I stayed at Conrad Tonglu for two nights in September, and the experience was great. The hotel is situated on a small mountain overlooking the river, offering stunning views from virtually every corner, whether it’s sunny or rainy. It reminded me of the breathtaking scenery I last saw in Switzerland.||The reception staff, Nara and her manager, were kind and helpful. They offered me a lake-view twin suite with a spacious balcony, which was a highlight of the stay. The staff at the swimming pool and restaurant were also friendly and attentive.||The hotel has a stylish indoor swimming pool with its own balcony, where you can enjoy magnificent views of the lake and surrounding mountains. ||If I had one suggestion, it would be to expand the tea and coffee options at breakfast. The restaurant only offered English breakfast tea and green tea, with no café mocha available, which would have been nice.

浙江的夏天正式进入了梅雨的季节，一切都是湿漉漉的。连绵的阴雨天难免会破坏好的心情，不如出门走走，让雨也成为独特的风景。||从杭州自驾出发，跟着导航，欣赏沿途的风景，走走停停2小时足够抵达。或者乘坐动车，提前联系酒店接送，也是不错的选择。||大堂的落地窗是独特的设计，一眼望去，富春山居的美景尽收眼底。快速办理好入住手续，开启自己的美好假期。||雨后山顶被雾气笼罩，充满了诗情画意。泳池别墅是抢手的房型，自在游泳的同时还能拍摄好看的照片。喝一口冰镇的汽水，不知不觉间就度过了一整个午后。||快乐生活，舍去不开心，是我自己对两个餐厅的理解，一中一西，承担着一日三餐。||喜欢的是家烧六月黄豆面，现在正是吃小螃蟹的季节，鲜美都浸入了面条中，吃了几次，吃了几碗。||当地水里的翘嘴鱼，简单的烹饪方式就能展现出它最好的味道。||早餐则有手工的牛肉面和各种果汁水果，为精致的一天注入活力。||周末时，酒店会在草坪上举办特别的户外活动，只要是住店客人都能免费参加。雨后，没有炎热的气温，坐在帐篷下感受山水诗画般的意境，也可以参与各种娱乐活动，结识新的朋友。||酒店的泳池是拍照打卡的好去处，正对着湖光山色。无论是晴天还是雨天，这里都有独特的风景。||酒吧会在晚间开放，可以点上一杯有酒精或无酒精的鸡尾酒，与朋友聊天，欣赏一场烟火表演。||这个地方，我早有耳闻，但从未踏足。直到亲自来到这里，我才发现它的别样魅力。

one of the most beautiful international chains in China. the location already reveals how amazing it is: the outskirts of a little county Tonglu but Tonglu is no ‘little’ in the history and on economic side nowadays. its natural beauty is as representative as Guilin, with much richer culture treasure to be explored, enjoyed and obsessed

I chose this venue because it was the nearest 5 star hotel to OMG activity park and also because we were celebrating my eldest sons 12th birthday. The accommodation was 5 stars amazing! Our room faced the peninsula and had a fantastic view. The bed linen felt very luxury soft. The food was top quality ingredients. The outdoor swimming pool is maintained to a very high standard. Finally the service was impeccable all round. Special mention goes to Sky who attended my every needs and made the birthday boy feel extra special! He prepared a birthday cake surprise for my son which turned the day into an unforgettable birthday. Many thanks to all at Conrad Tonglu

We stayed through Chinese New Year at this amazing hotel that's nestled in a tranquil water-colored lakescape. Our suite is pretty sizable with the balcony offering a panoramic view of wild nature mirrored in a pristine lake. It's definitely a perfect get-away destination. Conrad staff are sweet and lovely. They're ready to serve you and give you best experiences you can imagine. We're particularly impressed with Wise, a lady who'd go an extra mile making you feel like home. I'd recommend Conrad Tonglu to any who'd like to get away from the urban hustle and bustle and stay soaked in pure nature and upscale services.

The hotel service is just excellent. Before arrival, they will call about the arrival time and special requests. During the stay, you can really feel the hospitality from the staff. Also the facilities are well maintained.

Since COVID came along we didn't leave Shanghai at all, so we were focusing on a quiet place within natural beauty and of course an outdoor pool!!!! As Conrad just opened last year and Hangzhou countryside is always worth to go, we booked 3 nights (6.-9.8.) The hotel area is really nice, you have the feeling of being alone nearly just from Saturday to Sunday more people came along but its fine as the area is pretty huge. Special thanks we want to send to the total staff of the restaurants - always with a big smile and made all our wishes possible, as it seems we were the only foreign guests, everyone really tried to make their best, surely i can speak some Chinese, but it was never a problem also in English. The food is very delicious, we ate every evening Chinese local food also acc. to their recommendation. With a manager as Charles Zhang the hotel really benefits in every sight! Surely we recommend and will return one day! The suites are wide, open and we enjoyed the view so much!!!! ||Just 2 items which was not obvious from the beginning, the pool is phantastic, BUT: the are for sunbeds is very tiny and only 5 guests can enjoy the beds. Also some guests didn't care at all and put their staff directly on our belongings. Thats really a pity, the architect missed that a bit. The second thing is, that we had disturbance by a drone which was in use by another guest, this shall be prohibited as it ruins the silence and the peace as well as the privacy of other guests. ||But as said before, a beautiful hotel, hope to return one day! ||Many thanks!

