The manager I believe was a pain, I had to stay there for a bit but the manager was saying I was destroying his sheets, I got kids but I was telling him my kids didn't destroy the sheets, he was yelling at me, but another housekeeper was trying to tell him the sheets didn't come from us, but he was convinced it was mine. Never go there again, had spiders in our room, it smells.

Marijuana smell through out hotel. Dirty washcloth in bathroom, very thick dust in room. Coffee maker did not work. Woke up the desk clerk at 6:30am to make coffee. Breakfast stated 6-10am. Told clerk of our complaints, he said thank you. Did not care!

I'm so frustrated and disappointed with my experience at America's Best Value Inn after traveling all day from Texas to Illinois. We arrived at 11 PM, and had to call to get someone to check us in. When she finally arrived, 30ish mins later, she immediately demanded an extra deposit. I saw a sign that clearly stated if you're on the "do not rent" list for the area, you'd have to pay this deposit, possiably more but I've never even been to Illinois, let alone been on that list. I politely asked why I was being asked to pay this, and she completely blew up at me, yelling and saying I didn’t know how to read the sign. She also made incredibly rude and disrespectful comments to both me and my fiancé. Then told us she refuses to rent to us. I asked for a refund then because i booked online. Which she told me I dont have your money and not my problem. Honestly, this place was a nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you enjoy dealing with rude, inconsiderate people and giving money away for no reason. I learned my lesson the hard way—sometimes, spending a few extra dollars for better accommodations is worth it.

We came into it knowing it would be crappy for 60$ a night but to our horrific surprise we found fingerprint stains on the wall, outlets that had burn marks running up them, and worst of all a DEAD BABY MOUSE next to my bed… look below for photo, but when I asked for refund I was denied. My roommate had reported hearing the sound of other mice scurrying in the walls at night. Do not stay here if you’re not ready for a petting/taxidermy zoo!

This is a low priced motel but the rooms were clean and quiet and plenty of hot water. We were passing through during the U of I’s graduation weekend so the prices were jacked up sky high everywhere.

The front desk clerk at night was a horrible person. She was mean short-tempered and very disrespectful to a black people. Avoid this place if any way possible.

When we first walked into the room, there were german COCKROACHES running along the carpet. The sink to the left had what appeared to be baby roaches, and there was a large full grown roach in the bath tub. There were weird stains on the wall and the room smelled. Lady at the front desk was incredibly rude when confronted about getting a refund even with pictures of the roaches being shown - the owner is 100% a scammer and refuses to refund us for our 2 nights, and lies about the COCKROACHES. Looking at prior reviews this is always the case and many other people have also experienced roaches being in their room and not getting a refund… DO NOT STAY HERE

Worst hotel I've stayed in in a long time. Price gouged for $200 plus a night because UIUC had a freshman fair. The normal weekend rate is $88/night. The person at the desk was barely communicable. Basically, here's your card, and leave me alone. Lobby was dirty. The ice machine had mold. The sink was cracked. Tub had a crack and cigarette burns. The shower head was broken. Water pressure was terrible. The room smelled like stale smoke and also smelled musty. (Had to go buy febreeze) TV didn't work until I fixed it. Chairs were all wobbly, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Very old and scratchy bedding. The door caught when you opened it. Stains on walls.
