REST: pleasant temperature inside the room, but the air conditioning didn’t cool very well, some noise from outside were other guests talking while smoking ROOM: very comfortable bed with a firm mattress, two types of pillows, one large and one ergonomic, bathroom with everything necessary CLEANLINESS: very clean WIFI: didn’t use it BREAKFAST: basic, oriental style, but there is sliced bread and jams LOCATION: in the center of the old city NOTES: the main entrance is behind the image in the photo, but you can access it through the vinegar shop with a statue outside. Super friendly staff, the receptionists speak English, upon arrival we were given a gift, the room has all kinds of details that show they care about the guest

It is one of the best inn I stayed in China. The rooms are clean and they have daily cleaning. The breakfast is good with simple Chinese and western selection. Best of all they serve coffee which may be difficult to find in some smaller China cities. One of the receptionist can speak fluent English which is great for western travellers. My friends enjoyed their wine bought from inn but the only little complaint is they wish hotel can chill their IPA beers:). Good choice accomodation in Datong.

I am from Malaysia, totally obsessed with this place and location, the person in charge, the lady explained to us the story and the history of this 2000 years old building Old Pipa ,I know is the old building with historic but didn't know the much story behind until I Google it, very appreciated that we still able to enjoy such a beautiful and well maintained room and building . The room come with a/c,hot shower smart toilet bowl, slipper and toothbrush and kettle. Breakfast is good. Love it. Hope people that come to stay here spent some time on the architectural and antiques that display in the duilding. Will definitely introduce to my friends and family if they visit 山西。

我来自马来西亚，完全迷恋这个地方和位置，负责人，女士向我们解释了这座2000年历史的建筑老琵琶的故事和历史，我知道是一座有历史但不知道的老建筑背后有很多故事，直到我用谷歌搜索它，非常感谢我们仍然能够享受如此美丽且维护良好的房间和建筑。房间配有空调、热水淋浴、智能马桶、拖鞋、牙刷和水壶。早餐很好。爱它。希望来这里住宿的人们花一些时间欣赏建筑中展示的建筑和古董。如果我的朋友和家人来山西，肯定会介绍给他们。

A lovely, cozy hotel just steps away from a hirtoric tower. Note that although this hotel is on a pedestrian street, a taxi can drop you off within two short blocks of the hotel entrance.Note that there is no elevator in the hotel. Most rooms are on an upper level but I did nitice at least one on the main level. So if you have mobility issues BE SURE TO SEE IF A MAIN LEVEL ROOM is available!! If not, you should probably consider staying elsewhere.The staff at this hotel is warm and friendly. There are lovely decorative items arranged throughout the public areas of the hotel. The room we stayed in was "cosy"- that is to say that it was a bit cramped. For some reason this hotel will only provide a single key-card oer room. This can be awkward if one travelling companion wants to enjoy the town's nightlife, while the other may want to rest. (And note that room electricity only works with the key card inserted into its reader!)It was interesting to note that hotel clientele was a diverse mix compared go most Chinese hotels. Although staff were all friendly, do not count on English being spoken!Apparently Datong vinegar is a well know regional specialty. So be sure to ask at the front desk if you'd like to acquire a bottle!

Datong is super charming and this local hotel is very well located (city centre). It's a decent location from the train station and can be reached by taxi, bus and walking (30 min). The staff is very friendly and the rooms are spacious and well equipped.

The hotel is more than just a Hostel I would rather call it a botique hotel located in the heart of the old and renovated part of Datongnan. Employees are very kind and provide the best of hospitality. Rooms are clean and bathroom in excellent condition. It is located in area where no cars are allowed so very quiet,yet the taxi can drop you at less then 3 min walk. Breakfast is a bit short especially for foreign guest .

这家酒店不仅仅是一家旅馆，我宁愿称其为精品酒店，位于大同南旧区和翻新区的中心。员工非常友善，提供最好的款待。房间很干净，浴室状况极佳。 它位于禁止汽车通行的区域，非常安静，但步行不到 3 分钟即可乘坐出租车。早餐有点短，特别是对于外国客人。

Another wonderful stay with the lovely Pipa Inn. If you travel to the gorgeous old town of Datong, this is where you must stay!!! The staff are so friendly, the rooms and hotel are beautiful, great location in the middle of the old town and the inn can arrange a driver to get you to all the historical sights. Highly recommend.

在可爱的琵琶客栈度过了又一次美妙的住宿。如果你去美丽的大同古城旅游，这里是你一定要住的地方！工作人员非常友好，房间和酒店都很漂亮，位于老城区中心的优越位置，旅馆可以安排司机带您前往所有历史景点。强烈推荐。

Perfect for a stay in Datong. Not just a hotel but more of a museum - you can spend time exploring its art and history notes on a relaxing g evening. Located at the heart of the Ancient city, it’s conveniently close to EVERYTHING! Staff are friendly, rooms are clean (even though not big), breakfast is very Shanxi:)
