Xijiang Gushi Holiday Hotel

Our room was clean, had a little balcony (very narrow, but you could go out on it), and overlooked the gushing river here, which is wonderful. The breakfast room was also attractive - even if the breakfast itself (especially for vegetarians) was not so great. We were rather disappointed, however, in part because we had picked the place on the basis of the pictures on booking.com, which are very misleading: they vastly exaggerate the size of the rooms and the beds, for one thing. The service was also perfunctory, although the front desk tried to meet our needs. Watch out for the "twin" rooms: the beds there are extremely small, and utterly unsuitable for a couple.

The hotel is conveniently located along the river. The lady at the entrance is nice. But there must be a better choice in Xijiang.
