Hampton by Hilton Zhuhai Gongbei Port

I had my first stay here as a typhoon was blowing through.||The location is quite good: near (5 minutes in a taxi) to the Macau border and the Zhuhai train station.||The staff were mostly OK, although a little unfriendly/unhappy --- perhaps due to the typhoon.||The room was OK, but not cleaned particularly well, and showing quit a few signs of wear and tear. The view was OK.||The breakfast was quite good. In a nice space for eating, too.||Overall, I would stay again.

我第一次住在这里是因为台风吹过。||位置非常好：靠近（打车5分钟）到澳门边境和珠海火车站。||工作人员大部分都还好，虽然有点不友好/不高兴——也许是因为台风。||房间还可以，但打扫得不是特别好，并且显示出一些磨损的迹象。景色还可以。||早餐相当不错。吃饭的地方也很好。||总的来说，我会再次入住。

The Bamboo Hotel is conveniently situated a block back from the sea shore and close to the town of Zhuhai. The location is next to the popular Bar Street and quick taxi ride from Jiu Zhou port, the Macau boarder is also very close and easy to get to. It is a recently updated and renovated property that has the feel of Marriot’s and Sheratons, well designed practical rooms with nice beds and good bathrooms these are baths with showers so it’s a step up to get in and out of the shower. ||A couple of bottles of water are provided free and the TV has a decent selection of worldwide stations so you won’t be out of touch. Internet is free but remember this is China and so there is no Facebook, Line or some Google sites. ||The breakfast buffet is extensive but not really tasty, but good if you are not brave enough to go out and find your own Chinese delicacy. Only a short walk away there is superb Dim Sum place and opposite the sea front. For Joggers the sea front is where to run, it extends way round to Ji Da and an ideal area to exercise. ||I didn’t have much interaction with the hotel staff other than the lady who cleaned my room who did a very good job. Check in and out was easy because I pre-paid on Agoda and received a rate equivalent to $75 all in. There are many hotels for a lot less money in Zhuhai but I feel the price and quality matched up pretty well. ||Based on my experience I can recommend this hotel.

I was staying with my extended family. And we had 4 rooms altogether. My room was quite spacious, very clean in my opinion. The lighting was nicely done. The TV was huge. Location was nice too, little shops are just around the corner. And I loved the layout of the room—check out the little nook by the window, we loved it! |Breakfast was superb with wide varities from sushi, grains, noodle station, etc. The only thing missing was room-temperature drinking water. The Chinese don't drink enough water that when asked for water, they'd give you piping hot water. |The service was great—you know how the Chinese are generally unfriendly, but the staff here was very helpful, though they hardly understood what I was saying. I asked if the balcony could open, and a housekeeper came with a smile on her face and a key in her hand and a disclaimer for me to sign that noone would jump out of it. Well, a simple yes or no would actually do it, but I'd just take it as "they went the extra mile" to serve me.. That, or like I said, they did not understand my English.

我和我的大家庭住在一起。我们总共有 4 个房间。我的房间很宽敞，我认为很干净。灯光做得很好。电视很大。位置也很好，小商店就在拐角处。我喜欢房间的布局——看看窗边的小角落，我们喜欢它！ |早餐很棒，种类繁多，有寿司、谷物、面条站等。唯一缺少的是常温饮用水。中国人喝的水不够，当你要水时，他们会给你滚烫的水。 |服务很棒——你知道中国人普遍不友好，但是这里的工作人员非常乐于助人，尽管他们几乎听不懂我在说什么。我问阳台是否可以打开，一位管家面带微笑走过来，手里拿着钥匙，还给我签了免责声明，保证没人会从阳台跳出去。好吧，一个简单的“是”或“否”实际上就可以做到这一点，但我只是将其视为“他们付出了额外的努力”来为我服务……或者就像我说的那样，他们听不懂我的英语。

