I stayed there for 5 nights and apart from the fact that the walls are a bit thin and sometimes drunks can be noisy and disturbing, I liked my stay. The staff don't speak English at all but they used Baidu translator (China's answer to Google and probably bigger than Google) to help me with my queries, including writing addresses and names of places in Mandarin so I could show to the cab drivers. They are a friendly bunch. There's a small convenience store right next to the hotel where you can buy daily essentials. Walk along the left side of the hotel and you'll find eateries including a KFC some blocks down the road. There is a buffet restaurant a couple of shops after KFC and two dishes, rice, and a bottle of water cost me just CNY15. By far, the cheapest I ate in Changsha :) Right next to it is a small Cafe - again there too there is no one who speaks English just like everywhere else but a few hand signs and expressions later, you can be on your way to a hot cappuccino along with fresh tarts, pastries, and buns :)||||It's not too far from places like Taiping Street which is great for a night out
