Let me be clear! Moody Gardens has the best front staff, housekeeping staff and security staff ever! I left an item in my room and the staff were very kind, courteous and patient with me in locating the item. My heartfelt thanks!||Moody Gardens exceeded all our expectations. The hotel was phenomenal and the pyramids were spectacular! My grandson and sister were amazed at the fabulous buffet. The staff here couldn’t have been nicer! ||The exhibits were informative and fun! ||DEFINITELY A “10”! Go visit soon!!

We had connected rooms. Both had a beautiful view of the park. We received complimentary passes to the water park as well. Our beds were clean and comfortable. The rooms were clean and stocked with everything we needed. The pools were clean and the bar had great drinks. Blossom cafe came in handy when we needed just a couple of pizzas for our kids. Staff was friendly and helpful with an issue of very loud and disruptive guests in the middle of the night. Cafe in the park was delicious and delivered our dinner to our room. Above all we had a very fun stay.

We had a great overnight stay for Mother’s Day Weekend. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. There was an issue with our shower, but the hotel was totally booked, so we couldn’t change rooms. They sent maintenance to replace the shower head and the men were very kind, knowledgeable, and quick to get it replaced. Housekeeping was called to clean up after them and within minutes she arrived and we were back in business. This all took about thirty minutes. It’s unusual to enjoy such great service. I think as a society we’ve come to expect mediocre, but this was outstanding!! We will definitely be back and tell our friends.

Brought my grandson for 3 nights and had a lovely experience! He loved the pool, and the poolside games, and of course the attractions! I loved the gardens and the beautiful views. The Rainforest pyramid was my favorite!! They now have a kimodo dragon . Who knew!|? The service at the hotel was fantastic. We ate at the Cafe in the park for breakfast and lunch and everything was yummy. The Starbucks was great and the pizza from room service was sooo good!|It was a very pampering experience I highly recommend! Can't wait to go back!!

I would rather sleep in my car than at this hotel again. After requesting and agreeing to a $50 early check in, I arrived at my designated time to find an event going on and access to the hotel to be completely blocked by security. After almost an hour I was finally able to access my room. Once I arrived the sink was extremely dirty with what appeared to be mop water remnants, the shower curtain had used soap smeared on the curtain and the vanity mirror was not operational. Usually I wouldn't complain but with a 4 star hotel I expect a clean room and access to the hotel at any time. After my complaint, the "early check if fee was waived". Thankfully since I was not able to check in and stood in the Texas heat for an hour while waiting for a way inside. Heed my warning. Don't waste your time or money here. If there is a problem, they will minimize your struggle and the fact that you paid good money to stay at their establishment.

The hotel facility is nice. We got to our room and it smelled like cigarette smoke and very musty. It was very bad in the middle of the night and I woke up feeling nauseous. The next morning I went to the front desk to ask if the hotel permitted smoking and asked for a different room (the bed was very uncomfortable also) but they were sold out and couldn’t move me. I was able to pay an additional $115 to switch to a balcony room. That room smelled fresh and the bed was more comfortable. If I would have stayed in the first room the second night, I would have given this review a 1 star. Changing rooms helped the experience. If I would have had a clean smelling room in the first place would have left a 5 star. ||It’s unfortunate that I had to pay more to be able to stay in a room that didn’t stink of cigarette smoke in 2025. I should have not had to deal with that in the first place. Will I return, probably not… there are better hotel options in Galveston. The dinner at Shearn’s was a 5 star, though. I plan to return and dine there on my next trip down.

The Moody Gardens Hotel is in a great location with many things to do in the area including Moody Gardens, Palm Beach, Schlitterbahn, and beaches nearby. The best thing the hotel has is their pool area. It's beautiful and a great place for the kids to swim while the adults enjoy a swim up bar. Other than that, they charge high end (5 star) resort prices but the place is dated, stained furniture, holes in the wall where some upgrades technology was added, but didn't take a moment to complete the job well and finished expertly. There are holes in the sheets and the furniture drawer handles feel like their about to fall off when you go to open them. Overall, location and the pool area amazing, but the place needs some real tender loving care rank in the category and charge the prices as high end resorts charge. Not a good value overall for the price you pay. For instance, you could stay at a nearby hotel and travel and pay to visit the places nearby (which you must pay for even staying at the resort).
