Shangri-La Hotel, Xian

Great hotel, good location, good staff…. Let down by breakfast.||We realise that food was always going to be an issue on any travelling within China. For this reason, in the big cities, we intentionally booked the well known branded 5 stars. We are very well travelled and are fortunate enough to be able to stay at the best of the best. We’ve stayed at several Shangri-la’s in the past…. Breakfast at these has always been a highlight! The one in KL was probably the best we’ve ever seen….. Xian was too ‘Chinese’ with few other options. No labelling of foods.||Gym and Pool were good but the pool is set up for lane swimming, not really family friendly for playing around. Seems to be more catered for visiting paid members who live locally.

很棒的酒店，优越的地理位置，优秀的员工......早餐让人失望。||我们意识到，食物始终是中国境内旅行的一个问题。为此，在大城市，我们特意预订了知名品牌的5星级酒店。我们游历甚广，很幸运能够入住最好的酒店。我们过去住过几家香格里拉酒店......这些早餐一直是一大亮点！吉隆坡的那个可能是我们见过的最好的……西安太“中国”了，几乎没有其他选择。没有食品标签。||健身房和游泳池都很好，但游泳池是为泳道游泳而设置的，不太适合家庭玩耍。似乎更适合拜访居住在当地的付费会员。

Luxurious and beautiful hotel with excellent service and amazing breakfast - worth to add breakfast so much to choose from. |My kids loved the birds in the lobby. The rooms are very spacious, clean and amazing. We loved our stay at this hotel and will definitely come back.

Location is relatively quiet and away from the hustle and bustle - not much convenient stores or food options nearby. Hotel room exterior & lobby is very grand and inviting. However, rooms are dated & felt a little bit dusty in the rooms’ air. Bed was comfy & the room size is more than comfortable for 2pax. Service was okay, but while checking in, staff mentioned we will be roomed nearby (larger group, multiple rooms) but when arrival. All rooms were very far apart. Staffs need to be more aware to assist.

We had an amazing stay at the Shangri-La Xi’an. The location is excellent, with shopping centers and great dining options within walking distance. The service was top-notch, and when we asked the reception for nearby dining recommendations. They patiently guided us and even provided a map of local spots, which was really helpful.

我们在西安香格里拉大酒店度过了愉快的时光。位置优越，步行即可到达购物中心和一流的餐饮场所。服务是一流的，当我们向接待处询问附近的餐饮建议时。他们耐心地指导我们，甚至还提供了当地景点的地图，这真的很有帮助。

This is a clean, comfortable hotel. Rooms are spacious with lots of amenities. Decor is a little dated, but well-maintained. |Buffet breakfast was varied and high quality.|Within a short walk from the hotel are convenience stores, a mall, and a variety of shops and restaurants, including many Western chains (Starbucks, McDonalds, Pizza Hut).

Bar the obviously great infrastructure, the service is what really blew us away. Even in the face of problems during check-in (which are common for foreigners) the staff was diligent, discreet, and knew how to smooth things over. During our stay, not only did they quickly help with whatever we needed, but also know how to anticipate our needs. In particular, Melissa Yang and Emma Wan did a splendid job—be it during check-in or in her day-to-day services. Truly a staff that belongs in any five-star hotel, anywhere in the world.
