We had a very good experience. Mike, the Assistant GM knew us by name by the 2nd day. ||The prepurchase breakfast was an excellent value for the high quality of the food. There is a small on site restaurant and the food was really good! (Must be Portland for such well crafted food.) They do not offer a free breakfast but I prefer made to order food for a modest fee over "continental" breakfast offered at other chains.||Room was clean, everything worked fine. Carpet and coverlet was clean which is something I care about.||Nice furniture with a modernist style. Reasonable room||Staff was unfailingly polite and friendly. The lobby bathroom was clean, which is always a good sign.||Recommended place to stay, close to the airport and if you are uncomfortable with the number of unhoused people downtown this is a great option. You can drive downtown in under 20 min and in the other direction you can drive to Mt. Hood and the parks.||But agree, c'mon Marriott, drop the $10 parking fee, no one else has it in the suburban locations.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and value at this property. It is clean, modern, well appointed, convenient and well managed. I was able to find a great deal through a 3rd party site on a weekend. I didn't expect much but I highly recommend this hotel. I understand there is a vehicle break in risk from past reviews but to be honest that's a problem everywhere in the Portland area. The hotel gives fair warning and advisement. My car was not bothered. I parked near entrance in well lighted slot.

BE AWARE!!!!! Cars get broken into here!!! I stayed here for work several times over the past two months. Initially, I liked the newer, clean feel of the property and close access to I-84. I also liked the safety of having to use a key card to go up in the elevator. However, this past week when I stayed here my vehicle was broken into, then I was lied to by the front desk staff person that this "this type of stuff didn't usually happen..." Only to be told by two other staff members later on during my stay that is was a "common occurrence." 😳 The front desk staff said they had parking lot cameras, and the incident happened under a camera, but they wouldn't show me the footage. They suggested I talk with the manager. I stopped by the desk three separate times to speak with a manager, whom couldn't be found on site the times I asked about him. I gave the manager 48 hours after checking out...BUT the manager had still NOT reached out to me so I called Marriott corporate today and supposedly the property should be "making it right" and contacting me within the next day or two....but I'm not holding breath. 10/10 do NOT recommend staying here!! 👎

This is a nice hotel. Rooms are updated well. As a member, my preference is a high floor. For some reason, they put me on the ground floor. Every time someone flushed a toilet during the night, it would wake me up. Apparently, the drain pipe went right beside the headboard of my bed. Other than that, it was good. There are no restaurants in the area, but it is not that far of a drive to find one. I will stay here again. I just don't want to be on the ground floor. Also, the front desk never has anyone there.

My stay at Courtyard by Marriott Portland East was overall a positive experience, with a few minor inconveniences that are worth noting. First Impressions & Common Areas The hotel presents itself well upon arrival. The front desk, lobby, bar, and community gathering areas have a modern, welcoming aesthetic that gives a great first impression. It’s clear the hotel has invested in keeping these spaces updated and comfortable. Room & Cleanliness My room was clean, which is always my top priority when staying in a hotel. The design felt modern, but some fixtures showed signs of wear—most notably the bathtub. However, nothing was in poor condition or concerning. Staff & Service The staff was very friendly, which made for a welcoming experience. One minor issue occurred on my first morning when I discovered the body wash hadn’t been refilled. Fortunately, the housekeeping staff working in the next room quickly resolved this for me. While it was a slight oversight, the responsiveness of the staff ensured it didn’t become a problem. Streaming Device Restriction One significant downside for me was the hotel’s policy preventing guests from using their own streaming devices. I frequently travel for business and bring my Google streaming device to make my stays feel more like home. I was informed that this restriction is in place because past guests have failed to reconnect the hotel’s HDMI cable, causing issues for the next person. While I understand the hotel’s perspective, this seems like a minor problem that could be easily solved by having housekeeping check and reconnect the cable when preparing the room. For someone like me, who values the ability to stream my own content, this policy is frustrating enough that I would consider avoiding hotels under this management group in the future. Fitness Center & Pool I was impressed with the fitness center. Unlike many hotels that offer only a treadmill and an elliptical, this gym had: • A row of treadmills • Four other cardio machines for variety • Several strength training machines, including one that covers multiple muscle groups (great for athletes) • Dumbbells, medicine balls, yoga pads, and a lat pull-down machine • Fresh towels and a water machine The indoor pool and spa area also looked clean and well-maintained. Housekeeping & Room Service Policy Like most hotels in recent years, Courtyard by Marriott only offers room turn-down service every other day. While this is standard, I do prefer the old way of having my room refreshed daily. If I found a hotel still offering daily service, it would be a strong selling point for me. Final Thoughts This hotel delivers what you expect from a Marriott-branded property—clean facilities, a welcoming environment, and good amenities. The modern design, well-equipped gym, and friendly staff make it a solid choice. However, the streaming device restriction and standard housekeeping policy are drawbacks for me personally. Would I stay here again? Probably, if it was the most convenient option—but I’d also keep an eye out for hotels that allow personal streaming devices and offer daily room service.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The property is newly renovated with modern decor. Bed was comfortable , staff very friendly. We were able to extend for a late check for a small fee ($50) so that we can catch the last flight out. I appreciated that they let us even stay even later than the time. Overall this was a great stay and I would stay here again.

I enjoyed the hot tub and the lobby/restaurant/bar area. Love the TV stations. The patio was great as well. Great service, reception and dining. Our room wasn't the cleanest but it wasn't bad either.

This should be a 4.5/5 hotel within the business travel hotel class: friendly staff, modern facilities, large and well enough done rooms, a fantastic gym, large lobby, even has a nice little laundry room. ||The location isn’t great, other than 7/11, there’s not much right around but it’s just off the highway to get into the city, airport, gorge and anything else.||But for whatever reason, they’ve decided to tack on a parking fee despite being a totally suburban, car dependent hotel with a large lot. The hilton and extended stay hotels next door have no such fee. Minus 2 stars for the nickel and dime approach.
