Inn at the Waterpark

I would NEVER recommend this hotel. Little to no service. Very limited breakfast options for the extravagant price. There are not even any vending machines to get a pop or snack. Our keys quit working and I had to go all the way around to the front of the hotel because they would not bring them to me. The bed was very uncomfortable, the shower was not very strong and the shower floor was very slippery. As disappointing as the hotel was I decided to pay more and park my vehicle at the Carnival port parking. I don’t trust leaving it here. Definitely WILL NOT be staying here if we cruise again.

We stayed there on Dec 7th, 2024. We had 2 rooms and 4 adults. Getting in was ridiculous, i had to call Expedia to get my reservation put through that I had already paid for prior to arriving. Then the room had a roach in it and cracks in the wall. The beds were not comfortable but I guess u get what u paid for.

This hotel pleasantly surprised me, large clean room with microwave,refrigerator and everything that guest needs. The gentleman at reception was so well mannered and polite and was eager to help, everything was explained very well to me, thanks D’ Marcus for all the help.

As others have said, the room appeared clean at first but when you look closer you’ll definitely be grossed out. Nasty looking stains all along the baseboards of the beds. Almost looked like dried dog pee. The floors were sticky and definitely hadn’t been mopped or cleaned whatsoever. Hair in the shower. Stained bed sheets. The room was so muggy and humid that everything had condensation on it, and all our towels were literally wet. Smelled musty so I’m sure there were mold issues like others stated. What got me was the insane amount of cockroaches we were finding. My last straw was having one crawl on my boyfriend while he was laying in bed. We weren’t able to catch and kill all of them but the ones we did I included a picture of. Only positive was the lady did give us a refund for the rest of the stay we had booked. Just had to pay for the first night. Place save your time and money and don’t book here! We found a much nicer hotel along the sea wall.

Pros outweigh the cons here. We had a great time however, the price just doesn't match the room/hotel quality. The pet fee is overpriced as well. I say that because there was evidence of damage to the base boards of the room that haven't been repaired. Charging too much but not repairing damage. Overall, I would come back for the location, beach, tourists area, the attractions on site, the pool, free putt putt, continental breakfast and service.

Positive: The hotel staff was awesome. Had trouble walking the stairs, and the check-in staff saw me. I checked in, and he changed my reservation to a room near an elevator. VERY accommodating! Negative: ""

My wife, a friend and I stayed at this Inn Aug 17th and 24th as the starting point and ending of a Carnival Cruise. The Inn is 6 miles from the Port of Galveston where the ship departs. In order to get to the Terminal our Van had to drive through all of Galveston which took almost 30 minutes due to the heavy traffic around the Port. |The Inn let us park our vehicle for the week for a nominal charge but does the provide a drive to the port.|The Inn itself is an older hotel but in relatively good condition. It has an outdoor pool and a small putt putt golf course. Part of the Inn was closed due to repairs.|The Inn has a main building with a lobby where a breakfast buffet is served.|We stayed in the addition which is a 4 story building on stilts. The cars are parked underneath. The building shows evidence of its age. There is a little scent of staleness that comes with an older hotel. However, the Inn is well kept and our room was clean and had all the amenities needed. The rooms are large so even with two queen beds we had lots of room. There was a fridge, microwave, a coffee maker and a table with 2 chairs. |The bathroom shows its age with old handles and shower head but everything worked properly and we had lots of hot water. |My wife used the pool and said it was nice. This is a larger pool than you normally see in newer hotels. She also played the putt putt course and liked it as well.|The breakfast buffet was adequate but the coffee was awful. The second night that we stayed we opted to eat out for breakfast.|Overall this is an older hotel in good condition with a friendly staff. It was much cheaper to leave our car at the Inn than to pay the fortune they want to park it at the Port. The room rate was also more reasonable than for the hotels on Seawall Blvd overlooking the ocean. If you are planning on a cruise you should consider staying at this Inn.

This place is in dire need of a remodel, the rooms are old, the carpet is disgustingly dirty, and old, the breakfast was not very good, the water pressure is terrible. It was trickling out of our shower and our view was absolutely horrible..
