Booking this property in English can only be done through Chinese booking websites like Ctrip and you have to be prepared to leave English behind when you get out here. ||Barely one year old, it’s a surprising find in the backwoods of the captivating rural Wuyuan County and makes a very good first impression: excellent front desk reception and a very stylish, beautifully landscaped resort property on the banks of the Gutan River. ||Tastefully decorated with a few oriental flourishes, our twin room (one queen + 1 double) was large and as comfortable and well-appointed as any good quality resort anywhere. It fronted directly on to the river and looked across to the densely forested shore opposite. ||Some of the room apparatus were beyond our understanding but the staff were helpful and efficient and everything worked as expected in the end. ||We could not connect a couple of our devices to the in-room WiFi which was a little slow anyway but the wired internet worked very well. There is one English language TV news channel. ||So far so good. ||The bathroom was large and modern but suffered the usual Chinese leaks from the shower 7 bath saturating the bathroom floor. Non-smoking rooms do not exist in Chinese managed hotels and this one is no exception. ||Congxi’s real Achilles heel is the restaurant which is unfortunate because there is absolutely nowhere else to dine nearby and even a lengthy drive doesn’t open up much in the way of options. The restaurant food is satisfactory and there is a limited wine list but the service varies between offhand and downright rude – and this is communicating in Chinese so I shudder to think how it might be with English. ||This could be a very good resort hotel but some of the huge investment that has evidently been made in the place should have been directed to training the restaurant staff – starting with the management.

酒店很大，临河。我们住的高级标间，干净整洁。最值得一提的是床垫非常舒服，两个晚上一觉到天亮。吃饭的食府，高大上，菜价与京城的中级餐厅相仿。酒店边上就有油菜花田。服务人员都很友好，见到客人总会说“你好”。总之，非常值得推荐。
