Regent Shanghai Pudong

Nice view great location and very conveniences. The room is very large and the bed is very comfortable. However, if I can give negative stars for the services I would give it. I booked through Fine Hotel & Resort which guaranteed a room upgrade and late 4pm check out. Upon check in at 2.30pm, the room was not ready which I understand. Then I went out and back again at 3.30pm and the room still not ready and the staff cannot tell me when it would be ready. I waited patiently until 4.10pm then asked and still the room was not ready until my friend demanded to talk to the manager then suddenly the room was ready at 4.15pm. No apologies or any feedback from the management on the late check-in. Upon check out, I received a box of amenities and the staff did not say anything except this is a gift for you. They also forgot the deduct USD100 credit from Fine Hotel & Resort so I have to remind them. Later I emailed the hotel general manager asking if he/she know about my late check-in as I had already filed a complaint but not received any feedback/responses on my complaint. He replied that he is aware and he explicitly mentioned that apologies has been extended (which I assume it was the box of amenities that the hotel staff gave me but did not tell me what is it for) , and with the room upgrade to 88sqm and 3pm late check out so he hope that I had a good stay. The way he responded made me feel as if I were lucky enough to get the upgraded and late check-out then why complaining ...which in fact I am actually entitled for the upgrade and late check out due to the Fine Hotel & Resort conditions.

曾经的浦东老四季酒店，地理位置没得说，直接通过窗户就能欣赏到浦东三件套和东方明珠。但是硬件设施实在老化严重，更衣室的门坏掉了也没有人维修，淋浴设施也存在异响等问题，希望不要把Regent这么好的招牌浪费掉。

Amazing view both day and night. Always felt so welcomed by IHG group with daily plate of fruits. Housekeeping service was okay, my cosmetic items were arranged nicely. However the room’s power sockets could be improved, the sockets in our room were quite loose and it was difficult to charge our devices. We also accidentally came across a piece of paper written by previous guest under the bed, it was some vulgarities in Chinese. The fact that it was written in vulgarity made us feel really uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay.

白天和晚上的景色都令人惊叹。总是感觉受到洲际酒店集团集团的欢迎，每天都会提供水果。客房服务还可以，我的化妆品摆放得很好。不过房间的电源插座有待改进，我们房间的插座很松，给设备充电很困难。我们还无意中在床底下发现了一张前房客写的纸条，上面写着一些粗俗的中文。事实上，它是用粗俗的语言写的，这让我们感到非常不舒服。早餐还可以。

There isn't much review about this hotel in Google. Here's one… It took a while to decide which hotel to stay…The Grand Hyatt, The Park Hyatt or The Regent. Three of these hotels are pretty much on the same street. Location…I think it's perfect. Towards Park Hyatt, you get the shopping mall style restaurants, the buzz etc. Towards the opposite site, you get the residential restaurants etc. It's on Metro Line 2 AND in between 2 metro stations…Lujiazui and Dongchang (exit 4). 6 minutes walk to Dongchang metro station - is the most convenient. The metro station is linked to Galeries Lafayette shopping mall and Line 9. Metro Line 2 links PVG and SHA airports and in between all the sights. I recommend any hotel that is within Line 2. Shanghai Museum East and Shanghai Museum at People Square are on this line too. Hotel…room was fantastic. Plush. Well maintained and actually looked refreshed. Our city club room was good enough. The gym, pool and club has the bund / tv tower view. People…professionally high standards IMHO. Sure, minor language barrier…part and parcel of travel adventure. Restaurants…Shang Xi was great. Dinner was good. Service was excellent! The one thing that stood out for me comparing Regent, Park Hyatt, and Grand Hyatt…as I enter all three of the them…Regent smells like a hotel. Both Park Hyatt and Grand Hyatt's lobby smells like a restaurant.

I normally don’t do reviews as I understand it’s hard in the hospitality game. But, several small things impact the quality of my stay it prompts me to report them. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do it internally at the hotel as the phone would dial the front desk, the concierge or anyone but the in room dining manager that had already disappointed me. While the hotel is nice and the finishes good they should be for the price and brand. 1. Not great travelling for business and not having an ironing board or iron in the room to prepare for outings. 2. The fridge doesn’t work at all, sorry the light does, but nothing is cold. It’s almost warmer than the room temperature. 3. The in room dining menu advertised to close at 10pm actually closes at 9pm so if you plan your day and outings around being back to eat before 10pm you’re out of luck. They will take your order, then call you to advise the in room dining you just ordered is not available as the kitchen closed 30 minutes ago. These few things might seem small and insignificant to some but for myself whom travels extensively across the globe and often stays in IHG hotels as a platinum elite rewards member I’m used to higher standards, and used to being to have them rectified when reported.

We kindly got an upgrade to a suite. It was really nice, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom very spacious. The breakfast had vegetarian options which is not always the case in hotels in China. I personally like the location of the hotel as it wasn't as loud as in hotels that are more central.

It's a terrible experience staying at this hotel. There is smoke smell in my room and somehow found many dust in the room. The bathroom shower switch is so hard to twist or open. Also, the location of hotel is not that great, not much to experience near the hotel. I won't stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is well located and the Pearl Tower room views are fantastic. The hotel itself is a little run down and dated but the pool are gym are quite nice. We had access to club benefits and really enjoyed the high tea and evening happy hour.

酒店位置很好，房间里的珍珠塔景色非常棒。酒店本身有点破旧而且过时，但是游泳池和健身房都相当不错。我们可以享受俱乐部优惠，非常享受下午茶和晚间欢乐时光。
