Motel 6 Lawrence, KS

We were in Lawrence for our son's graduation and normally stay at the Doubletree. There was only one room left in Lawrence when we went to book last March and were hesitant to book at this "Motel 6" after some reviews. The mean reviews are not accurate, and we are picky. Yes, the hotel is old. But, the staff had purchased the hotel recently & you could tell work was being done everywhere. New paint, new bathtub, new flooring, and above all kindness from all three we kept meeting from the front. I give this a 5 for the price. If you just want a clean overnight hotel to stay in you will sleep well. Central a/c no no loud a/c in our room. Silent - we heard nothing & it was a full hotel that night. This is not plush, new, spacious. But this is cared for, safe, and we only saw clean. We were so surprised by how we slept. We are just glad to see this hotel being renovated and cared for. The first room they gave me was not cleaned and smelled like urine. They didn't have any towels to give us so we had to buy our own. The room above us shower started leaking and our bathroom was non usable. They advertised having microwaves in the rooms, there was only one microwave in one of the rooms.

Worst hotel ever. Smelled of smoke. Toilet ran constantly. Nosy fridge. No hair dryer or shampoo. 1 washcloth for 2 people. Trash left on bathroom floor. Bare bulb on bath ceiling. Fire doors didn’t close. Banana and bad coffee were “breakfast.” Price doubled due to special event.

Positive: The staff were all very friendly Negative: I did not get the room i booked. I payed for a deluxe and that's not what we got. We were told that all the rooms were booked so I couldn't get a different one. We also did not have light in the bathroom to do makeup for more than half our stay

**If I could give it 0 stars, I would** Not the best place to stay but you get what you pay for I guess … I didn’t feel safe. The first room I stayed in said it was a non smoking but definitely smelled like cigarettes. It was NOT clean. Very sketchy. I had tow small children with my & even they didn’t feel comfortable The second room was a little better. Did NOT smell like smoke but wasn’t the cleanest either. Definitely wouldn’t recommend staying there. My kids & I only stayed the one night so $250 went to waste

Wonderful Experience New management is really good they help me alot during my stay. The room is in good shape i like the room too. It’s a really nice place to live. Thanks for your excellent service ☺️

Great service, rooms are clean and efficient, pet friendly, exterior might be a little rough, but your room is perfectly fine! CC was a great help at front desk, we stayed from 5/2-5/6

110 don’t recommend… I checked in at 4:45pm and checked out at 5:00pm same day. 15 minutes was all it took. The rooms are completely nasty, unclean. Stains and gunk all over the walls and windows, Stains all over the beds. It smells DISGUSTING. && there are ROACHES. Reminds me of a trap motel. Super sketchy. If I could give this a 0 rating I would do it 10 times.
