Days Inn by Wyndham KU Lawrence

Had been there two nights bought are third night online through Priceline and it put us down for a king bed instead of the two queens we have been staying in and they wanted to put my nine-month-old son and 4 year old daughter outside all day over an eight dollar up charge! These people are not worthy of the so called American dream! No sense of community low life people like their service!

Awful. Do not stay here. Black mold. Noise. Tape on the outlets. Money spent on surveillance cameras but not cleaning. Fridge was stinky and unusable. I had 2 rooms and they were both like this. Clearly not an overlooked one time incident. Also had to put a deposit down of 50 and they ran my card immediately for all charges. Not sure why you need a security deposit for this place they said it will be refunded in a week or so so we shall see. I left a night early because how gross it was. Was told no refunds. 238 per night per room because grad weekend.

If I could give a -100 I would. I am in my late 50s and I've never been disrespected and insulted by a company like the manager (tall east Indian fellow) at this hotel. The pictures are misleading. They should be on TV as a hotel for CatFishing. They should be charged for fraud. From the lobby to the exterior, it's total misrepresentation. I witnessed Bedbugs, a hole in the wall, toilet bowl that had dried feces, and mold in the bathroom, bedroom fixtures that had to at least be 10 to 15 years old with more rust spots than I can count, and a floor that has never been mopped. A dank and used mattress cover and twin size pillows on a king size bed. When I told the front desk clerk about the BB, she said oh wow, we haven't had that before. I will move you to another room. When the manager arrived, he didn't inspect it. He looked at the mattress from seven feet away and told me I was wrong, it's not BB. He didn't look. Furthermore, he told me I was foolish for making the claim and this room was non-refundable and I was going to pay the full amount. I immediately left and made a reservation to the much nicer Wyndham which is next door. It was more money, but my piece of mind, the cleanilessness of the room, and the service was far superior. Unfortunately, I made the reservation through Priceline, and I'm currently in a battle to get my money back. It was for three nights, and they have taken all of my money even though I wasn't there there for more than 30 minutes. Totally shameful. The absolute WORST hotel stay in my 59 years living. Do better.

The guy at the desk said that there was a 50 dollar deposit in fine print on a 3rd party website but I looked at another booking and there was no where stating there was a 50 dollar deposit and I told him I had a couple of drinks and he instantly questioned me about driving which was none of his business and accused me of driving a vehicle when my fiancé was driving me because I was not sober enough to drive. Will not go back if people like that are gonna accuse me of something I’m not doing. Location was great though I’ll give the hotel that would give 5 stars if I didn’t get accused of drunk driving:)

The woman with glasses at the front desk is awesome. Some of the staff are great and very cheerfully helpful. Others not so friendly. The rooms facing the street are newer and nicer. Breakfast is very minimal.

Budget hotels CAN be clean. I had to clean up a pet mess from GOD knows when upon entering the room. Wasnt going to say anything, but THEN they keep the 50$ deposit for NO REASON. I left that room CLEANER than it was when i got it! NOT COOL. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

**edit** Owner flat out lied below. We canceled our online reservation because we ordered after midnight and it pushed check in to 4pm, so we canceled that reservation and purchased directly through the property. As soon asI can figure out how to attach the photos of our receipt from the property and our bank I will include. I will also be attaching the pictures of nasty bugs on our bed. I took the picture to the front desk and they moved us to another room. If it wasn't already after midnight we would have went elsewhere but just didn't have to energy at this point. Please tell me why someone would take the time to write a fake review? Come on, do better. Take responsibility for your poorly run property. Original: Absolutely disgusting! Pulled down the sheets and obvious bed bugs. So dirty and sheets were not changed. Do not stay here. It's not worth the savings.

Positive: The front desk woman the first night was awesome. Super friendly and helpful. Location was good for where I needed to go. Negative: The first night room bathtub was stained and felt gritty to stand on. The vending machine soda was completely out. The washing machine quarter slot got stuck and had to have it unstuck. The napkin holder broke. The ice machine was broken. Clock was wrong.
