As can be seen in many of the pictures/photos posted by various reviewers, this hotel provides an unique experience to many who have not stayed in an ancient style Chinese bed room, especially the bed as it actually functions as a bed as well as setties where you can have tea and have a chit chat. In fact, it is also used as dinning table where meals are consumed. ||I too was concerned with the security of the hotel because it is very open and it is accessible by all, however I was assured that hotel does take security seriously and they have placed a butler to be stationed in every courtyard, the butler double up as security officer to fence off any suspicious characters. ||For many of us who come from a modern world, it is indeed a rare experience to try out staying in an Chinese ancient room. And to enjoy your stay, it is important to adjust your expectation and take every new encounters as refreshing experience. ||Hotel facilities are well maintained as they all functioned perfectly without any hiccup. Nonetheless my worthy advice to all is that staying one night should be fun but definitely not more than one night as the room is not designed to catered for long stay, i.e., no proper wardrobe for you to store your essentials.

Stayed 1 night at this hotel to visit the Unesco sites. ( First bank of China and the County court) The hotel is clean and quiet - no lift cause only 2 storeys high. Each room has an ancient décor... bed with bed post etc. However, the toilet is modern western with hot water shower and a seated toilet bowl. Think this is the main draw for foreign tourists. ||However, to get to the hotel, you need to take the electric trams as buses are not allowed into the walled city compound. Not safe to travel solo as the whole place is huge and like a maze. It takes about 20 mins tram ride (from main entrance) to the hotel and quite scary as the driver sped through winding walls. The tram does not stop infront of the hotel as the pavement is stoned and accessible only by pedestrians. From the hotel rooms compound to the main entrance is about 3 minutes walk. Thus we carried an overnight bag for it is impossible to lug big luggages around.||The breakfast was crowded (had to share table) and food taste horrible. No coffee and tea, only hot milk and soya milk.||At night, we watch Youjian PingYao, quite an unusual performance but expensive... our tour charged us 550 RMB each but I think one can get the tickets online for 198 RMB (Ticket price printed was 298 RMB -) no choice for foreigners. Not recommended if you cannot understand Chinese.||There's room service (massage) available - promotion price 100 RMB for 1 hour body massage plus 1-hour foot spa. What one needs after a day of walking,.

The hotel has a decor that matches the ancient feel in the Pingyao Ancient City. It is very unusual. Apart from the hotel surrounds, the rooms are furnished with an ancient style bed, plus other old fashioned items. I stayed there one night. It is the best way to see the large ancient city ie enjoying the night scenes and night life as well as the beautiful street scenes in the early morning. Great for taking photos, including sunset. There are no lifts but the hotel has only two levels. The room is reasonably well equipped and is comfortable, with air-conditioning. From the hotel I walked around the main streets until I reached the North Gate. It was a long but enjoyable walk. Took a kind of tuk-tuk back to the hotel for RMB 20. The driver drove around the dark and bumpy back streets but it was fun. I studied the city map well before visiting and felt confident that the driver was doing the right thing. The next morning, I got up early and walked out of the hotel to see the quiet but beautiful streets, under the rising sun. There were very few people then and it was great for photography. The hotel is situated in the heart of the ancient city, hence most of the main attractions are within easy walking distances. After breakfast, the tour guide took us to see the first bank of China, the court house and up to the wall of the city where one could view the ancient city from an elevated level. Again that was great for taking photos. Unfortunately there were big trees blocking the view of the South Street (most popular with the tourists). The stay at the hotel was a great experience.

酒店的装修风格与平遥古城的古色古香很相配。这是非常不寻常的。除了酒店周围的环境外，房间里还配有一张古式的床，以及其他老式物品。我在那里住了一晚。这是观赏古城的最佳方式，既可以欣赏夜景和夜生活，也可以欣赏清晨美丽的街景。非常适合拍照，包括日落。酒店没有电梯，但只有两层。房间设施齐全，舒适，配有空调。从酒店出来，我沿着主要街道步行，直到到达北门。这是一次漫长但愉快的步行。花了20元坐了一辆嘟嘟车回酒店。司机开着车在黑暗、崎岖不平的后街转悠，但很有趣。我在参观之前仔细研究了城市地图，并确信司机做的是正确的事情。第二天早上，我早早起床，走出酒店，看到旭日下安静却美丽的街道。那时人很少，非常适合拍照。酒店位于古城中心，因此步行即可轻松抵达大部分主要景点。早餐后，导游带我们参观了中华第一银行、法院，并登上城墙，从高处俯瞰古城。再次，这非常适合拍照。不幸的是，有大树挡住了南街（最受游客欢迎）的景色。在酒店的住宿是一次很棒的经历。

