This was my second time staying at the Hampton Inn Kansas City The Legends, and it was just as good as I remembered. The hotel is centrally located and usually one of the more affordable Hilton options in the area, yet still delivers quality. My room was spacious, well-laid out, and spotlessly clean. I appreciated the amenities, which included a large flat-screen TV with streaming, a convenient work area, and essentials like a microwave, mini-fridge, and toiletries. The bed was comfortable, and the heating/cooling unit kept the room at the perfect temperature for a good night's sleep. Public areas were clean and well-maintained, making the whole hotel feel inviting. I’d happily return for another stay.

The location is very convenient for traveling. Easy on and off. Close to outlet food and casino. However our stay in Dec 24 the toilet in our room was filthy. Housekeeping must have forgot it. Floor was also dirty. Front desk gave us some wipes and gloves to clean it ourselves. On the way back through on our stay in Jan 25 room was clean however looked like they removed a chair and didn’t replace it. Side of room just bare. The wall was all black I’m assuming where a chair used to be that was rubbing on the wall for years?? Not sure but odd. Also very dark in the room as limited lighting. Worst was the bed. We had two queens. The one queen bed had a huge dip/dent in the one side by the table/light. And it had broken springs so when you moved or sat on it it would make loud spring noises. Front desk people don’t really even greet you. It’s too bad as we really like location but not sure we want to go back to this one.

Great location but rooms are old and outdated, looks like they have tried to update but it didn't work. We had kids running the halls and slamming doors, made going to sleep a little difficult. Front desk person was not happy and radiated it. The room was clean though! Breakfast was ok, the usual stuff, nothing special. However the coffee was really good!!

We were put into room 104 which adjoined with room 102. We could hear the neighboring TV clearly in our room. It's evident the hotel has been remodeled but it looked like lip stick on a pig. The shower head in the bathroom was rusty and so were the hinges on the door. There were chips on the door edges. The toilet wobbled when you sat on it. There was coffee in the room but no coffee pot. When I enquired about the loud TV and possibly changing rooms the front desk attendent did not handle the matter professionally. We were unable to change rooms because they did not have any additional 2 bed queen rooms, but she was not polite or apologetic when addressing us. She was also dressed unprofessionally and had a grey sweatshirt on. I typically feel safe booking a Hampton room but after this experience I will be hesitant and will definitely be checking reviews.

My check-in experience was awful. Ryan checked me in and had horrible customer service. He wasn't friendly upon arrival. I told him I had a service animal and he asked to see my certificate. I advised I didn't have it on me, and he told me I would be charged a $75 pet fee per night. I told him absolutely not and that I wanted to speak to a manager. Ryan asked for my name, which I thought was very odd considering he just checked me in, had seen my ID, and should have had my reservation pulled up on his computer. He called his manager, Alan, and granted I could only hear Ryan's side of the conversation, but many questions were being asked about my animal and myself. I advised they legally were not allowed to ask me these questions, and Ryan very unprofessionally told me he wasn't. As I grew very upset, Ryan hung up and simply ok... I said ok what and he proceeded to hand me my room keys. He never apologized for the way he treated me or anything. This was not a good start to a two night stay. The room itself was ok. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest with strands of hair in the tub and on the floor. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and I was happy we brought our own pillows. Overall, I would not recommended this hotel but on a more important note, Hampton Inn needs to provide proper training to their employees, especially ADA service animal regulations training.

If you want to get mocked by the staff, this place is perfect for you. If you'd rather have pneumonia from the moldy bathroom, or tetanus from the rusted metal door hinges, over a good night's sleep, this is the place for you.
