淮南新锦江大酒店

I stayed here at the New Jinjiang Hotel (also known as the Xinjinjiang Hotel) for one night while on business travel recently||||This is a fully featured hotel, with a very grand lobby and reception area, a range of restaurants and a huge number of staff. The lobby was very impressive, with a Grand Piano at its centre.||||The guest room I stayed in (on the 12th floor) was showing signs of age and wear, the carpet was worn, it had 2 twin beds in it rather than a queen bed. There is very limited English spoken here, so I was not able to effectively request a non-smoking room with a queen bed. The whole hotel (and all areas, including restaurants) smelt of smoke. There was a mini-bar price list in the room, but no mini-bar was present in the room. The bathroom was small, with a "shower over bath" arrangement. A good range of toiletries and razor, toothbrush etc were provided in the room. As is common in many Chinese hotels, no iron or ironing board was provided. Wired broadband internet is included, but Wi Fi was not available during my stay. ||||A Chinese buffet breakfast is provided (it was included in my very affordable room rate), which I would rate as 5/10, in comparison with other Chinese hotels I have stayed in recently. ||||It was a functional hotel for a one night stay, but nothing spectacular. Check out was very efficient - the hotel accepts Western credit cards and does not use DCC (Dynamic currency conversion), both very welcome features when travelling in country China.||||I would happily stay here while next travelling to Huainan on business, however if travelling with my family would probably look at what other options are available. The main reason for the 3 star rating is the tired condition of the hotel, rather than any specific issues about the stay.

It may be rated the number one hotel in Huainan but it is not without its faults. I booked a business room for 8 nights and not unnaturally expected everything to be as advertised. From the outside the hotel looks the part and indeed the lobby area is spacious and well appointed. ||||The room was spacious with two large beds and the free toiletries were ample - a nice touch was the provision of disposable razors and shaving cream, often omitted in hotels in China. However, the carpet could have benefited from a good shampooing, it was decidedly grubby in the area outside the bathroom and the entrance to the room. My first snag was being unable to connect to the internet with their direct connection. I am not entirely computer-literate when it comes to the nuts and bolts and so the only way to resolve it was the provision of a portable router, which worked until just after midnight and then packed up. The following morning a technician was sent who changed my laptop settings so as to enable me to get wired access. ||||They advertise all rooms with a mini bar and small fridge. Mine had neither. On enquiring, my Chinese friend was informed they had no idea what a mini bar was! This was not a huge problem as they did bring a small fridge, which I used to chill the beers I bought from a backstreet shop a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. ||||The western restaurant has a limited menu but also does a few Chinese dishes as well. I tried the Indian beef curry with fried rice from the Chinese options. It is in fact curry flavoured egg fried rice. To be fair I must say that disappointment aside, it tasted very nice which is more than can be said for the “western” foods ordered on subsequent occasions. The dishes were served lukewarm despite the kitchen being a few yards away and while the steak was ok the Italian vanilla chicken was positively awful, with one area of it still being pink. My opinion of the fare: terrible and over-priced. My advice: avoid.||||Reception staff appear to speak no English whatsoever although a girl was found when I had internet problems on day two who did at least have a smattering. I suspect as soon as they realised it was the foreigner she was pressed into service. ||||The central air-conditioning kept the room nicely cool despite outside temperatures being in the high thirties. I eventually found the advertised 24 hour film channel (178) but be warned, it shows them on a loop so having watched three (one in French) I found they were repeated the following day. ||||Take whatever facilities are advertised online with a pinch of salt and as long as you are aware of this then you will probably enjoy your stay considering the room rates are very reasonable. There are always taxis outside the hotel and downtown is a short ride, where there is a (very busy) Pizza Hut with a Burger King in close proximity for those unwilling to sample local cuisine or are simply in need of something more akin to their normal diet.

