Yunmu International Hotel

We arrived in Chongqing thinking we had booked an amazing hotel with city views. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed to find out that this was not the case. We booked the hotel through Booking.com. The photos there, as well as those on TripAdvisor, look incredible — but in reality, the hotel looks nothing like them. To begin with, accessing the hotel is confusing. You have to enter a skyscraper and figure out where the reception is. It’s located on the 2nd floor, right next to some sketchy, tacky Chinese fast-food places. The whole area feels more like a very cheap mall food court than a hotel. The receptionist was very shy, barely made eye contact, and she walked us to the elevator that would take us to our room. The room itself was huge but extremely empty, grey, and above all, DIRTY. I will attach photos so you can see I'm not exaggerating. To be fair, the city views were amazing and the bed—although quite hard—was clean. However, the walls had stains, the floor needed sweeping, and the bathroom desperately needed a deep clean. There were no towels; apparently, they use disposable ones. We decided we did not want to stay in such a room, as we felt uncomfortable and the cleanliness standards were unacceptable. Not even an hour later, we returned to reception to ask for a refund. They initially said they would charge a cleaning fee because we had “used” the room and claimed we had gotten into the bed. I explained that we only sat on it and checked the sheets after seeing the poor state of the room. After a 30-minute Google Translate conversation (nobody spoke or understood English), they finally agreed to refund us in full. We lost more than an hour resolving this, had to search for a new hotel, and ended up having lunch at 5 p.m. after a 5-hour train ride. They cancelled the reservation on Booking, so I cannot leave a review there — which is why I’m posting it here. THIS HOTEL IS DISGUSTING. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL.

Not as advertised, a bit scammy. Room smelled like an ashtray. It‘s like an airbnb, in a local tower, not recommended - there are multiple entries on google maps. The location is just so bad in mall. Everything is so strange, this is not a normal hotel.

跟广告宣传的不一样，有点骗人。房间里有烟灰缸的味道。感觉就像爱彼迎，在当地一栋楼里，不推荐——谷歌地图上有很多条目。位置太差了，就在商场里。一切都很奇怪，这不是一家普通的酒店。