自从新冠疫情发生以来，我们根本没有离开上海，所以我们专注于自然美景中的一个安静的地方，当然还有室外游泳池！！！！由于康莱德去年刚开业，杭州乡村总是值得一去，所以我们订了3晚（6.-9.8.） 酒店区域真的很好，几乎有一种孤独的感觉，就是周六到周日人多了但它很好，因为该地区相当大。我们要特别感谢餐厅的全体员工，他们总是面带笑容，使我们所有的愿望成为可能，因为我们似乎是唯一的外国客人，每个人都尽力做到最好，当然我会说一些中文，但这在英语中也从来不是问题。食物非常美味，我们每天晚上都吃中国当地的食物。根据他们的推荐。在张朝阳这样的经理的带领下，酒店的各个方面都受益匪浅！我们当然会推荐并且有一天会回来！套房宽敞、开放，我们非常喜欢这里的景色！ ||只有 2 件物品，从一开始就不明显，游泳池很棒，但是：日光浴床的区域非常小，只有 5 名客人可以使用床。还有一些客人根本不在乎，直接把他们的工作人员放在我们的物品上。真是可惜，建筑师有点忽略了这一点。第二件事是，我们受到另一位客人使用的无人机的干扰，这种情况应该被禁止，因为它破坏了安静、安宁以及其他客人的隐私。 ||但正如之前所说，很漂亮的酒店，希望有一天能再来！ ||非常感谢！

The Conrad Tonglu is a well appointed hotel that has wonderful views but inexperienced service staff and a lack of attention to details.||||First of, the pros. The views of the lake are unrivaled and the slowly billowing clouds ambling across the lake and mountains are nothing short of poetic. The design of the facilities is suitably nice, if a bit lacking in personality. The design message seems to be “very high end hotel to drive sales of the adjoining residential villas.” There are several alpaca on the grounds that are pretty friendly. The noodle master at breakfast adds a healthy dose of character as well as delicious noodles. ||||To continue, the cons:||> The staff is really quite inexperienced. To preface, I will say everyone was friendly and certainly tried very hard. However it’s readily apparent very few, if any, of the staff have actually worked at a high end resort. ||—- For dinner our first night, of the 3 dishes we ordered, 2 were ordered incorrectly, with 1 not arriving at all. No one smiled throughout our 3 day stay. I ate at the only hotel restaurant for 4 consecutive meals and each time they made me take out my diamond membership card to see if I qualified for a discount. Surely the staff can remember faces or there can be a system to make this process a bit less awkward?||—- At the spa, the masseuses kept trying to upsell throughout a supposedly relaxing massage. After the treatment, they tried to get me to settle directly with cash rather than signing to the room. ||—- It was raining the entire time and the hotel provides golf carts to ferry guests. The drivers, however, will often just park a walk away from the building and wait for you to run through the rain rather than taking the umbrellas that are already in their carts and protecting you from the rain. ||—- The supposed room butler made himself available through his personal wechat and as a parting gift, sent us two bottled waters and a box of tissues, like we were in some provincial backwater where the toilets don’t come with paper. ||—- Their receipt printer wasn’t working and it took 4 staff simultaneously at the front desk chattering away to fix it. ||||> There’s a lack of attention to details that you wouldn’t expect at a luxury resort. ||—- The door to our patio wouldn’t close. It was obviously installed misaligned but the hotel staff insisted that it wasn’t broken because if you just jiggle it a bit, it closed fine. At a luxury resort, I would expect that I pull the door closed, and it closes and it requires no more dexterity on my part. ||—- The bath amenities are from Shanghai Tang, which is a fashion/lifestyle brand and has no experience in skincare. The soaps, shampoos and conditioner are apparently manufactured in Guangzhou and just has the overall feel of a business hotel shower kit. The products are likely produced by a licensee at the lowest cost.||—- The spa is even worse with a no name local brand that you would expect to see in a second tier massage shop in a second tier city. I believe the brand was called Ming or something and it was again, produced in Guangzhou. The bottles have English mispellings right on the packaging. Surely the Conrad resort can partner with an international spa provider or brand?||—- The elevator call lights are super confusing, as they are naturally quite bright but when you press them, they get marginally brighter. Many times I thought I had pressed the button but in fact that was just the natural brightness of the elevator light. ||—- The bar is open from 2pm to 9pm. It’s a bar in a resort! Surely, I can drink at a bar past 9pm? Is this a resort for only geriatrics, because they should advertise that clearly in advance. There is absolutely nothing to do in the area so having at least the hotel bar be an option would have been welcome. ||||All in all, a very 3 star experience trying to be a 5 star Conrad Resort. If this were a 3-4 star boutique hotel, I’d say it’s amazing. But it’s certainly not what I would expect from the Conrad. I think all of these issues can be resolved with time and experience but as of right now, I don’t think the resort is worth the price. Wait a year or two while they go through their growing pains.
