Joy Boutique Hotel

I booked a room online for a one-night stopover in Harbin. This hotel was good for the purpose. I only found one English-speaking staff member from about five I saw at the desk, but they all try to be helpful. The Hotel signage says "Joy Boutique Hotel".||I paid Y255 for the room, with Y245 deposit in case you scoff the contents of the minibar or put your foot through the flat-screen TV.||Taxi from Harbin West station was Y35. The building is refurbished, with double-glazing and well fitted-out rooms - not over-big, but comfortable. Towels were very fluffy, bed-linen very clean, bed comfortable, and the plumbing all worked well. The breakfast is very Chinese, but if you want full Western buffet breakfast, you really shouldn't be staying in Chinese budget hotels. The breakfast is not bad: fried eggs, Chinese fish, meat and veg dishes, some cold salads. "Orange juice" was hot orange cordial and coffee was (apparently) brown water.||What would raise this place to 5/5? The only lift is pretty small, and can get crowded. TV (40 channels) is all Chinese, but CCCTV 5 for sports is OK if you want to watch China competing in all known sports - can be entertaining. Breakfast array is somewhat limited (but acceptable). Shower hot water was fine in the morning, but only warmish at about 12.30pm when I arrived - early check-in was no problem. There are heating and cooling vents in the room, but all externally controlled - no in-room adjustment. Still, you can open the window (with insect screen).||It is only a pleasant stroll to the riverbank, the attractive central pedestrian streets (Zhongyang Jie) and shopping areas. Overall, I was very happy with this place.

Das Hotel liegt nur 200m von der Schneeskulpturen-Allee und dem Songhua Fluss entfernt, über dem man im Winter bequem zur Snow-World gehen. Auch die berühmte Einkaufsstraße Zongyuan und der Zhaolin-Park sind bequem vom Joy Boutique Hotel zu erreichen. Eintrittskarten für die Sehenswürdigkeiten mit kostenlosem Transport sind im Hotel zu erwerben.|Die Räumlichkeiten sind kompakt, aber mit einem großen Duschbereich. Das Zimmer sowie auch der Frühstücksraum sind stark überhitzt, so dass man besonders vor dem Schlafen das Fenster kurzfristig öffnen muss|Für Kurzurlauber mit wenig Gepäck zu empfehlen, da Ablagemöglichkeiten für Bekleidung begrenzt sind

The updated name is Joy Boutique Hotel. We booked 2 nights during winter. The rooms were quite compact, and in winter there is no air-conditioning to moderate the temperature of the room. However, the hotel is located next to a street that is usually quiet at night but gets busy in the day. Guests would have to open the windows at night if they wanted their room to be colder. The room was fairly clean and breakfast variety was quite limited. Location of the hotel to the main shopping belt was about a 10-15 minutes walk; think there are that are more conveniently/closely located. |There is a small tour desk run by an independent party who can make tour arrangements and airport transportation at a fee.

Before I begin ... with same address - 180 Tongjiang St ... the hotel on this exact location is now known as JOY BOUTIQUE HOTEL ... no more Lvyue(Admin ... please allow and if possible, a new site for it's new name - JOY BOUTIQUE HOTEL and close site for Lvyue Boutique. But before you close ... please migrate all posts on JOY BOUTIQUE HOTEL in order for others to read & know about it.||||Hotel is well kept overall from room to lobby to breakfast area. It's a good hotel that is centrally located to Stalin Park & Zhongyang St.||||Issues I have are as follow :-||1. Wifi is weak ... then again, the same is to be expected with the rest of hotels in China.||2. Pillow is just too soft for my liking. ||3. The windows is pull-in ... instead of push-out. Thus, not much of wind or breeze coming in from outside. Stayed here in Dec 13th-17th 2019 ... and with the heater on ... wasn't comfortable at all. The room was too dry and warm(totally different from the cool air outside ... it was at times HOT!).||4. Breakfast spread was limited but no complains at all. Am fine with what was served.||||Other than the above, this hotel is good. Would I stay here again??? ... Yes!, ... provided they fix the window to allow the cool breeze from outside flowing into the room or else ... it can get quite dry & warm! ... really WARM!!. Good reataurants nearby with bakery, noodle shops & convenient store either opposite the hotel across the road or very nearby.||||As stated, stayed here from 13th to 17th Dec 2019.||||||Thanks - virgopq

