I have been to some terrible hotel in China but this is one of the worst. I only ended up here as I missed a connection at the airport so the airline but us all in this hotel. Yes I was with a rubbish airline so they put us in a rubbish hotel. The Hotel looks like a factory and is located in a small industrial estate. its in a terrible area. none of the staff speak English, I asked in Chinese for a taxi last night the girl on reception understood ordered a taxi, an hour later after me asking what had happened regularly still no taxi.... Every time I left the hotel and came back my card didn't open my door so I had to go down to reception every time. The rooms smell of mouldy cabbage, there's damp in the corridors, things are falling apart, they never clean inside the cupboards there's inch think dust. There's nothing good I can say about this hotel other than thank god I didn't pay for it!!!! AVOID

We traveled here in a group of 22 to the Dongxiangting Hotel near the Beijing Airport, after missing a return flight to North America on a day when rains resulted in many cancelled and delayed flights. The Duty Manager at Air China had worked out some deal for us to get a place, since many hotels do not take foreigners (or do not take them after 11 pm, or did not have room). "Yahoo," we thought, "a hotel with available rooms!" And then after being at the hotel for an hour..."Urgh...we should just slept at the airport on the floor..can't believe the Air China Duty Manager referred us here". We were booked into 11 rooms. ||Here are some of the problems we encountered: Room #1233 actually had water dripping steadily off the ceiling onto a large puddle between the beds. One bed was so water-soaked it could not be slept in, and there was a very strong smell of mold. The individuals in this room moved into their friends' rooms and doubled up in beds that were not soaked. In Room 1333, both individuals had to sleep in one bed, as the other bed had a 1 X 1 metre area that was soaked by the water dripping down off the wall and ceiling. In another room, there was a large chunk of plaster that had fallen off the wall and onto the bed, which was damp, (but not drenched as in the other two rooms). To add insult to injury, I returned the key card to Room #1233 as it was not habitable/appropriate for rental the same night to the desk clerk, and then the manager the next day refused to refund us any money, claiming that I had not returned the key card. Untrue--I had. He also had other creative excuses. We are NOT a fussy group, but when I say water coming from the ceiling..there was actually water coming off the ceiling. The ONLY plus about this hotel is that there is acceptable security (sliding safety glass door to room area accessible only by room card), there were free bottles of water in the rooms, and there was abundant hot water in the showers. ||One might say that the theme of this hotel was really just water: water dripping off the walls and ceilings of the rooms, free water in the rooms, and hot water in the shower. It would have been a better experience had the water been kept to water bottles, and hot water in the shower! I do realize there was heavy rain in Beijing that day, but really...having customer pay for rooms that soggy is a no go in any circumstance. ||Recommendation for next time--stay on the floor at the airport if there are no other hotels with rooms, or bring your flippers and water gear if you venture into the Dongxiangting Hotel.||PS-When I look at the hotel pictures on the website...they fail to show the puddles/fallen plaster/soaked beds in the room, or the buckets in the hallways catching the dripping water. Hmmm....||PPS-Not surprisingly, the negotiated price of the rooms was about 400 yuan per room for each of the 11 rooms, or about $63 USD per room per night. Cheap, for sure, but way to wet overall....
