Hotel is beautiful, it’s spacious and elegant. Really well designed. Staff is very helpful, one of the front desk employees spoke English which was very helpful. The room is clean, spacious, and I paid to upgrade to an ocean room view which was worth the price. Breakfast is good with a good mix of western and eastern foods. The location is a bit inconvenient, it’s still in a developing area so there’s not much around. Old street and other attractions and decent restaurants were about 30 mins away.

酒店风景很漂亮，离景点都很近。每天的早饭也很丰富。客房部邢小燕很周到，打扫的非常干净，服务也很热情。推荐大家来住。

We had a fantastic trip here. Originally we were supposed to stay for one night but due to flight cancellations we stayed for three nights. Staff were excellent in accomodating us and gave us an upgrade. The buffet breakfast and buffet dinner are excellent value and of high quality. The pool is fantastic to relax and the gym is also quite good. There is not much close to the hotel but if you are happy to stay in the hotel it will not be a problem! Our cleaner, Wu Xiang, kept the room immaculate and helped us greatly! Would highly recommend staying at this hotel for a great value 5 star experience!

This was our first holiday since the COVID lockdown and our staycation at the Shangrila Haikou hotel has been amazing. The rooms were clean and the pool and gardens reminded us of Phuket. Hotel service staff were warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Jerry the Executive Sous Chef and his team for taking care of us during all our meal times. The buffet dinner was good value for money, large variety of food and includes wine and beer. Shang Palace, the Chinese restaurant had fine Chinese cuisine that suited our tastes, and they kindly recommended we order half portions for minimum wastage. |We travelled over the Qing Ming / Easter weekend and the team organised special Easter egg painting as well as kids activities for our daughter. |The management staff speaks English but the rest of the team has very little English.|Overall I would strongly recommend this hotel. It’s like a home away from home. We will definitely go there again.
