紫竹大酒店

I was on a business trip to visit a factory in Luoning County, about an hour outside of Luoyang. They made the hotel arrangements for me based on my requirements and I should have know something was not right when I could not find the hotel on the web. However, the company was gracious enough to pick me up in Luoyang and take to the hotel. They even picked up the tab for the 2 nights. However, the hotel is in terrible condition: carpets need replacing, the wallpaper is peeling everywhere, paint is dingy and that is just in the lobby. The room was worse: the carpet was dirty and it didn't look as if it had been vacuumed in months, the bath had considerable mold in the shower and to my surprise the next morning, the shower drain didn't and the water flowed out of the bottom all over the floor. Thank goodness there was a drain in the floor. Couldn't regulate the heat - either on or off but had 3 fan speeds which made it too hot even on low heat. The water in the shower fluctuated between scalding and freezing due to I assume toilet flushing in other rooms. Needless to say there was a lot "dancing" being done in the shower. The wifi in the room was iffy and when it was up, it took minutes to send text messages and to pull up websites.||||The breakfast offered only standard Chinese food which I like but in most restaurants there are at least a couple of "western" items. None here except eggs that are somewhat difficult to eat with chop sticks. I could have endured most of this but THERE WAS NO COFFEE not even in the rooms plus they charged for the tea both in the room and at breakfast which I would have had but it is the principle of the thing. If you have the chance to stay in Luoyang rather here, I suggest you do it. You'll be much happier.||||Should I have the occasion to return, I shall stay in Luoyang where there is a much better selection of hotels and restaurants.