Stayed at Bamboo Hotel for 4 nights.||||Reasons for booking this hotel as this is one of the few non-smoking hotel in China, and near to the Macau.||||An average property with small room. Big empty lobby with dated decor. Carpet at the middle of the hall definitely need some immediate cleaning. Staff was friendly but you may face some issues if you don't understand/speak Mandarin. ||||Musky smell right on my face as soon as the lift door opens. Carpet in the room was dirty and the small space filled with mouldy smell. The smell was so strong that we had to get our air freshener for our (2) rooms. (Feedback to front office staff but nothing much was done). I can smell Cigarette in my parents' room on Day 2 evening as we entered into the room (we are all non-smoker).||||Bulky furniture taken up much space in the small room, especially the writing desk chair. Those with kneecap problems or elders may want to get room with standing shower (which I did for my parents, limited rooms with standing shower)). The glass panel at the side of bathtub probably is dangerous for kids etc.||||Balcony was locked (which waste of space) and we didn't want to sit on sofa at the bedside which didn't look clean. ||||Plus point was: Bed was big and comfy. (bed in many hotels in China can be very hard)||||Will I be back? Probably nope, not for the price we paid! Most importantly, I can't stand the musky smell!

在竹林酒店住了 4 晚。||||预订这家酒店的原因是因为这是中国为数不多的禁烟酒店之一，而且靠近澳门。||||一家普通的酒店，房间很小。宽敞空旷的大堂，装饰陈旧。大厅中间的地毯肯定需要立即清洁。工作人员很友好，但如果您听不懂/不会说普通话，您可能会遇到一些问题。 ||||电梯门一打开，麝香的味道就扑面而来。房间里的地毯很脏，狭小的空间里充满了霉味。气味太浓了，我们不得不为我们的（2）个房间买空气清新剂。 （向前台工作人员反馈，但没有采取任何措施）。第二天晚上，当我们进入房间时，我可以闻到父母房间里的香烟味（我们都是非吸烟者）。||||笨重的家具在小房间里占据了很大的空间，尤其是写字台椅子。那些膝盖骨有问题的人或长辈可能想要一间带站立式淋浴的房间（我是为我的父母做的，带站立式淋浴的房间有限））。浴缸一侧的玻璃面板可能对孩子等有危险。||||阳台被锁了（浪费空间），我们不想坐在床边的沙发上，因为它看起来不干净。 ||||优点是：床又大又舒服。 （中国很多酒店的床都很硬）||||我会回来吗？可能不，不是我们付出的代价！最重要的是，我受不了麝香的味道！

For a change I decide to stay at Bamboo Hotel. It is within walking distance from Gongbei Border Crossing. Check in was smooth at 8.30 pm. Buffet Dinner was good with good mix of Asian and International Food. particularly impressed with the Sashimi and Seafood. It was replenished even though it was late. Service staff was polite and quick to attend to your request. What is exceptional is the Price RMB150 per person.||Room is clean and well furnished,. Breakfast is included in the price and the spread is fairly good. Overall a nice hotel with good food at a reasonable price.

为了改变一下我决定住在竹子酒店。步行即可到达拱北口岸。晚上 8.30 入住很顺利。自助晚餐很好，融合了亚洲和国际美食。生鱼片和海鲜给我留下了特别深刻的印象。虽然已经晚了，但是还是被补充了。服务人员很有礼貌，很快就能满足您的要求。最特别的是每人150元人民币。||房间干净，家具齐全。早餐包含在房价内，而且种类相当不错。总的来说，这是一家不错的酒店，食物美味，价格合理。

I was surprised to find out that this hotel is beautiful and clean. The name did not ring a bell to me but this is one place I would really recommend for people to stay when they are in Zhuhai. The room is spacious and the toilet is clean. The bedsheets are clean and smells nice. The view from our room is excellent. The breakfast buffet is commendable. The staff at the reception and the restaurant are all helpful and they speak good English.

