The Trailside Hotel

What a special place in a truly magnificent setting. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, each with its own unique personality. The beds were incredibly comfortable—we had a perfect night’s sleep. We stayed in the “Honeymoon Suite,” which had everything we could possibly need, and waking up to the view of the lake was absolute perfection. We visited the Trailside after an ATV trip in the area, and it had plenty of parking for both our truck and trailer. The fire pits at night were such a lovely touch! I’ll definitely be back to go biking and hiking right from the back of the hotel, where a stream and endless trails wind through the landscape. I’m already looking forward to snowmobiling from this spot next winter. A definite return destination!

I had heard good things about this hotel. It exceeded my expectations! So beautifully appointed in a setting for a perfect, private getaway with trails, bikes and other activities that destination travelers appreciate. The beds were super comfy with great linens and pillows. And every detail was taken into consideration, including a coffee maker/bar, books, a cribbage board, small frig, a gear rack, and so much more! The new owner did a wonderful job of renovating this established escape. You have to see it to believe it. I give it 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’s!

Reilly and his team are absolutely awesome! They've transformed the place into a total gem — Trailside is now a must-visit spot on the North Shore. The renovation is incredible, and the vibe is just right. So excited to see this beautiful new hotel launch in Duluth!

Hidden gem! 1) amazing access to trails and the rest of Duluth 2) easy access right off of the freeway 3) Sauna and cold plunge 4) Large area to grill and play 5) Rooms are are totally updated and all have unique features 6) Perfect stop on the way up the shore 7) Owners are awesome, they will make your stay perfect!
