Very cute hotel, really old-timey and charming. Service is hit or miss, some staff members were outstanding, some seemed bothered by requests/questions. Rooms lack amenities. Not even any water bottles in the rooms, no napkins/paper towels in the rooms, etc. Nothing complimentary. Our fridge was even locked when we got there (which they came and unlocked for us but still, these little inconveniences add up and are what separate a decent stray from a great stay). Location is difficult to beat. Felt like the entire city was walkable and within our grasp. Most important thing - Bed was very comfy! We slept great

Parking 78.00$ a day Vallet. Nice hotel with amazing style and lots of history. Ask about the 14th floor. Elevator will take you to one of the early day mobsters secret passage way. Not much food options at the restaurant but plenty in the area. Only 4 towels in room. Bed comfy. City noise still heard and steps heard in halls at night.

The room had bugs. Everything else was standard, but there’s not much you can do to redeem a stay if there are bugs. The hotel did kindly refund the resort fee in response. Check in staff was pleasant and lovely. Amenities were standard. Bed was comfortable enough. Would have been a great, standard stay if not for bugs.

Quite literally the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced and we’ve only been here 1 day so far. First of all there’s no parking for guests. They offer $75/ night or $45/ night to park across the street. Ended up Having to park 10 mins away for a decent price on parking that should be included in the stay if they cared about Hospitality. It’s very obvious the guests comfort is of very little concern here. They cut corners To keep their costs low, nickel and dime guests for every single Convenience. Nothing complimentary included in the stay, no breakfast, no coffee. But you do get some bottled waters upon check-in. So there’s that. Towels are rough and scratchy. Bed are noisy, very squeaky and obviously very old. Privacy sucks, can hear EVERYTHING The person in the room next to me is doing as if they are the same room. They provide the tiniest samples of the cheapest shampoo conditioner/bar soap. Rooms are small and cramped. Just awful. Only redeeming quality is the location.

I booked here on a last minute trip to Chicago. Unfortunately my very first impression was not a good one, upon entering staff was very standoffish and no one greeted me they just stared. When I check in at the front desk, the lady was very curt and was trying to get the process over with as fast as she could. When I asked about amenities, she simply told me about the bar and nothing else. I asked about the restaurant and she seemed annoyed that I didnt know about it. The room was okay. The vent fan in the bathroom didn't work. And my first night here they had a loud party on my floor. Check out was fine, I didn't interact with staff after the first day. Since there was no warmth or greeting, I steered away from the bar and the restaurant. Another review mentioned bugs and I did see some in the room as well. However, I didnt take pictures since I was barely in the room.

Great experience. only terrible thing is that it’s been 16 days since we checked out the hotel and still haven’t received the deposit funds amount of $400 back into my credit card. don’t bother calling them either because accounting department doesn’t answer the phone or return calls. although i left multiple messages. i believe management needs to look into this matter. i don’t think i will be staying at this property again. This holding people money for so long can be turned into legal matter.

Stayed here February 2025 for a cheap, quick weekend trip. Best way to sum up this hotel is the year 2000 time machine apparently broke down here and never left. This was a dream hotel when I first came to the city almost 25 years ago. Not so much these days. Dated would be a kind thing to say. It really hits you when you get on the (very old) elevators to whatever floor you're staying on. The carpet is extremely old, talking at least 20-30 years old, at least. The smell is really bad from the mildew smell, and saw a lot of staining. Rooms on the other hand, not too bad. Mine was clean and also, very quiet with great heating. Bathroom looked renovated. That aside, I found the shower extremely tiny and hard to maneuver in. Towels, well, both bath towels had hair on them. Long and very short hair LOL, God knows what type of hair and didn't want to know. I used a hand towel instead the whole time I was there. The TV was at least 10-15 years old too, but worked. Not there to watch TV anyway. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The bed skirt however was stained. Again, who knows with what. Bottom line, I would never pay more than $55-75 to stay here. The kind of rate you get this time of year on third party sites. People who pay $180-200 a night to stay here in the summer have to be novice tourists. Location is tops but the hotel has seen better days. One last thing, people complaining about the $100 a night incidental fee, they must not travel very often. That's standard at almost every hotel, especially in tourists areas. Same with the "destination fee" of $23.48 a night. Sure it's a way to juice the price but again, so many places do this anymore. Comes with the territory.
