Bianjing Guomao Business Hotel

An impressive tall bulding, with "guomao" in its Chinese name, meaning international business hotel. There was not much international about it. Inside it looked dilapidated, stained carpets, poorly vacuum cleaned, not inviting to walk barefeet. Dust and debris in the corners. Bedsheaths clean though. During my three days stay only one person in the reception had some knowledge of English, all the others spoke only Chinese (luckily I do speak some Chinese) - not much "international" about that. It is located some kilometers west of the central walled city. A bus station near the hotel (lines 30, 31 and 37) will take you to the central part of the city for 1 Yuan. Drinking water, usually complimentary in many hotels, was charged 10 Yuan on my bill (usually cost around 3 Yuan in shops). Breakfast was OK, but no coffee or tea. No coffee or teabags in the room, just a kette to boil water, which, as mentioned , one had to pay extra for. The elevators were very slow. The lobby had one sofa, an automat for cold drinks, and a temperature that had the personel behind the counter wear down jackets and overcoats. Not a likely place to spend time after checkout waiting for a late departing train. I would not chose this hotel again.

这是一栋气派的高楼，中文名字里带“国贸”，意为国际商务酒店。但它却丝毫没有国际范儿。酒店内部看起来破旧不堪，地毯污渍斑斑，吸尘器也打扫得一塌糊涂，让人不敢光脚走。角落里积满了灰尘和杂物。不过床单倒是挺干净的。我住了三天，前台只有一个人会说英语，其他人都只会说中文（幸好我会说一些中文）——这跟“国际化”也没什么关系。酒店位于老城墙以西几公里处。酒店附近有个公交车站（30路、31路和37路公交车），可以花1元钱到市中心。饮用水在很多酒店都是免费的，但在这里却要10元（商店里通常只要3元左右）。早餐还可以，但是没有咖啡和茶。房间里也没有咖啡或茶包，只有一个烧水壶，而且正如前面提到的，烧水壶还要额外收费。电梯速度很慢。大堂里只有一张沙发，一台自动售货机，冷饮供应充足，但温度低到柜台后面的工作人员都得穿上羽绒服和大衣。退房后，这里显然不是等待晚点火车的理想场所。我不会再选择这家酒店了。
