|What a wonderful experience from the time we made the reservation, they picked us,and we arrived at their beautiful lodge on the water. The accommodations are perfect and there were four of us fishing. Great meals, fishing boat and all the captain s did a great job. The family operated lodge are the best and everyone is there to make your experience memorable. Many return groups proves that.

Highly recommend Shelter Cove!! Fishing is awesome, accommodations were awesome, food was on point! The fishing was great, I would recommend it for any age, and any fishing experience level. The owners are very involved. The staff is all very nice and accommodating., The fishing guide was very nice and we limited out on all of our fish, each of the 3 fishing days. Brought home 100 pounds of Halibut, Salmon and Rockfish.

I'm writing this having fished a lot off the Washington and Oregon coasts with guides. The fishing up there is the best I've ever experienced. The guides are experienced and work together to get you on the fish. That being said I am reluctant to say this. The first day was awesome we fished hard for a full 8 hours and caught all of or fish and kept only larger ones or ones that we injured. That is what I came up here for! That night the guides girlfriend came in for a few days stay. The next day he started telling us that we had to keep every fish that hit the deck because we had to beat the big storm coming in. We ended up not fishing for coho because they supposedly moved out or were uncatchable? We made it back to the dock by 1100 each day, so early that the dock crews weren't there. There isn't much to do in Craig or in the lodge the bar didn't even open until around 4. There is a reason for that though. That's when all the other boats came in loaded heavy with coho Salmon in every box. Brave captains they might have been I don't know but I paid for that trip and got a Washington trip with bigger fish. No one on our boat was exhausted or sea sick so my guess is our captain had his pleasures on the top of his priorities for those 2 days. I came to Craig fully expecting to leave them that full 20% tip they suggested, but I'm old fashioned and tip based on performance. So I came home with a good start for my next fishing trip. See you soon Waterfall. One thing that his deeds did afford me was a chance to meet and experience some interesting people that live in Craig. I walked over to the commercial boats docked there in Craig and visited with them. I've rarely meet such interesting and friendly people. I've traveled the world sailed 3 oceans in the service and have never been more impressed by this communities love of one Country. These folks are truly patriotic and passionate about what do for a living. Ryan

Shelter Cove Lodge has earned my highest recommendation. I’ve been fishing with them for over 20 years and have so many wonderful memories with my kids. Linda, Dave & Stacey do a remarkable job running the lodge. I have liked all the various fishing guided over the years, but Kurt is definitely in a league of his own. Best fisherman I have ever fished with! The lodge is very well maintained, the food is consistently exceptional. Most important to me, the fishing boats and equipment are 1st class. I’ve said many times this is truly a “once in a lifetime” experience I am lucky enough to have again and again.

I've fished a lot off the Oregon and Washington coast so I'm writing this with some experience under my belt. The fishing is by far the best I've ever seen! The guides are experienced and work together to get you on the fish. That said our guides girlfriend came in the first night and after that we fished for maybe 3 hours a day and then came in with no coho salmon and never tried to catch them because " they weren't biting". The rest of the boats stayed out and managed to find the hungry ones I guess. I think our guide was more intrested in his rod than ours. There isn't much to do in Craig and the bar doesn't open until around 4 so we stared at the wall a lot. The other boats stayed out for the bulk of the day and caught lots of fish. After all that's what your paying for. I tipped based on performance so not much although I'd fully anticipated dropping that 20% tip they would like you to. So I made it home with some cash unfortunately.

We LOVED our stay at the Shelter Cove Lodge! The fishing eas great. We got our limit of king salmon and halibut every day. Our guide Dave had been at the lodge for many years as had many of the guides. That should tell you a bit about how the owners treat their staff. The rooms were very nice. the dining room and reading rooms were super comfortable. We saw tons of eagles, humpback whales, sea otters, deer, sea lions, and seals. One pod of whales blew bubbles and rose right next to our boat to feed on herring. The food was great with 6 choices for entry’s every night. The owners and staff were sincerely interested in making sure we were comfortable and having the best time possible. My parents are 78 and they really looked out for them. We are already planning out next trip here!

This was by far the best Alaskan fishing that we have ever had. The staff was fantastic, Dave and his team do a fabulous job taking care of the guests. The food was excellent. Bella the morning chef was alway friendly and welcoming even at such an early hour. The evening chef and wait staff were great. Megan and her brother, the fish cleaners were very personable and shared secrets on how to fillet the many fish that we had. Our guide, Dave was great and worked very hard in finding fish and making sure that we had our limit. We limited out each day except the last, falling one Salmon short. I hope to be back soon.

Been going last 6 years and have not seen a inch of dip in service or accommodations. Stacie has been fantastic help in booking and keeping things on schedule and a great person. The lodge is clean and very comfortable for enjoying the sun set. ||Dave and his mom Linda really care about the guests and the whole family is wonderful. Food is excellent joe the chef is a great guy and is able to take something just caught and make something special for you.||The guides are well equipped and boats are top of the line. Dennis Murray has helped our group since the beginning guiding and does his best for good fishing and a day on the water. Just has two rules on the boat . You can ask about them. ||Beautiful location an people . Back in 2020
