to/ from the airport but you have to book it before hand with the hotel. There is no 'desk' at the airport as mentioned in previous reviews. Not realising this we had to take a taxi and because its so close he grumbled a bit. The hotel were great at helping us translate the driver;'s worries- he wanted more money as he was hoping for a longer fare, so worth booking the bus! We had booked a pool side room, but was upgraded upon arrival because there weren't any available. Our upgrade was a huge room but unfortunately a broken AC unit made the first night unbearable. Changed to another room and we spent 3 more nights enjoying our stay. The pools are well maintained. The breakfast buffet was a bit hit and miss- the cereal was stale but most of the other food including the custard buns were great! Evening meals at the restaurant were delicious. We came back a week later as a stop over on the way to the airport. Was a bit annoyed that they only then gave us the map of the complex and a room next to the previously undiscovered hot springs, but never mind. The staff speak enough English for you to enjoy a comfortable stay and are very friendly.

What a find! A beautiful hotel, close to the airport with big, clean rooms and amazing gardens and grounds. The layout and feel is that of a palace/ temple- beautiful pool, fountains and walkways to meander through. Great service. Free shuttle to and from the airport.

I have spent several months in total staying at the Royal Eadry, and it is mostly very good. |The rooms are very well appointed, if a little musty, with the very humid air to contend with. The showers are excellent and bathrooms are well equipped. |The beds are exceptionally comfortable, unusually soft for a Chinese bed. |The air conditioning is normally adequate, but there have been days when it has struggled to cope with the hot Haikou days. |The rooms can be a little dark, and need better lighting. Even with the numerous switches turned on, it still seems to need more. |The restaurant food is good, and mostly very tasty. The portions have been getting a lot smaller over the last three years, and I would appreciate this being reversed. I often finish a meal and still feel a little hungry. |The staff are attentive, very helpful, and speak enough English to get by without difficulty. |I have had several occasions where I have needed to thank the staff for helping me with some of the challenges that can be encountered as a foreigner in China. I regard them as friends. |Just a few small things to improve on and it could be the best hotel in Haikou.

Beautiful hotel! Felt like staying in the forbidden city. I loved my room!!! It had a living room and big bathroom with beautiful tub. Big balcony but no view and uncomfortable chair.

四月份來住了2晚，選擇住這的原因是，很近海口美蘭機場，大約7到8分鐘車程就可到達機場，來去機場都可以接送，但一定要提早預約。房間方面，我們住的是家庭房，所以房間很大，有兩張大床，但要注意其實另一張床是沙發床，明明入住已經告訴前台，我們是4個人睡，但進了房間才發現沙發床沒有幫我們打開，還有房間內有一些牆紙掉落了，但酒店方面沒有去維修，所以會覺得好像舊舊的，有一個超大的浴缸，水力及熱水都很足。早餐方式有很多食物可供選擇，味道還不錯。這個酒店是採用中國宮廷的設計很特別，也很漂亮。

My wife booked this hotel based on the pictures. We arrived and to get to the huge entrance is up a long winding road which is covered with trees and when you enter this vast reception it just is enormous. Unbeknownst to me that the theme is horse and this club certainly means business there are horse statues all over place. The endless corridors and it host high ceilings and plush gardens it even has a little zoo you can visit. The rooms are lovely and warm and massive. The long corridors are just great to walk and discover new places in the vast hotel area. I liked the little zoo and the tea shop, but this is no ordinary tea shop it has hundreds of different types of tea and tea drinking and msking utensils. Just visit if you can its fasinating place.

Driving into the place the hotel looks impressive, but scratch the surface and you see the hotel isn’t loved or finished properly, no one speaks English, the meals are completely awful and getting a drink is almost impossible. The room service is also below standard. A hamburger was more like a little slider and the bun was Asian bread - more like cake. ||Room keeping is very slack, and I wouldn’t want to have the runs because they only provide rooms with the smallest amount of toilet paper.||That said, I know the staff try their best. Management really need to lift their game if they want to remain in business.||The gardens are beautiful. Stunning. It’s a shame they don’t take as much pride with their rooms and customer service.||I’ve been here a week and am leaving tomorrow. When I return I will be staying at a different hotel. This was dreadful.

The gardens are really beautiful but the management and service is very poor. The rooms are barely furnished and use low quality materials. It’s a disappoin**ent.
