Great stay at this hotel. The room was very good value for money. Down the road was a great western cafe which was lovely for breakfast and coffee. You do need to get taxis across the river to the night market. Overall a good stay and the staff were helpful.

This is a very well-located hotel in the downtown area of Jinghong, less than 30 minutes from the international airport and within walking distance or short taxi ride of the river, restaurants, jade shops, and other parts of the city. The rooms are very well appointed, spacious, clean and quiet. The buffet breakfast has a good range of Chinese food, fruit and pastries. The desk staff were helpful and one gentlemen spoke excellent English and was able to assist me in getting money changed. Internet is free in the room with wireless or ethernet connection but the signal is a bit unreliable in the evenings and sometimes it goes off completely. There is a nice handicrafts market open at night directly opposite the hotel and this is worth visiting. There was a slight problem with the machine used to process credit cards which caused a delay when I checked out. Other than this minor inconvenience which was eventually sorted out I enjoyed my stay and would return again.

The Sightseeing Hotel is a high-rise property in the center of the city, within walking distance of most everything (as are most hotels located in the downtown area). The modern rooms either face the Mekong (Lancang) River, barely visible on Floor 8 and above, or the city. The city-view rooms can be more spacious, have a balcony, and more window area. It seemed to me when I looked at about a dozen rooms that the hotel was facing the wrong direction. That is, the larger rooms with more window area should have been facing the river valley rather than the streets and parks of Jinghong.||||The staff, although not all well versed in English, tried very hard to please in all areas of the hotel, from the front office and the bell desk to the dining room. They are well trained to be helpful to westerners. In many out-of-the-way Chinese hotels, the employees avoid westerners because they are self conscious of their lack of English. Not so at the Sightseeing Hotel. One young and ever-smiling bellhop/front door greeter proudly practiced some English with me. The front desk clerk recommended a fantastic restaurant we never could have found on our own. ||||The rooms are large, ranging from about 300 to 400 sq. feet, with modern clean baths and plenty of amenities and mirrors, but be aware that the little extras are for sale in the bathroom. The housekeeping staff happily added three mattress pads to the bed to reduce the rock hardness to merely very firm. The carpeting could have used a thorough steam deep cleaning, but was acceptable. Wireless internet service (included) was fast.||||The complementary breakfast is in the second floor dining room. There is a daily eggs dish, meat, breakfast breads and fresh fruit for western tastes, but the real treat is the made-to-order “noodle bar” where you can season your bowl of noodles and broth (or hot water for vegetarians) with many flavorings. There are about 12 more Chinese breakfast dishes including green vegetables, congee, stir-fried noodles and the usual. The two favorite seasonings in the Jinghong area are garlic and small red peppers.||||(As an aside, beware of the taxi drivers in Jinghong. Honking at westerners to solicit business, they would have a come-on offer of 150 yuan for a whole day tour which would rise suddenly to 400 yuan for a half day as you sat in the car going out of the city. I demanded to be returned to the hotel. Know the going rates before you get into a cab and be very firm. Three drivers tried to significantly overcharge us. After the hotel bell hop loaded the trunk with suitcases for the trip to the airport, the driver demanded 50 yuan for a trip that should cost 10 yuan. I had the bellhop unload the taxi and had a few choice English words for the driver. These were really the only unpleasant experiences in Xishuangbanna.)||||We spent six nights at the Sightseeing hotel and found it be a hospitable and comfortable place to call home in Jinghong.

