**Review for Hyatt Regency Rochester** I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and had a mixed experience. On the plus side, the staff was exceptional, especially Elizabeth at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and taken care of, which was truly appreciated. However, there were several issues with the room that impacted the overall stay. For one, the pool was cold even though it was supposed to be heated. We had planned to swim in the evening, but it didn’t feel inviting at 7 PM, especially with the pool closing at 9 PM. To make matters worse, the hot tub was shut down during our visit. Inside the room, there were a number of problems that were disappointing. The sheets had visible rips, and there was no comforter, which made for a less than ideal sleeping situation. The safe didn’t work, which was frustrating, and the hot water was inconsistent—what should’ve been hot water was cold, and the cold water was unexpectedly hot. There was also no blow dryer, which was a bit of an inconvenience. After reporting the issues, we were moved to another room, but unfortunately, that didn’t resolve everything. There was still minimal hot water, and once again, no comforter. Additionally, there was no coffee available in the room, which is a basic amenity I expect in a hotel of this caliber. Overall, while the staff, especially Elizabeth, was fantastic, the quality of the room and amenities left a lot to be desired. I would encourage the hotel to pay attention to maintenance and ensure rooms are fully stocked with the basics for a more comfortable experience.

Just wrapped up a stay at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Rochester. The location is truly prime, situated right on Main Street along the Genesee River – perfect for guests attending any of the numerous downtown events and festivals, which literally happen right outside the door. Even with shared parking, the garage's multiple exits are a great feature for navigating event traffic.||||The hotel itself is spacious with all the expected amenities: breakfast, bar, coffee shop, 24-hour market kiosks, and a seasonal rooftop spot. Plenty of meeting space is available for larger groups. My room on a high floor was comfortable, and clean, and offered lovely city views. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Interestingly, it seems to be a popular choice for flight crews, which speaks to its consistent quality.||||Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend the Hyatt Regency downtown for guests who want to be in the absolute center of everything Rochester has to offer. It's a fantastic base for experiencing the city's vibrant atmosphere.

Staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming for our work convention. Facilities were clean, and well organized. First convention I've been to where presenters did not run into any technical issues with sound/projectors. ||||Would stay again for personal travel too. Great location and views of the city.

I stayed at this property for work and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, there was only one person at the front desk, Joe, who was juggling multiple responsibilities. He did his best to assist with my luggage while managing an overnight shift.||||Unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my stay. The room was extremely dusty, and my sink was clogged for the entire time despite maintenance attempts to fix it. I also noticed that the housekeeping staff had poor hygiene practices.||||While Veronica was fantastic, and Daysha and Joe tried their best, there were some unacceptable moments. A trainee named Rebecca seemed overwhelmed and sent an Uber driver to my room without my knowledge, which raised safety concerns. She clearly needs more training before handling customer interactions.||||Additionally, one of the male bartenders was rude and passive-aggressive, which was disappointing. On a positive note, Lisa, Cheryl Jasmine were wonderful and made my stay much more enjoyable. They truly stood out as exceptional staff members, and I would have requested a room change if it weren't for their kindness.||||Veronica was very hospitable, and the coffee shop staff—including Carson, Ray Ray, and Jasmine—were incredibly sweet. The slender security guard was also very helpful. Overall, the hotel has great people working there, but it needs significant improvements.||||The rooms require deep cleaning, and simple maintenance like changing lamp shades is necessary. The chair in my room had a large tear upon arrival. The breakfast staff were excellent, and although I didn’t catch all their names, the servers and cooks were delightful.||||The gym could use some enhancements, and I noticed hair in the pool during my visit, indicating a need for better upkeep.||||In conclusion, I rate the hotel staff a 5 out of 5, but unfortunately, the hotel itself only gets a 2.5. With better maintenance and training for some staff, this hotel could greatly improve.

Overall the hotel was clean and better than expected. The staff was very friendly. ||||It was the little things that were just off. No hair dryer, no wipes or towels in the gym, toilets hard to flush. ||||Breakfast buffet was gross. Made to order was better.

Good experience. Not stellar, but good. This hotel has so much potential. Fantastic downtown location and 25 floors offering incredible views of the city. The front desk was wonderful, giving us a free upgrade to ensure we got a room on floors 15-25. One of our rooms was on the top floor, which offered spectacular views of the river and Rochester skyline The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool could use some sprucing up, but was a lot of fun for the kids. Only complaints are the non-functioning escalators to get into the hotel from the street and the Boulder Coffee server in the lobby who was too preoccupied with his phone to bother with customers. Plan on staying here again!

The rooms we had two both clean. The location very good. The front desk crew seemed slow with very little customer service training. Smiles go along ways. I will say the restaurant for breakfast was very good. What made it better was we had a gentlemen waiter. I think his name Garland FANTASTIC, great attitude kind and attentive. A-plus for hiring him. I think he said he had been there 32 years. Give him a raise. Better also make him a trainer. Kind, attentive and right on the ball. Excellent service with a smile. He is the reason I would return to even just pop in for breakfast. All in all very convenient location.

Check-in staff seemed like that had zero experience and did not care! They sent me to a room already occupied! Then acted like it was the computer's fault! I'm very lucky the room was unoccupied at the time. No upgrade, no apologies, no $$ off bill, and did not apply my tax exempt. Poor service all around. Showers not hot.
