right by the river and close to shops and entertaiment. Gym was good. Dodnt try the swim pool. Welcome fruit.

Terrible hotel, typical Chinese hotel, 5 stars equals 2-3 European. The room smells terrible, smoky. Typical China, behind the external splendor there is a rot. I am not recommending it’s 🫣😞 Good luck in your trip

The reviews on Xinhua Jianguo Hotel seem spot on. This is China - you need to adjust your expectations. In general, that means some things are rough around the edges and English proficiency is spotty at best. If that doesn't drive you crazy, you'll be comfortable here. The rooms are quite large and spacious - quite clean, though a bit dated. The reception staff at check in were fantastic - very friendly and helpful. I checked in very late, and they worked closely with me to order something special for dinner. the breakfasts buffet is ok - more Chinese than Western but again, staff are very friendly and helpful. the only reason for three stars instead of four is that upon check out at about 4am - there was confusion about my receipt and it took a while for us to figure it out. And, making matters uncomfortable were several ladies by check in (at 4am) screaming into cell phones and visibly upset about something (you guess at that one). The point is - no one did anything other than let them scream and be disruptive. But all in all, this is a good choice for any hotel in a third/fourth tier city in China, and probably one of the best in Jiujiang. BTW - very interesting walking street behind the hotel with an array of shops and restaurants - good fun to explore.

Stayed here for 3 nights. I was given a room that overlooks both the river and the city. Nice view but for the ubiquitous smog. Room was luxurious with a good bed, work desk, a couch, and small fridge. Heater worked well in the winter temperature. Toilet was huge with a big bathtub. Small imperfection - there seemed to be a leak somewhere that caused the toilet bowl base to be always wet with a very small pool of water. I had lunch in the western food restaurant one day - it was horrible. Service was great throughout. The hotel is near a walking shopping street and walking distance to a few attractions.

My room was well furnished and well maintained. Comfortable bed, good reading lights, an air conditioner that could be adjusted in the room. ||||The rooms overlooking the Yangtze River were sold out, so mine didn't have that view. In all fairness, I had not requested one when making the reservation. ||||Excellent breakfast on the second floor. Good service, from bellboys and maids to desk staff and assistant managers. ||||Wireless was available in the room. Bathroom had tub plus shower.||||Overall could not have been more happy.

I stayed in a number of cities in China and this was the best hotel by far. Rooms were superbly furnished, clean, spacious, big windows, comfy bed, great shower.||Everything worked perfectly ||Faultless service. Staff spoke enough English to get by and made every effort to ensure we had what we needed||Lovely lounge area, very well maintined||We had a lovely meal at the japanese restaurant again staff worked very hard to ensure we got what we ordered||We didnt try the pool or other facilities.||Good location, opposite yangtzee and vry close to shops ||For the price we paid, excellent value for money!

I recently had the opportunity to spend nearly two weeks at this hotel for business. From check in to check out I had no issues with any aspect of the hotel, or indeed the staff. My room overlooked the river, was well appointed and apart from a minor issue on one night with the room safe, which was sorted immediately, I had a very pleasant time. Meals were more than satisfactory at both the Japanese and western restaurants and the staff who realised I was there for a reasonable period made me feel very welcome and we often had a small conversation within both our capabilities of the language barrier (for me anyway). I would have no hesitation in recommending other travellers to this hotel. I look forward to the opportunity to return.
