The hotel is great. It's just a little far from downtown. I don't know Baoding, so it was too far from the city centre for me. The room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. No English available, but that was no surprise. The staff were very friendly though. They helped as much as they could given the language difficulties. A very nice hotel overall. I didn't get the chance to check the hotel facilities, but my room was great. If you are travelling, most places close reasonably early. So if you are looking for something to eat later than 8 o'clock, it will be a mission. Enjoy your stay.

The Xiulan Baoding hotel is located outside of the city center. It has over 200 rooms. It is geared towards business travelers. There are no probably international hotels in Baoding, as this industrial city is for tourists completely unattractive. ||The rooms are not new, but well maintained and clean. The last renovation took place in 2011. I was upgraded to a business executive room. It is a suite of approximately 50 m2 with bedroom and living area equipped with a large work desk and seating area. The bed is of good quality. ||When I came to room after dinner, the turn down service left a red Carnation on the bed and a few free snacks- As a souvenir a free computer mouse pad was placed on the desk. A kettle for making tea and coffee is in the room. The free W_LAN connection worked flawlessly. ||The bathroom was also clean, but somewhat a bit outdated, equipped with a bath and a shower. ||On the lobby level is an authentic Chinese restaurant where "Street Food" is prepared. Available is the local specialty prepared with donkey meat. The quality of the food is excellent and cheap. On the 1st floor in the so-called Western restaurant is a buffet prepared for lunch and dinner. The evening buffet is rich with seafood, a BBQ station, soups, dumplings and a variety of main dishes. Beer and wine are included in the price of RMB 138.- (USD 20.-). The authentic restaurant is the better choice. ||There is not much in the surroundings of the hotel. At the back are a few general stores. The high-speed train station with connection to Beijing and Tianjin is 15 km away. The taxi ride takes 30 minutes and costs RMB 50.||The Xiu LAN Hotel is in my opinion the better choice compared with the slightly higher classified Hotel Power Valley.

In baoding.. Xiulan would be a nice place to stay||Positive side. Hotel is quite nice, quite clean, staffs are thoughtful specially the house keeping department. I stayed there for 3 weeks, they tried to understand the needs and wants of the guest, I prefer bar soaps and suddenly 1 day a bar soap appeared with a small note. Gym is nice and fully equipped||Negative side. The hotel and furnitures are a little aged, so renovation and enhancement will be needed.||

My company book this hotel during a 3 week business trip. The check in works smooth. They accept foreign creditcard’s and speak basic english. ||The rooms are big but well used and some furniture like the couch need to be replaced. The free WiFi works the air condition not really. The bathroom is clean but the discharge of the shower don’t works very well. The rooms are ok but quite old fashioned - the carpet seems to be used since the 80’s. The room service is accurate and the TV provide HBO.||||This Hotel provide two Chinese restaurants witch i both can recommend and a “Western Style” restaurant. One Hot-Pot restaurant (Minus: Without a english menu or even pictures) and a north Chinese style restaurant located at the 3rd floor. The “Western Restaurant” is an adventure in western cuisine by it self. Unfortunately the breakfast is also far away from any international standard. Some dry or frozen white bread with spam and vacuum-packed cheese together with the same piano track every day. A real coffee machine would be great!||||The Gym is huge and seems to be fresh renovated. A lot of different equipment like a Power-plate and a punching bag. The swimming pool is also in good condition but public. You have to face spitting people there for sure. (I went there once and i think it has to be more supervised. “Hey Dad!! Look!! Without Hands!!”.)||||Resume: This hotel is a little bit to expensive and more 4 than 5 Star.

Xiu Lan Hotel in Baoding is a very convenient business hotel giving the guest really the feeling to be welcome. Reception is friendly, rooms are convenient and the wireless internet access in the room is quite fast. Beside my book, which I was reading during my stay, I found one day a bookmarklet with a personal word of the housekeeping. I found this really a nice touch. I tried out 2 restaurant in the hotel (hot pot and Hebei specialties). Both were ok and I enjoyed the food.

保定秀兰宾馆是一家交通便利的商务酒店，给客人宾至如归的感觉。前台很热情，房间很方便，房间里的无线上网速度很快。有一天，我在住宿期间阅读的书​​旁边发现了一个小书签，上面写着客房服务的个人话语。我发现这确实是一个很好的接触。我尝试了酒店的两家餐厅（火锅和河北特色菜）。两者都很好而且我很喜欢这里的食物。

Nice luxurious hotel. I liked the little gifts in the room. Breakfast has a huge variety. Restaurant connected to the hotel is really good and affordable. Room service food less good. Executive floor rooms are really nice, with a small lounge with cookies and tea. Overall recommended.

Stayed there only for one night on business . the room was spacious , the restroom had Grohe fittings , really didn't expect that . The front desk staff was very friendly , specially , Evelyn and Nancy , both of them spoke good english and helped answer all our questions. The adjacent restaurant (name - western restaurant ) had a superb breakfast buffet . they had a diversified menu , with plenty of options to choose from , even for vegetarians . The dessert bar was nice as well. Was supremely impressed .
