American Inn Cedar Rapids South

This hotel literally saved me. Do yourself a favor and stay here. I was originally booked in a different inn that alleged to be of quality. However, after leaving that hotel because of multiple dirty rooms (one smelled like smoke and the other had dirty sheets) I drove across the parking lot to American Inn Cedar Rapids South. The front desk staff was extremely professional and polite. The room was CLEAN AND SMOKE FREE. The sheets were clean. This was literal heaven after enduring the quality hell inn. Stay here and thank me later.

The staff is warm and friendly. They are very accommodating and understaning. The room was comfortable and had fridge and microwave. A great Mexican place 1 block away also.

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving before 2PM to the manager who checked my ID for our prepay, then presented the key cards with the wifi. |Room #109 was carpeted, clean and spacious with a very comfortable king, desk & chair, couch with table, closet bar, medium sized refrigerator, micro, coffee machine and medium sized TV with hotel & TV guide(Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN, ESPN, HGTV, Des Moines networks & 50+ channels). A large window looked over the parking lot to Burger King. |The bathroom had a tub/shower with quick hot water, fan but minimal supplies.|Good secure wifi, ample outlets, good lighting and quiet under window AC/heat. Indoor pool was closed.|The 6AM breakfast was minimal: OJ, fruit, raisin bran and fruit loops, premium yogurt, waffle, packaged sweet, muffin and undrinkable coffee. |Overall, we had a quiet night’s sleep.

We stayed here 2 weeks.Its very uncomfortable because hotel's service is very bad.Old man is very rude. We rent and paid,not asked for free.We did not ask to clean room because we read comment and someone said they were at someone's room without permission. After 2 weeks, i left hotel and he charged me more $70 for cleaning after 3 days leaving hotel.Infact, we informed to move and asked them to check the room,but they did not.Now, they asked me coming back to clean the room and they refund $70. Why you didn't say that when i was your hotel. You knew we were back to another state. I never see the rude hotel like this. If you let me know you charge more for cleaning in advance, we are sure that i never stay at your hotel.

When did you contact us, please show us evidence? You never contact or call us.After 3 days,It was lucky when we saw $70 bank transaction without my permission and we called you to ask about that after vacation exhaustion. You said we were stolen your items. What are they ? Please list and show me photos as you said. We tried to contact you by phone and emails to recieve photos and evidence. Where are photos? Why you did not respond us ? Is it your secret or you can not tell the truth with us (your clients) ? Why did you hide our another review ? We were wrong, we should left and changed hotel earlier on my vacation. (It was not easy, because we have baby and alot things belongs). How can we paid and stayed your hotel, then we got stress as you said without evidence?

We didn't get to hotel til around 11. A gentle greeted us very enthusiastically. They had a cooler with cold bottles of water that said please take one. He also handed me a pen that hade their phone and address on it. Our room was very clean. Breakfast was good but nothing made it stand out. I always like the waffles. Although we only spent a short time here we enjoyed our stay.

My Wife and I are traveling the Lincoln Highway and I pick motels based upon reviews. This place got better reviews than places costing twice as much. When the man at the front desk saw that I was walking with a cane.He came out to our vehicle and pushed the loading cart into the building for us. In the past year, my wife and I have traveled over 6000 miles on road trips.And this is the first review.I have ever repeat ever left for a motel so you trust me the place is worth it