I stayed here for 5 days with my friend. Two receptionist that worked (a man and a girl) when we check in didn't greet us. They stood with no words coming out of their mouth. Girl didn't speak English so she looked muted. Guy could comunicate with us but he was not pleasant at all. He was at the edge to become rude. He was the worst impression of the stay in this hotel.||Breakfast was the same for all five days we were there, not so many meals to offer.||In the room was so hot, and the sheets are hot aslo so you don't have a good sleep there during the night. You can not control the temperature in your room, if you tell to the reception that you are hot they will tell you to open the window, and outside is minus 20 and more in January. The room was cleaned every day, they changed the towels, but didn't change the sheets for five days of my stay. There were some families with kids when we came across our room, they made such a noise that wake us up during the night, children playing in the hall, screaming,,shouting, rang the bell on our doors. ||Possitive things I found are only two. First of all, the location - you are very close to Snow sculptures and Stalin park and St. Sophia Church, Ice festival is also close from the hotel. Second thing is the lady who sat in the lobby, her job was to offer sightseeings and tours for the festival. We took her offers and visited most important things in Harbin, even Volga Russian villiage out of the Harbin but very close, she helped us a lot. She was very kind and smiling. The last day of our stay we couldn't find the masks anymore because of the virus, she gave us her own. If you visit this hotel ask for her, she can make good tours for you to see the festivals and other things in Harbin.

This hotel is strategically located near restaurants, banks, and especially the St. Sophia Cathedral which is just 1.6 km away while passing by the main tourist road, Zhongyang (Central) street.Just a few information to make you enjoy your trip even more:||Harbin is in northernmost China just next to Russian Siberia and the North Pole, hence one of the coldest and most frigid places to visit. Prepare to” bundle up” with a suit that can handle up to minus 30 degree Celsius. Although Harbin is one of the most beautiful places and has one of the friendliest and most helpful people that we’ve visited, it is not as international-tourist-friendly as it is to local tourists. Language barrier is very real; nobody speaks or understands English; Google translator comes in handy. International credit cards are not accepted in many establishments. Money change is very difficult and is possible only in discretely located big banks. Especially if you arrive at night when all banks are closed, make sure you change money at the airport as soon as you arrive to assure you of buying even foods or you will starve for that evening if you do not have ready Yuan or Ren-Min-Bi to spend. It is always a good idea to bring along packed commercial foods and drinks beforehand. Facebook and other social media are not possible in practically the entire mainland China, so settle your airport shuttle and tour schedules beforehand, although these are also possible and cheaper if settled at the local hotel counters or if you take their local cabs. Souvenir items are rarely available even along the famous Zhongyang (Central) Road, and they are mostly Russian influenced (not Chinese). There is only one toilet in a mall, and it is discretely located in the higher floors; if you have incontinence, better locate the nearest toilet first before you dine and drink. ||Our Trip Advisor tour guide Aimee and driver Mr. Joe are very efficient and friendly. Must visit include the following: The Sun Island Int’l Snow and Ice Sculpture Art Expo, the Harbin Ice and Snow World Exhibit, and the Harbin Siberian Tiger and Polar Bear Parks. The St. Sophia Orthodox Cathedral, the Zhongyang (Central) Road, and a taste of Modern 1906 Ice Cream.||Harbin is considered a Winter Wonderland. It is famous for its bright and colorful ice and snow art sculptures. A photo spectacle. Overall, Harbin is a truly amazing place to visit. ||Joy Boutique LV Yue Hotel facilitated the enjoyment by way of their great service and good breakfast.
