NillWhen traveling for work I always stay at Rodeway Inn Located in Encinitas California. The management here is great, free parking, blocks away from the beach and Roberto’s which is an excellent Mexican food spot. The property is quiet, clean and the rates are very good. They just started the remodel process which began in January 2025, and should end in June 2025. The manager let me tour a few of the rooms that have been remodeled and they are very nice With great finishes.

NillMore affordable than a motel 6 for superior quality. Big room, sensored floor lights, touch screen mirror lights, electric stove, quiet and well lit parking lot. Very easy checking in and again, more affordable than a motel 6. Will return.

NillI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Roadway Inn, and I must say, Jack, the desk guy, truly made my experience memorable. From the moment I walked in, Jack greeted me with a warm smile and an infectious enthusiasm that instantly made me feel welcome. His professionalism and attentiveness were evident as he efficiently checked me in, ensuring that all my needs were met. Jack went above and beyond to provide local recommendations, offering insights into nearby attractions and dining options that enhanced my stay. It was clear that he genuinely cared about making my visit enjoyable. What impressed me the most was Jack's ability to handle a busy front desk with ease. Despite the hustle and bustle, he remained calm and collected, addressing each guest's inquiries with patience and thoroughness. His friendly demeanor and willingness to assist made a significant difference in my overall experience. Overall, Jack exemplifies excellent customer service, and I can't thank him enough for his kindness and professionalism. If you're staying at the Roadway Inn, be sure to say hello to Jack—he's a true asset to the team!

NillSTAY AWAY. Consider yourself warned. These people charge a daily $2.50 fee in addition to the regular cost, and a $2 key fee per key. Their ATM charged my card an additional $2.50 on top of the $3 fee it already charges. So I was getting charged an additional $12 on top of the room cost, which is totally unacceptable. Never in my life have I dealt with such unprofessional employees. I'm pretty sure they're forced to work there. This motel is family owned and run very poorly. The son and daughter of the alledged owners deflect every issue to 'management', who shows up only 'once a month or so' according to them. The management is their parents, they're the owners. And they won't acknowledge you if you have any issues. You'll see them around the property, but their son and daughter (the daughter has a very poor attitude, by the way; the son is generally kind, but once you bring up an issue, he'll generally ignore it) are the only ones who work at the front desk, with another young woman you'll occasionally see work the front desk. She seems much more respectful, but she's hardly ever there, which is a shame. They have an on-call maintenance guy who does the bare minimum; he'll take your broken appliance and put it in another room for someone else to deal with. Really! He took our loud AC unit and fridge, and put them in the room next door for our neighbors to deal with. We got theirs. How is that fair to them? The cleaning staff is very kind. Unfortunately, we suspect they're being heavily exploited by the family from our observations. The washers and dryers are always broken. If you want to come here for that, don't hold your breath. You'll probably have to use a laundromat. We only got to use them once in our 25 day stay. I gotta admit, the room itself was good, with the only problem being the aforementioned maintenance issues that were eventually sorted out, and noise complaints. Positives? It's affordable for being in Encinitas, and it's close to the beach. The room is spacious and the housekeepers do a good job. But it's not worth dealing with the front desk 'employees'. We were ultimately asked to leave (illegally) before 28 days due to us calling the police to come take care of the noise because the employee couldn't be bothered to actually do anything about it, despite asking him to multiple times. See that situation for yourself if you're curious; I posted the emails below. I added a recording of the noise as well. Needless to say, I'll take my business elsewhere. I hope I've convinced you to do the same. I don't want anyone else to go through this mess.

★★★★★The Roadway Inn has always treated me, and my friends like family. ||It is the least expensive hospitality location in one of the most sought-after locations in the world.||I don't understand how they keep their prices, close to the lowest in the country.||It is my favorite place to be. I feel at home, surrounded by friends, and even safe as a retired US MARINE.||If you're military, this is the place for you. If you're not, there will be a bunch of us watching over you.||Great place, great service, great communication, GREATEST LOCATION.||Respectfully submitted, |Baron A. Fulford (USMC Retired)

★I'm not really sure where these people are actually staying that are writing these reviews but I'm in the room right now as I'm writing this. If I took pictures of the carpet it looks like a murder scene. Dark stains the size of a pillow. Speaking of pillows, It's like they took the ones from the garbage at the Goodwill. And when I checked in, this room had the front window wide open and the bathroom window wide open and when I closed the windows all I could smell was weed. Mattresses feel like they are ones I would have discarded a decade ago. Smushy and misshapen and I'm afraid to pull back the sheets. The bedspreads look like they do on the website which is horrible. These guys can't go on Amazon and get some $9 upgraded bedspreads? And I tried to pick up the phone to call downstairs The phone looks like it's from the 70s. It also does not work. The only saving factor was that it was about $60 which is still $50 too much. Slow wifi and a TV that buffers while you're watching it.
