Lava Hillside Suites

My lesson here is to check the one star reviews. The bar does not have a real liquor license (No drinks outside of canned beer and low percentage alcohol). There is no website for the bar outside of Facebook. Information about the "bar" hours and noise intensity are not accurate on AirBnB listings nor google maps on Android devices and are not mentioned anywhere else. On the AirBnB it says "there will be music playing until 10 PM most summer nights" Not only is it winter, but it is currently almost 1 AM and music is still vibrating the residence. For those staying at the Lava Hillside Suites, beware drunk people (and/or the owners and their family apparently??) may attempt to enter the upper rooms G and H. The doors need to be pushed against the weather stripping for the deadbolt to actually lock which we learned after someone barged into our room unnannounced and without a shred of a sound beside the door opening and shades parting. No managers are on staff to handle emergencies and the owner seemingly cannot be contacted while the bar is operating later in the evening. And the sweet bartender could not do a thing to handle the situation and the situation has yet to be resolved. No edits will be made to this review besides spelling mistakes to ensure accuracy and establishment integrity at the time it was submitted.

Great location, rooms are prefect for my group size. Staff was friendly and helpful when assistance was needed. We have stayed there in the past and enjoy our time. You get a lovely suite to crash in, a patio to chill on and take in the scenery. Close to downtown and all that it has to offer

Awesome stay! I had messed up my room reservation and they were able to instantly take care of us! The room was clean, comfortable and warm!

Right next to the hot springs and the rooms are heated with the same water. A very unique experience. The bar is limited but fun

We were really happy with our experience at the hillside suites and will definitely return. The room we stayed in was a little dusty, but ultimately clean, comfortable and had GREAT amenities. We loved the full-sized fridge and were thrilled to discover thoughtful details like the coffee, coffee pot, dishware, dish soap, etc. We also appreciated the incredibly comfy beds, excessive amount of pillows and plenty of fluffy towels. The TV was easy to connect to and the ceiling fans were perfect for those of you that prefer to sleep with the fan on. Despite being a high-traffic area to the bar, the rooms were incredibly and surprisingly quiet and private. The location was ideal and somewhat central for main street activities and offered AMAZING VIEWS off of the balcony for late night hangs or morning coffee. We had no issues with parking and liked every staff member we encountered. Looking forward to staying again!

Cute place. Rooms sleep a lot of people, but there is no sink or mirror in the bathroom, which we really didn't like as a group of girls. There was a nice big fridge and a microwave. The games under the bed were fun as well! The bar had great vibes and was a lot of fun on karaoke night!

This place is amazing if you don’t mind no-contact, which we didn’t. It was our first experience at Lava and they had it all ready when we arrived so we walked right into our room, no fuss. Plenty of space. They had dishes and a hot plate so we went right out and grabbed some eggs and bacon for the morning. We LOVED the beds. All of us independently commented on how comfortable they were. Great views, fun outdoor space—some shared some mostly private (if it was warmer we would have enjoyed the patios, they even had corn hole in our room for us if we wanted), and lots of options for add ons like a BBQ, traeger, fire pit, etc. Some reviewers mentioned bar noises. We were in the closest room to the bar and didn’t hear a thing—but also it was winter… 🤷🏻‍♀️ Potential downsides: -We were up 3 flights of stairs. Not a biggie for us but could be for others—the higher the letter of your room, the more flights. -It was a little weird that the “kitchen” sink was also the one for the bathroom. -If you have an issue and need “contact” the first option was the bartender in the bar above the suites. 😂.

Very fun place the owner is a rockstar. We had a great time for New Year’s.
