Yangshuo Mountain Retreat

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel. The staff are the nicest people ever. They patiently and warmly helped us with everything - buying tickets, booking taxis/didi, recommending activities, explaining routes. They definitely spoil their guests. We were well taken cared of.The hotel itself is gorgeous. We stayed at a room on the second floor with a terrace facing the river. The view is unbelievable. We were able to really relax and slow down.We also loved the food, both the Western and Chinese!

We had a lovely time here. Location was great (if you prioritise being in nature and scenery)- right along the Yulong River. We enjoyed walking and biking along the river. It was also close to a small, local village and a nice bike ride to Moon Hill, as well as Jima dock. However, it is a 20 minute drive away from West Street which is where you would find more restaurants and stores. We were limited in dinner options since we didn’t want to travel away from the neighbourhood in the evening; but the hotel restaurant was quite good. The hotel offered free bikes to rent and arranged electronic scooter rentals for 50 RMB a day. They also arranged personalised tours with private drivers who were all great; they helped us make trips to Xianggong Mountains and XingPing village. Though the property was slightly older, we enjoyed the rustic style. The rooms were still very clean with great air conditioning, and the view of the river and mountains was amazing from our balcony. The staff were so friendly and helpful too!

Absolutely beautiful, right in front of the river and the caskets in the background. This is a sustainable hotel and they look after the environment which is a bonus! Food is good and reasonably priced. I would for sure stay there again!

We were all so glad we stayed here rather than in the Yangshuo village. It was so quiet and peaceful, right on the river with gorgeous views of the mountains and bamboo rafts floating down the river. There’s indoor dining but we chose to sit outside where there’s many tables set up with enough distance to make it feel like private dining. Both the Chinese and foreign food were spot on, plus a good variety of drinks. The staff are super friendly and speak great English. They have bikes to borrow so we spent the day riding around the bike path. This was the perfect place to stay away from the tourist spots and crowds but still get the views of nature we were coming to see.

We loved our stay at Yangshuo Mountain retreat. It is one of the prettiest hotels situated right on the side of Yulong river. The hotel gardens are beautiful too. We stayed in a river view room with balcony and it was completely worth it. Room prices were very reasonable too. We spent a lot of time chilling in the balcony, admiring the scenery and sipping tea. There is a nice walking and biking track right outside the hotel which goes on for several kilometers along the river. The hotel also provides bikes for free which we used during the day to explore the track and returned in the evening. Overall, we had a great experience and rate this hotel 5/5

Amazing stay at this resort!! Highly recommended! Feels totally well taken care of by staff, who are friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Restaurant food was reasonably priced compared to outside venue. Love it even more that the hotel advocate sustainability by reducing single use plastics!Easy to commute from hotel to tourists spot via DiDi. Communication with resort can be easily done via WeChat if needed.All credit to the front desk ladies for their patience, good-nature and friendly reminders! During one of our evening excursion to watch the acclaimed Liu San Jie show, one of the ladies voluntarily gave us blankets to take along, highlighting that we will need it. And true enough, while other audiences either suffer the cold or had to rent additional clothing from street vendors outside the venue, we felt blessed wrapped up in a blanket. Thank you for the wonderful stay! Will choose this venue again when I next visit Yangshuo.

Great staff, beautiful location, comfortable room, and the restaurant is very good and has many options. Great spot for exploring the area and the staff is very helpful in setting up anything from scooter rental to day trips at a fair price. No reason at all to go to or stay near West Street, this is a perfect area to stay in and explore the county.

A super charming hotel with the friendliest (English speaking) staff and delicious food in an unbeatable, amazing, stunning backdrop beside the river. The view from the balcony rooms alone is worth the trip to Yangshuo. And so affordable! The staff really go out of their way to help guests plan and arrange tours around the area. Love, love, love this place!
