Qingdao Oceantec Valley Hotel

First I want to say that I chose this hotel because it is cheap and near the university at which I teach and hoped to establish it as a base while I am in Qingdao. I shall do so. The hotel was surprisingly comfortable and well-maintained for the price. Better than I expected. The staff was helpful although it is obvious that they are unaccustomed to westerners. (The fact that I speak some Chinese is helpful. Do not expect English.)That said, the neighborhood is desolate. Except for an adjacent Chinese supermarket, their are no shops, restaurants, or street life to be seen. The hotel has a restaurant but it closes at 6:30 so takeout it is. Delivery was fast and the food was decent.Expect comfort, not charm or style, I have already made my next reservation.

Located near beach, Oceantec is a great hotel for their buffet lunch. The dessert chef speak great English and makes tasty treats. Food of all variety for all appetite. Baby lobsters in 4 sauces tasty. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks. Clean, staff are efficient and happy to assist.

Oceantec 位于海滩附近，是一家提供自助午餐的绝佳酒店。甜点厨师英语说得很好，可以做美味的点心。各种食物满足各种胃口。四种酱汁的小龙虾味道鲜美。食物无限量，饮料无限量。干净，工作人员高效并且乐于提供帮助。
