Sonder La Ensenada

The location and price are unbeatable! Beautiful beaches and everything is walking distance. We used the the pool and hot tub every day. The courtyard terrace is lovely. Service was excellent. Our room had an electric tea kettle, K-cup coffee maker, and mini fridge, which was very nice. Also, purified water is provided by the ice machine (hot or cold dispensing). This was a big bonus for us. Our room on the 3rd floor was very quiet. Our room felt a little small for 4 people for a week, but the outdoor spaces made it work for us. Would stay again.

The location was the best part, the rooms were clean, a LOT smaller than the pictures made them look, the facility was nice, the pool and hot tub was great. Not much to offer at the front desk, except the one microwave on the premise…. And the one couch, which I thought was in the room… it’s not! Nice people, great parking in the garage that you pay extra for, felt safe and cozy!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Laguna Beach! The room was incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, had a balcony and had a stunning sundeck on the 4th floor that was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the coastal breeze. The pool area was lovely, and the spa was a wonderful place to unwind after a day of exploring. What really stood out, though, was the staff – they were friendly, attentive, and truly made the experience special. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious stay in Laguna Beach!

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ During our stay in Laguna Beach, we chose Hotel Sonder, and while there were some good aspects, our experience was a bit mixed. Let’s start with the positives—the hotel was clean and well-maintained, which is always a priority for us. The rooms were cozy and modern, with a minimalist design that made them feel fresh and inviting. The location was decent, providing reasonable access to the beach and nearby attractions, though not as central as we would have preferred. However, the service left something to be desired. We were surprised to find that the rooms weren’t cleaned daily, which made the stay feel less accommodating. While this might be a policy for some boutique-style hotels, it wasn’t communicated clearly, and we felt it detracted from the overall experience. While Hotel Sonder worked fine for a short stay, the lack of consistent service and the average location might make us consider other options for future visits to Laguna Beach. It’s a decent choice if you prioritize cleanliness and modern aesthetics, but there’s room for improvement in terms of hospitality and service.

First and last time staying at a Sonder property. Upon checking in the keypad to enter the room was non functioning. Once in the room we were immediately disappointed to see stained furniture, dirty surfaces and a smell of sewage. The window shade next to the front door did not help provide full privacy with a huge gap between the shade and the window, allowing for anyone standing at the front door to see into the room. The smell was so terrible we found ourselves unable to stay the nights. Upon reaching out to customer support that night we received a dial tone and no response in their app. When reaching out the next day for a refund we were told that the outreach attempts were not found and that they would not provide us with a refund. You’d have a better experience staying at a hostel.

The thing I loved most here was the absolutely amazing and friendly front seat team! Always smiling and always helpful for anything I asked them. Stayed 8 nights and wish it was longer. Thank you all for a lovely stay. Roof terrace for sunset is incredible. Rooms clean and tidy upon arrival. Always fresh towels etc in lobby when needed. Wil be back!

Originally was looking for an Airbnb for my friends I when I found this gem of a hotel. So cost effective, and the rooms were wonderful. We reserved four rooms. And they all had different design and layout. Fun that every room is different and unique. I will definitely be returning, and looking for other Sonder properties in the future.

We stayed here one night after our room at woods cove was broken and not habitable. This hotel was so disappointing, it was dirty there was bugs crawling around the walls and sinks, there was no coffee in the room, the ac was spitting out dirt and it was so incredibly loud and hard to sleep the exact opposite of what we paid for and it was such a hassle to even get a partial refund. Don’t stay here!
