I recently had the pleasure of being served by Amanda under Rock and Hawk Bar, and I must say, her service was exceptional. From the moment I walked in, she was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Amanda went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was perfect. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and was incredibly efficient. What stood out the most was her genuine enthusiasm and passion for her job. It's clear that she takes pride in providing excellent service, and it truly made a difference. Thanks to Amanda, my visit to The Oread was unforgettable. I highly recommend seeking her out if you want top-notch service with a smile!

Would give it 0 stars if it were an option. First room we were assigned hadn’t been cleaned. Second room had a busted valve on the shower and could get hot water. Place looks boutique and quaint and the lobby is nice but guest floors are no better than a road side motel. At least maintenance fixed shower in reasonable amount of time.

First time staying here since it switched owners. No more valet parking, the parking is $25 per day and not even secured and not much lighting. I found out from another patron that since I booked through booking.com I didn't earn points. They have old pictures on their website those pictures are from the previous owners. No more on The Hill restaurant, and the restaurant they have is over priced meals. We got to our room shade in bathroom was broken called to have it fixed and we waited 45 minutes maintenance never came. We explored the hotel and both Terraces were closed. All the Terraces looked like they hadn't been used in quite some time with all leaves and trash left out, all the windows on the building are filthy. The bathroom shower curtain is so small it didn't go all the way down to the shower, our room had the holders for shampoo and etc. broken, and some of the bottles were empty. The room I booked from online didn't match my reservation and I booked a room with a terrace it was anything special a few chairs and a mini table, a bumble bee hung around, and tiny red begs everywhere so they don't spray for bugs. Our Terrace also had a window into someone else's room. No breakfast is offered but with their selection going out is better anyway. I usually stay at Marriott and this was cheaper but now I know why.

UPDATE: The 2-king bedroom has a big window looking down the main through way of the University of Kansas. Its a great view! However, there was a 4-5 inch gap between the pull-down shades and no curtain... leaving you exposed to an adjacent balcony, people walking down the street, and car lights at night. The staff wasn't aware, but after our stay, the assistant manager compensated us very well and I am sure the issue has been addressed. Although we requested a rollaway bed when making the reservation through the Hilton App, we had to request it again after check-in. So, if you have a specific request when reserving your room... maybe verify your request has been received before checking in. Its a beautiful hotel with incredible views overlooking the University of Kansas and City of Lawrence. Staff was friendly and accommodating - everything you'd expect. The restaurant breakfast was terrific. There's a parking fee but the parking garage under the hotel is completely closed off to the outside, so you won't have to worry about your car's catalytic converter walking away.

We were in town for the 150th Prince Hall Masonic Grand Session and the 141st Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Kansas Jurisdiction. We needed a room for one night. The hotel is right on the University of Kansas Campus. We could view the football field from our room. There is a terrace on the 2nd floor that views the field. The room was very large with a king size bed, flat screen TV, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom also is large. The shower is large but it is open., no door or curtain to keep the heat in from the water. Otherwise, we love the location and we are very big Hilton fans

The location of this hotel is perfect for anyone wanting to visit Lawrence. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the A/C in our room that they were unable to repair while we were using the room. Unfortunately the hotel was completely full and they were unable to move us to another room. The manager Jonathan and the head engineer Andrew were very attentive to the problem. We were compensated very well for the inconvenience and the fan that they brought us made the room feel cool. The staff in the bar, especially Miracle, were fun and on top of it while we sat at the bar to watch a game. We had breakfast three of the four mornings of our stay and it was good. I will stay here again when I am in Lawrence.

I’d also like to add, upper management was supposed to call me and never did. They just decided on no refund and nobody even ever followed up with me to see what happened. My stay at the Oread Tapestry Hotel was an absolute nightmare. The manager was beyond rude and unprofessional. He actually pounded on my kids’ hotel room door, scaring them and waking them up early in the morning for no valid reason. My daughter is only 19, and instead of handling any situation professionally, he chose to yell at her and intimidate her. Even after she directed him to MY room that was RIGHT next door to the kids room. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. My other children in the room 12 and 7 were scared. He was also incredibly rude to me and my friend, treating us with clear disrespect. His behavior was not just unprofessional—it was outright racist. He kept mentioning “a small African American child” that was in a room that wasn’t even ours. To make matters worse, I later found out that my card was charged for things that belonged to another guest. When I confronted the manager I spoke to about the mistake, he refused to take responsibility or fix it. This is fraud, plain and simple. I am a single mom. I make 13 dollars an hour. I don’t get to take my kids to do fun things like this often. And I am extremely disappointed at the service. I spent a lot of money and the disrespect was crazy. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The way this manager treats guests is disgusting, and the fact that they’re allowed to get away with this kind of behavior is unbelievable. If you value respect, professionalism, and basic hospitality, stay far away from this place. I will never return, and I sincerely hope the management is held accountable

This hotel gives me an odd uninviting and sterile vibe. It is in the best location possible in Lawrence, probably one of the few 4-star hotels. But someone managed to butcher the design and layout of the room. It was not for nostalgia, as I am a KU alumni. I would probably never have wanted to stay in this hotel in the first place. I reserved a deluxe king for myself as the picture showed the potential of a king size bed with a sofa arrangement near by looking quite bright and comfortable. But in reality the room is dissected in 3 sections, near the door is the bathroom sections big and bland, the mid sections of the living spaces with no windows and the last section being the bed, with no doors whatsoever between the living spaces and the bed. The whole place felt very sterile and odd, staying in the Jayhawk tower would feel so much more comfortable than this hotel. The mattress like some other review mentioned was quite high. The ventilation and hvac system facing the bed was quite loud. And the wood pieces as blinds just make the place felt more creepy . The parking fee was steep 25dollars per night, and it felt like an home garage. I didn't smell any sewage kinda smell during my stay here. Also the place as a 4 star hotel could be cleaner, as there were a lot of hair and dust behind door in the door. The only good part were the wireless charging on the lamp and the view you would have on the roof top, but the lamp being so fancy with no buttons. It took a while to figure out how to turn it on or off.