会馆在平遥古城的中央，是由很多个院子串联起来的，面积非常大，建筑非常具有明清时期的特色。院落里的植物、盆栽也非常具有特色，为整个会馆的环境加了不少分。房间面积比较小，但是内部的装饰也是古色古香的，例如屋顶木梁、桌椅和炕床。但是炕床睡起来比较硬，虽有特色，舒适感稍微差些。提供的洗漱用品质量不是特别好，房间隔音效果比较差，尤其是旁边的戏院有表演的时候。卫生间是瓷砖地板和墙面，感觉上与房间的风格很不搭调，水量不是太大，洗澡不方便。

喜歡古色古香、原汁原味的中國傳統民居，可以考慮在此一住，但是與浙江烏鎮內，民居改裝的旅館相比，檔次差了些！|訂旅館後，也電話確認可以到平遙古城高鐵站接往平遙會館，並提供到達車班時間。孰知下高鐵後，打電話給接車的師傅，卻說人不在城內，無法接送，只得自行另外打車到平遙會館。|大廳雖有電腦可以免費使用，但開機速度甚慢。房間不大，設備簡單。不提供免費瓶裝水，環保嗎？但提供付費的瓶裝水。浴室則符合一般水準。房間電視頻道有限，且全為大陸地區的電視頻道，非華籍且不懂華語的旅客，電視只能當裝飾品。|早餐以麵食為主，保證吃飽，美味？保留想像空間吧！|末了，早晨六點多要退房的旅客，可退不了房，因為大廳鎖著，沒人在值班，民宿的特色吧！|

Take the chance to imagine ourselves as characters in those Chinese period dramas by staying here for a night. This hotel was rebuilt to look like a 300 yr old ancient Chinese mansion. Facilities are clean and modern, with heated showers, free wifi, heated flooring, etc. The experience was indeed very unique. We were there during the winter, so generally it was very quiet with few tourists. Not much to do at night in winter. The only entertainment was the nightly traditional Chinese performances at the restaurant next door, where we had dinner. The performance was good though. Take note that there are no lifts to rooms on the 2nd floor, so be prepared to lug your bags up the narrow stairs. ||||Service wise, there's definitely room for improvement. ||||We were there on a very cold night (below -15C). The air in the room was freezing. We saw the air-conditioner in the room but no remote control for it. When we called the reception to ask, we were told that only the floor is heated, and not the bed. Remote control not given as it's winter and therefore we should have no need for it. We felt so dumb asking for the air-con control. We ended up just cuddling in bed as it was really cold otherwise. Thankfully the bed and blankets provided were very comfy and warm. ||||Next morning we found out from the tour guide that we should have turned on the air-con to regulate the temperature in the room. Now we felt even dumber :(||||But overall, it was a very interesting experience worth trying.

借此机会在这里住一晚，把自己想象成中国古装剧中的角色。这家酒店经过重建，看起来就像一座拥有 300 年历史的中国古代宅邸。设施干净、现代，有热水淋浴、免费无线网络、加热地板等。这次体验确实非常独特。我们去的时候是冬天，所以总体来说很安静，游客很少。冬天晚上没什么可做的。唯一的娱乐活动是隔壁餐厅每晚的中国传统表演，我们在那里吃晚饭。不过表现还是不错的。请注意，二楼的房间没有电梯，因此请准备好拖着行李走上狭窄的楼梯。 ||||服务方面，肯定还有改进的空间。 ||||我们在那里度过了一个非常寒冷的夜晚（低于-15C）。房间里的空气结冰了。我们看到房间里有空调，但没有遥控器。当我们打电话给接待处询问时，我们被告知只有地板有暖气，床没有。由于是冬天，所以没有提供远程控制，因此我们应该不需要它。我们觉得要求空调控制真是太愚蠢了。我们最后只是依偎在床上，否则天气真的很冷。值得庆幸的是提供的床和毯子非常舒适和温暖。 ||||第二天早上我们从导游那里得知我们应该打开空调来调节房间的温度。现在我们感觉更愚蠢了:(||||但总的来说，这是一次非常有趣的经历，值得尝试。

　平遙會館始建于清道光十九年，位于古城四大街之一城隍廟街繁華地段，集旅游休閑、食宿、演藝、商務于一體，令您驚喜感受當年晉商生活的典雅與奢華。客棧的位置優越，車輛直達、交通便捷。||平遙會館是一家位於老城裡的飯館，入內必要搭環保車，所有大件行李都放在遊覽巴士，只能帶簡單換洗衣物。住在舊城裡正好可以體驗老城氛圍，晚上可步行逛街滿很方便。

客棧本身分不同級數的房間, 我們住在最高級的, 也見一些國內住客. 洗手間略細, 設備也難跟正常豪華酒店比較, 始終是在古城內, 就應體驗一下吧. 床舖是很有特色地相連的土坑大床, 晚上意外地睡得很好呢. 客棧位置也很方便, 附近就是餐廳商店按摩店. 可惜的是, 吃早餐需要大排長龍, 原來只得一個地方供應早餐給不同級數住宿的客人呢.
