I was interested in Stone Mountain Lodge as a wedding venue for summer 2026. I booked a tour online, received a confirmation email and a reminder email the day before. Flew in from Albany, NY, arrived 5 minutes early for my scheduled tour time, waited for 15 minutes past the scheduled time, and no one from the venue showed up. I called and emailed and still have not heard from them 3 days later. My family and I showed ourselves around the property and it had beautiful scenery with cute amenities. However, it was right next to the road with loud traffic that seemed like it would be distracting for a wedding.

Cabins are small but functional. Definitely don't stay there if you're driving an RV and you want a comfortable bed for a night.. owners Will wait till you pay them throw a fit.

We recently had our wedding at Stone Mountain Lodge, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the gorgeous mountain backdrop to the serene ambiance, everything about the setting was perfect. We hosted our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on the property, and the guests felt comfortable moving around the space and enjoying the pond, fountain, and duck couple wandering around the property. Ashley, our coordinator, was phenomenal. She was attentive, organized, and went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Her expertise and calm demeanor made the planning process enjoyable and surprisingly stress-free. We couldn't be more grateful for her hard work. We had the pleasure of staying on the property for the weekend, along with about half of our guests. The accommodations were comfortable and inviting. The lodging is relatively basic but clean. We were grateful for dog friendly accommodation for some of the rooms.Despite being located just off the side of the road, the venue felt secluded. The location is also ideal, with Lyons only a 5-minute drive away and Boulder just 30 minutes out. If you're looking for a wedding venue that offers natural beauty, exceptional service, and a truly memorable experience, this is the place to be. We couldn't have asked for a better location to start our new chapter together, and we highly recommend it to anyone searching for a true Colorado wedding venue.

We were coming to Boulder for a work trip and everything was so outrageously expensive. I was happy to find this cute cabin. It was clean and comfortable , it’s not luxury which is its charm. Just rustic cabins. The location was beautiful, the upstairs loft was very hot and the fan provided was on its last leg. We luckily had a small portable a/c in our car from a recent camping trip and it worked great. My only suggestion is for late arrivals have a map or written instructions to find the cabin. In the light of day it’s obvious. In the pitch dark and a foreign environment, we couldn’t find it upon arrival. It was confusing and our porch light was off. I wondered around with my phone flashlight, and no one answered the after hours phone listed. Was happy with our stay and value of the rooms. I would stay again possibly returning to go to Rocky Mountain National Park.

We had our son's wedding and had many friends and family stay. Nobody's TV worked. Some rooms had no electrical in the bathroom. One room had extension cords running in a daisy chain through the room. That can't be fire safe, right? |The room layouts are very inconsistent. ||The service from the staff for the wedding was poor too. I literally asked the event lead, if the food was being unloaded and she said "why are you asking me?". I know we were responsible for the food but she had no overall interest in the success of the wedding. We overcame despite all this and had a wonderful event because we jumped in and did what we needed to do. If you do a wedding here, make sure you have your own event project manager who is on top of all of the details.

My wife & I stayed in the motel and had a great stay. The rooms are big compared to other options in the price range. The bed was comfortable and clean and the shower was refreshing and hot. The location is great for access to RMNP without paying Estes Park prices, and going out to eat in Lyons was fun! If you want clean, comfortable, no frills lodging in the area I don't think you can do better than this. Also - the other reviews about the place being hard to find at night are accurate, the property isn't well lit from the road - but the driveway is exactly where the Google Maps pin is.

Now that Stone Mountain Lodge has taken our money we can’t get a response from anyone there. I chose Stone Mountain Lodge because I had a wedding to attend in Lyons that afternoon and wanted easy access to the venue. I’d been staying in Estes Park earlier in the trip. Had I known what SML would be like in advance, I would have just stayed in Estes Park. First, the room we were in looked nothing like the photos online. Next, I paid for early check in for the sole purpose of getting ready in time for the wedding. Yet, when I was in the shower (which was the size of a dishwasher), the water unexpectedly shut off for more than 30 minutes. I was left with dirty wet hair and no explanation. After I finally showered, I was behind schedule and needed to do my hair, but there was no mirror near any outlet. So, I had to do my hair for a wedding with my phone camera as a guide. Finally, I saw several bugs in the room. It was unsanitary and not worth even close to what I paid for the room. The water issue during the early check in period for which I paid extra money forced me to rush and I wasn’t fully ready by the time I had to leave for the wedding.

Stayed for 3 nights last week for daughter's wedding. I've read neg reviews. No, it's not a fancy hotel. Think of summer camp, rustic lodge. This place was PERFECT for our family of 55 to stay in one place for 3-4 nights. Rooms were smaller, showers are more primitive, but for the price and location pretty good. Heard only one minor complaint from all the guests. If you want a fancy hotel, please go into town. There are lovely more upscale places to stay. Want a group spot with hanging out by the pool, and picnic tables - outside of the room? Want the 20somethings to be able to hike up a path and watch the shooting stars? Want a place for small children to play with their cousins by the pool? Want a place for a wedding or family reunion? Stay here. As for wedding venue: I cannot say enough positive things!!! It was beautiful! Everyone was so taken with how rustic and gorgeous the venue was. Wedding in front of cliffs with decorated arch, open-air cocktail hour on lawn, tented reception, room for our 100 without any problem. The lodge is what it is. If you booked a room at a rustic lodge thinking it was going to be fancy... Well, that's kind of on you. We loved it there and would gladly do a family reunion there again!
