Holiday Inn Express Saint Simons Island, an IHG Hotel

The staff is amazing everyone was so nice and helpful. The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was nice and way better than most hotel breakfast options you can really tell the staff cares. We had a first floor room and the door was difficult to open had to play around with the door and some times use a little force to get in. That really is the only thing that could use some improvement.

Location was great, only 10 min from the horse show grounds where we needed to be each day, also not far from the downtown area with great restaurants and shopping. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was decent and definitely hot. Only real downside was the staff could have been a bit more friendly and I didn't like that the back doors to the hotel aren't locked at night, could be a safety issue.

I was on my way on down to Jacksonville and had decided to find a hotel on the beach but decided to look around St. Simon's. I am really glad I did. I grabbed a sandwich and drove on over to see if I could get a view of the ocean while I ate. The drive over through the marshes and over the bridge was really nice. The drive out to the pier was great with the small seaside town charm and the Spanish moss hanging from the oaks. The park near the pier has a lighthouse and the view lets you see the sunset and probably as sunrise. As I drove towards the hotel, I thought the map was showing me the wrong directions. it was in a residential area with southern mansions on the road and I was literally next to the hotel before I realized it was not one of the other type of buildings I was driving by. Only two stories and one long hallway, but very nice and the staff was very pleasant. If you are going down the coast from Georgia headed to Jacksonville, Palm Coast and further south, you should definitely give St. Simon a look.

The bed and pillow is really good. The room design looks good. TV is big too.||The doors wouldn't close unless you slammed it and others were having the same issue and so there was quite a bit of noise.||The iron board was rusty and so i was not comfortable using it.||The breakfast was good. Basic continental breakfast is available. I wish the paper plate and plastic spoons were of better quality.

The staff was friendly and helped us navigate the area. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel. They had pancakes, omlettes, yogurt and granola, bacon and sausage; pretty much anything you could want for breakfast. It was clean and well kept and the area is lovely. My only complaint is that they used an extremely potent perfume to cover up a smell. We're assuming it's the smell of construction. But other than that, our stay was perfect.

First off, the property was hard to find at night. On the first go my gps tried to take me through a gated neighborhood. On the second go, directed turn into what looked like another neighborhood. It was dark so I couldn’t tell for sure. We turned around and made the directed turn and found the hotel a little ways back. Some sort of sign on the road might have helped my trip there easier. I’m sure it’s not so hard to find during the day. Did not eat breakfast at the hotel because pancake machine wasn’t working. I asked the lady if she was putting more batter in because machine said it needed to be replaced. She said I could just push the button to reset. Pushing the button did not work. She came out and the machine finally made two spongy, half cooked pancakes. Nothing else looked appealing, I will be returning to my usual Holiday Inn in Brunswick the next time.

Terrific experience. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Easy to find and in a good location for our events. Room was clean and well appointed. Close to restaursnts and good walking area. We were so pleasantly surprised and happy with a hot full breakfast!

Everything was done right! Breakfast was tasty, no bad food. When I asked the desk for something I needed, I got it immediately. Staff was very friendly. I stayed 5 nights and I’m critical but I have nothing bad to say. It is in a good location and is quiet. I would recommend it.