我很惊讶地发现这家酒店又漂亮又干净。 这个名字对我来说并不陌生，但这是我真正推荐给在珠海的人们留下的地方。 房间很宽敞，厕所也很干净。 床单很干净而且闻起来很香。 我们房间的景色非常好。 自助早餐值得称赞。 接待处和餐厅的工作人员都很乐于助人，而且英语说得很好。

房間的床非常舒服，靠窗的躺椅我也喜歡❤️，基本的配備都有了，很好的商務酒店。||唯一的缺點是隔音效果不佳⋯⋯||中餐廳暫時未營業，2樓西餐廳主打海鮮自助餐，因為不餓我單點了一份奶油蘑菇尖管麵：||少油、不加烟肉、蒜，廚師完全按照我的要求之外，我不得不提這份簡單的尖管麵太完美了！不油、不膩（通常奶油吃到最後會有點膩），每一口咬下去都有嚼勁，溫度剛好所以奶油沒有化在盤中而是乖乖地依附在管麵上～||聽說這位廚師是他們裏面最好的，下次來我還吃這個！

I only have good things to say about the hotel but I can't vouch for the customers that inhabit its cavernous grounds. The hotel is impressive - a large front lobby, helpful concierge and bell-boys, friendly and accommodating front desk personnel, lifts that work, well-appointed art pieces, bright cheery environment all make you feel welcome as you step into the building. Even the architecture of the building deserve a mention - it looked like some thought has went into it and not the typical neo-classical facade that so many Chinese hotels are a victim of. The place gives you a boutique vibe but it seems grander in size. Think Accor-type hotels. The rooms are of a good size with a balcony, a daybed by the small alcove, plush bed with comfy linens, good lighting, good pressure on the shower head and working AC. The not so great things about room are the wifi, the hanging stench of stale cigarette smoke and the TV only having chinese channels. Now, the hotel is only as good as the denizens within its walls. It seem to attract the typical inbound domestic Chinese tourists. Imagine the tremendous amount of noise it generate in that cavernous front lobby. At the breakfast area, there was a melee on the day I was there. Food was strewn all over the floor. Poor receptionist girl had to pick them up with tissues. Which part of the Chinese mentality informs them that they are not responsible for the food that they throw all over the floor? Are their schools so lacking in a syllabus that include basic mannerisms in public spaces? There's so much to dislike about Chinese manners and lack of basic humanity values that doesn't endear me to them too quickly. The hotel, sadly, becomes a vessel and conduit of their loutish behaviour. That said, it is a good hotel - good gym, good location next to bar street, good distance to the airport and the future Zhuhai-Macau-Hong Kong bridge. You can be in HK within a 30 min drive when its ready in Dec 2017. There's a lot to like about the hotel, you just have to stay insular to those insane chinese masses.

我对这家酒店只有好话要说，但我不能为居住在其巨大场地的顾客提供保证。酒店令人印象深刻——宽敞的前厅、乐于助人的礼宾部和服务生、友好而乐于助人的前台人员、运转良好的电梯、设备齐全的艺术品、明亮欢快的环境，所有这些都让您在踏入酒店时感到宾至如归。就连这座建筑的建筑风格也值得一提——它看起来像是经过了一番思考，而不是像许多中国酒店那样典型的新古典主义外观。这个地方给你一种精品店的氛围，但它的规模似乎更大。想想雅高型酒店。房间面积适中，设有阳台、小壁龛旁有一张沙发床、配有舒适床单的豪华床、良好的照明、淋浴喷头水压良好，空调运转正常。房间里不太好的地方是无线网络、弥漫着的烟味和电视只有中文频道。现在，酒店的好坏取决于其围墙内的居民。它似乎吸引了典型的中国国内入境游客。想象一下它在那个巨大的前厅中产生的巨大噪音。我去的那天，早餐区发生了一场混战。食物散落在地板上。可怜的接待员女孩不得不用纸巾把它们捡起来。中国人的哪一部分心态告诉他们，他们不必为自己扔得到处都是的食物负责？他们的学校是否如此缺乏包含公共场所基本礼仪的教学大纲？中国人的礼仪有太多令人讨厌的地方，而且缺乏基本的人文价值观，这让我不太喜欢他们。可悲的是，酒店成为了他们粗俗行为的容器和渠道。尽管如此，它还是一家不错的酒店——健身房不错，位置优越，靠近酒吧街，距离机场和未来的珠澳港大桥也很远。 2017 年 12 月竣工后，您只需 30 分钟车程即可到达香港。这家酒店有很多值得喜欢的地方，您只需与那些疯狂的中国大众保持隔离即可。