通过落地窗就能看见外面的景色，酒店周围的环境看起来很舒服。它的位置很好，距离市中心很近，那边的交通也很方便。酒店提供的早餐都是当地的一些特色小吃，像米线、糯米饭等都有，都是三四块钱一份，整体的性价比还不错。房间里面的硬件设施挺好的，毕竟是一家四星级的酒店，隔音效果也很好。

The hotel is well situated in the downtown area. The night-market is right outside of the hotel (not too noisy). If you want a comfortable 3 star hotel (by international standards) but no frills place to stay for a reasonable price I would recommend this. ||||The rooms are quite spacious, the beds are comfortable (not too hard). The hotel will soon need a face lift, it is getting a bit worn here and there. There was no minibar when I stayed, although a refrigerator is provided. ||||The Hotel also has a run down night-club and a somewhat dull lobby bar. There is supposedly, a business centre in the hotel, next to the lobby bar. I didn't see any Internet connection in the hotelroom I had.||||I didn't enjoy the breakfast as much as one of the previous reviewers. There seemed to be a quite reasonable amount of dishes (general Chinese staple and regional) although next to nothing if you prefer Western fare. ||||For excellent Western breakfasts, turn right outside the hotel, walk about 150 metres down the street and on the left side there are three coffee-places/restaurants; Mountain Cafe, Mekong Cafe and Mei Mei Cafe.

this was my first visit to jinghong and stayed at this hotel for 5 days in Jan 2015 . Prior posted reviews of the local hotels, from a western ||||perspective, were pretty scary altho most reviews were several years old. I finally decided on this one believing it was the best of a poor ||||lot but I was very pleasantly surprised and consider it one of the best, certainly by value, of any during my 3 weeks of travel in China, Laos ||||and Thailand. Perhaps its been refurbished since earlier reviews. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are large and well appointed ||||and properly cleaned each day. Large marbled lobby that seemed constantly being swept and cleaned , impressive art and antiques ||||scattered around- and a large friendly staff. Jinghong is a very popular tourist destination for chinese - but these days nearly everywhere in ||||China is packed with travelling Chinese. Jinghong , though busy, is relatively laid back with little crassness and pushiness and many very ||||nice outdoor dining cafes along the tree lined avenues adjacent to the hotel. The primary difficulties were that no-one behind the desk ||||spoke English and I am basically illiterate in Chinese.Even outside the hotel. This could be a big problem for some but if you want to go to ||||Jinghong - and I highly recommend it - then you need to have patience, a sense of humor, and a good translator app on your tablet or phone ||||and a sense of adventure. Or visit the shop at the end of the Hotel arcade (no English name that I could see) and ask for JiaJia. She was an ||||exchange student in Arkansas and speaks English fluently. She was very helpful in getting me set up with a private car/driver to guide me to ||||the tea growing areas - as none of them spoke English. She works for her Dad in the shop - which also has the best prices and quality of tea ||||and jade in the area. Knowlegeable honest people and no sales pressure. There is no direct flight into Jinghong and is accessible through a domestic flight from Kunming. Upon arrival, we, a group of seven checked into Empark Grand Hotel.||This hotel has three buildings, A which is oldest followed by B a slightly newer building and then C. We stayed in Building B where the room is quite big but the bed is a tad bit too soft with the wall paper too worn. Overall it is good and the breakfast was good with the normal Chinese food and some western.||On Day 1, we traveled for one and half hour from the hotel to reach the Wild Elephant GC and along the way there was security checkpoint which took a fair bit of our time. The course layout was challenging and the greens were fast.||Day 2, we traveled in the opposite direction for the same duration and also encountered security checkpoint which is slightly better than the one towards Wild Elephant GC. The course layout is just as challenging but foggy in the morning at this time of the year. We have to hit into the fogged fairway relying on the directions given by the caddy. The green were fantastic and we played 27 holes just to make up for the foggy first nine.||Day 3, we played in Century Jinan GC which is hotel owned and the caddies came with the buggies to pick us up at the hotel. We have to travel on roadway for a short distance to the golf course. Again the layout was good with challenging greens.||After golf, we have to depart to the airport for our flight back to Kunming.

酒店环境、卫生条件都还好。但窗户的隔音效果太差，外面马路上的汽车声音很大。早餐太差，没什么东西，而且大多都凉了，去的晚，一些食品都没了。还有就是离夜市、商业购物区稍远。
