It's located right above the Maglev train station, making it incredibly easy to access transportation to and from the city. However, the rooms themselves are quite small and showing their age. The furnishings and décor are basic and a bit outdated, but they serve their purpose for a short stay. The beds are comfortable enough, but don't expect luxury. Despite being old, the rooms are kept clean and functional.

I had to spend a night in Shanghai to make a connection back home to the US. So I searched for airport hotels near the Pudong airport. I am a nervous (though seasoned) traveler and wanted to find a place that was easy to locate, preferably not reliant on the use of an airport shuttle, and reasonably priced. I was a bit concerned because I do not speak a word of Mandarin and generally get very flustered in foreign environments. I was landing in Shanghai after midnight, so that added an additional layer of anxiety for me.|The first hit in Google was of course for the Da Zhong hotel. They have an English website which is bit quaint but it was easy enough to book a night’s stay. I should mention here that my travel plans changed after I had completed the reservation (tuned out I had to return a day early). But it was not a problem at all, and a single email fixed everything to my satisfaction. |If you are wondering how to get to the hotel from the arrival area in Pudong, here is some info. The hotel is reachable from inside the airport except for the last part where you take a couple of steps to land in the hotel foyer. Once you exit the arrival area (don’t leave the airport!), follow directions to the “other” terminal. So if you land in terminal 1, follow the directions for terminal 2 and vice-versa. There will be touts offering taxi service etc. but you should just avoid them. There is a long pathway connecting the two terminals, and the hotel is located mid-way. You will notice a large pillar labelled with the sign airport hotel. Near this pillar is an elevator which will take you one floor up to the hotel area. Follow directions to Maglev and/or airport hotel (the sign airport hotel apparently refers to the Da Zhong airport hotel). Once you exit the elevator you can turn either way to enter the north or the south wing. Your reservation confirmation will tell you which wing you are allocated, so choose your turn wisely.|I booked a King-bed room. It was quite spacious, and mostly clean. The bed was fine though some may find it a bit hard (by some I mean, ahem, my fellow Americans). Like many Chinese hotels, they provide a dental kit and a comb but no shaving paraphernalia. You get slippers too, and the shampoo/bath gel/conditioner appeared more than adequate. Apparently they have breakfast but I did not try it. The room does not have coffee but there was a bag each of black and green tea. The room was stocked with four bottles of water. I got a good five hours of sleep and indulged in a long shower before my long trip stateside, so I was quite happy.|It is important to book in advance. The day I landed, the hotel was fully booked, and they were turning back paying customers.

这次住的南楼大床五楼，干净清爽，比2019年前住的几次要好很多，大概是新装修过了。因为早上航班早，又是中转，这里如果干净就是最好的选择。以后，只要卫生状态良好，依然是不二选择。希望酒店员工也为我们提供良好的卫生环境，拜托了！外面的饮食环境也很好，有几个不错的店，早上起来赶航班非常安心。环境少一个笑脸是因为早上被隔壁吵醒了。四点半。服务少一个是，的确不需要什么服务。态度是没问题的。

早班机住这个酒店太方便了。头天晚上晚饭后从市区坐2号线到机场，酒店离车站很近很好找。第二天早班机几分钟到航站楼。只住一晚睡一觉，没探究其他服务。房间够大够三个成人入住，一张单人床可以睡得下两个瘦子，房间及浴室设施齐全，还算干净，听不见飞机起飞降落的声音。前台人员态度一般。如是早班机只需睡一晚，银推荐。

I had a morning 8 am flight to catch, so I shifted from my hotel downtown a day prior. And boy, what a decision. This hotel is right inside the airport between the two terminals. The lifts appear immediately after punch your exit at the Pudong International Airport metro station. It takes you to the 2nd level where the hotel is located. It is oldish looking, decent interiors hotel. The rooms are decently sized too. The beds are good. And there are plenty of food options right inside the airport area. And since the metro station is right down you can travel back to the city for any last minute shopping. Only thing lacking was that not coffee, tea provided in the rooms. So if you do not want the stress of reaching airport on time for your early flight, I strongly recommend this hotel. Ofcourse being at this location comes at a price. But surely worth the peace of mind.

Located inside the airport, actually need walk quite far from the arrival to the hotel. There are 2 buildings North and South building. Use this hotel upon arrival at Pudong midnight around 12am to catch next day early flight 8:30am. Small but cozy room. The airport food court some still selling food, but the hotel lobby of North building got a small retail to sell some necessary things as well.

位于机场内，实际上从到达处到酒店需要步行很远。有南北楼2栋。 午夜 12 点左右抵达浦东后入住这家酒店，以便赶第二天早上 8:30 的早班航班。 房间虽小但很舒适。 机场美食广场有些还在卖食物，但北楼的酒店大堂也有一个小零售店出售一些必需品。

酒店在两座航站楼中间，步行十分钟左右（快的话五分钟都不用），无论是值机还是接送机都非常方便。北楼的房间比南楼稍旧一些，价格也相对便宜，我们住的是最基础的特价房型，房间比较小，还有一点味道，但整体还算干净，床挺舒服，隔音也不错。在房间里可以直接看到飞机起降，小朋友超级开心！

南楼大大出乎意料的好。隔音效果太棒了，房间大而洁，床品舒适。唯一一个小建议就是，作为一个机场酒店，大部分住客都是因为赶早班飞机或者半夜到达入住，晚上前台如果可以多安排一个住宿登记就太好了。