当时好像打了九折的优惠，酒店也没什么特色，就是大众化吧。性价比还可以，房间设施还行，有的房间可以上网，我住的房间就配有网线。舒适度还可以，反正摆设和房间的颜色还是挺舒适的。服务还可以，当然肯定没法跟国内一线大城市的酒店比。有提供免费的早餐，味道还可以，品种还行，偏重于中餐。但卫生情况一般，好像是一天一打扫，你要是要求打扫再给你打扫。地理位置还可以，在市中心，外出打车挺方便的，而且有地下停车场，环境还行，不过购物的广场和超市没有，购物不太方便。可是它离汽车站大概有5公里路，坐车的话也就十五分钟左右。

Room 2016 was decent size. No fridge, but had a kettle for coffee/tea. I never could figure out how to use the remote to turn on the TV. Room had a scale with kg/pounds. Bathroom needed some heavy recaulking of moldly grout. A tiny bit of noise with nearby trains. Checkin took a long time for our business group of 3 as they had to make copies of passports and keep checking the system. Decent number of toiletries – comb, razor, shower cap, shampoo, lotion, bath gel, dental kit. Wifi was eratic – ok in early evening and morning, but very slow between 8-10pm. Breakfast was Chinese – noodles, bok choy, rice, etc and some interesting orange juice that was hot (temperature). Hotel good for area of China, but Westerners might not find as high quality.

As we were winding down our trip to China, we had the opportunity to stay at the Huainan Xinjinjiang Hotel for two nights. I had stayed back in 2007 and it was nice then but I wondered if it would still be enjoyable. It was. We had two rooms and they were not generous but standard size. We did not have connecting rooms but they were located directly next door. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable (a bit harder as is typical in China but not too much and we slept just fine). The hotel staff is very friendly and, even though we could not find a lot of staff who spoke English, we were able to communicate via a translator and our broken Chinese without problems.||||We saw that there was a train station in or directly adjacent to the hotel which would make travel from Hefei quite easy. Breakfast was okay and the location seemed good as it was easy for us to get around. I would recommend this hotel to Western travelers visiting Huainan.

I first visited Huainan over two years ago and stayed for four weeks here, at the time I really hoped there would not be a need ever to return. But who know's the future.||This was my third visit in the last four months to this hotel (about fifty nights in total) and it's not altered in over two years.||As usual for China if you ask for a no smoking room they remove the ash trays. On my second trip I got a room on the 20th floor (the non smoking floor) and I had two ash trays in my room.||The beds are big comfy and the bedding is clean, the rooms are OK but could be kept cleaner. There is an empty fridge, I suppose for your own use, but no mini bar.||The bathrooms are adequate and well supplied with toiletries.||If you visit this hotel you have the choice. A room at the back you hear the trains, a room at the front you hear the traffic. Take ear plugs.||The restaurant has a limited amount of western dishes, and a first for me a T'bone steak with no bone. No explanation that the T'bone was not available. I think they hoped I wouldn't notice the missing bone. ||If you want a half decent place to eat I recommend the City Garden Restaurant. About 15/20 mins walk, 5 mins taxi. Good food with plenty of choices. ||There is no bar at the hotel to relax. In the gym most of the equipment is in need of repair.||Do they think if there's no competition, there's no need to improve. Any western chain would blow this hotel out of the water.

据说是当地做好的酒店，陪领导出差便选择了这里。位置还可以，但软硬件还是有差距，来之前也在网上看了其他朋友的点评，普遍反映服务员水平有待改进，入住后觉得他们说的还的是挺有道理的，希望酒店加强管理呀，要不以后客人越来越少了。房间卫生打扫也不及时。希望改进。| 再补充一点，餐厅的牛肉汤很好喝，据说也是淮南的特色。

This is a terrible hotel with pretensions of grandeur but no substance. The lobby is meant to look imposing - I've seen wedding photos being taken there (can't think of anywhere I'd less want to hold my wedding reception). It's full of marble-esque pillars and a grandiose floor, but dimly-lit and depressing. ||||The rooms can also look ok on first glance but they don't even do the basics right. The carpet is usually filthy, I've had toilets block, showers flood, the WiFi not work, plug sockets not work. The decor is very gloomy - mahogany and dank beige and stained furnishings. It's cold in winter.||||Breakfast is underwhelming to say the least. I know it may sound like an odd thing to write, but the breakfast room again has pretensions to grandeur without actual attention to detail and that annoys me the most. Chair covers are all creased, tables are dirty etc.||||The staff are nice enough but untrained. The first time I stayed there a 'lady of the night' phoned my room at 10pm but I complained and it hasn't happened since.||||I am longing for a decent chain to move into huainan - I have to go there sometimes for work - if even a travelodge equivalent opened I'd jump ship straightaway.
