We had a great weekend at Hammock'Sway in June! When my boyfriend and I were camping there it was super quiet, calm, and peaceful. We were the only campers he had that weekend, and we took advantage of it and explored the area, especially the river/creek area near our campsite. That being said the campsite is right beside a fairly swiftly moving creek, so the sound of the water lulls you to sleep and the creek is just deep enough to wade in the water a bit. The only downsides to the place are: it's a bit remote, so like 15 minutes from the closest stores which wouldn't have mattered except there isn't a restroom facility, the owner was doing a bit of maintenance during the day, one day that weekend, and you can't drive right up to your campsite (however you can get close and there's a safe place to park your vehicle nearby.) After our initial meeting we only saw the owner while he was doing maintenance, otherwise we didn't even run into him throughout the weekend. We had the whole place to ourselves. So if you want a nice quiet somewhat primitive place with a cool owner and lovely scenery the river camping at Hammock'Sway is definitely for you. I would recommend this place to friends as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Oh also he let us see the campsite before we committed to carrying our stuff down to it, and he would have swapped us from that spot to a different one if we would have wanted to, which we thought was super thoughtful. Another good thing about the place is: it's relatively close to several state parks, Fall Creek Falls nature center, and Cumberland Caverns. We visited Fall Creek Falls and Cumberland Caverns while we were there that weekend.

Even with the pouring down rain, my boyfriend and I were able to enjoy the great outdoors and have an amazing adventure! The host is awesome and very friendly. Private and lots of fun. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the outside! Not to mention the stars were absolutely breath taking and peaceful.

I’ve been camping my whole life and this is the best experience I have ever had! Chris met us at the entrance of the camp. Spent a solid 40 minutes giving us a tour of the property. There are so many amazing areas on his property! Our site was absolutely beautiful. Close enough to the river to hear the water. The property is very pet friendly, every morning, Elliot (Chris’s English Shepard) would come to camp for a taste of whatever we were having for breakfast and then play with my puppy for an hour. Chris was so accommodating and truly wanted us to feel welcome and comfortable. We were very grateful that he shares this amazing property.

I stayed recently with a group of friends and we immediately fell in love with the land. Chris was so helpful in making sure we got the lay of the land and that our stay was going well. We initially planned on visiting the near by state parks but quickly found Hammock Sway had everything we needed! River fun/hiking, an amazing swimming hole and gorgeous views all around. Our campsite was shaded and we had more than enough camping space. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent three nights on Chris's beautiful property, Hammock'Sway. It was easy to find and once we were settled we couldn't get over how peaceful it was out there—absolutely no noise pollution. Chris showed us around the property and let us pick our spot. He has laid out the campsites very thoughtfully, providing lots of privacy from site to site. The creek/river was great for cooling off mid-day. There are some local attractions nearby, but we stayed around our campsite since everything we needed was there. Oh—and the stars came out at night in full force. We had a lovely time, would recommend this place, and will be back again!

My friends and I had a great experience here. The campsite is perfect for hammocks but also good for tents and campers. The newly installed toilet was a great addition and really made the girls on the trip more comfortable.||||Chris, the owner is very helpful and will go out of his way to make you have a great experience. I can't wait to go back with my friends and family again soon.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Chris is a gracious, welcoming, and helpful host, and I love what he’s doing with the land. This is a primitive campsite which means that you have a beautiful piece of land where you can be alone and enjoy the sounds of nature. It’s a little hard to find, but Chris goes out of his way to help you find your way. I stayed in the Pine Forest site which almost felt like another world. I highly recommend this campground for those who want a weekend away from it all. You won’t find this kind of solitude at a public campground.

I can’t wait to come back for more camping! Chris is a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful host. The property, private river access, campsite, and star lit sky made for a memorable and magical experience. If you are looking for a true primitive, secluded, camping trip, book with Chris. You won’t regret it!
