NillI'm 69 and my friend and I visited here at the Galveston Beach Hotel for a getaway and had a terrible time but the Breakfast was Awesome as well as the very kind and helpful Assistant who handles the Buffets. But as far as everything else not so much. When we went to the Front Desk to get extra Nights and needed to wait for our family to send us more money we often got certain Office attendees who said they were told by the General Manager I believe that yesterday was the one who had told us we had to leave the premises yesterday morning, so eventhough we had no money we went to the Holiday Inn Express next door and their Manager at the Front Desk welcomed me so politely. Got me a chair and helped me bring my luggage in to the lobby. It's a shame that the Galveston Beach Hotel didn't give us the same warming feeling when we left as when we checked in there. But we did get very good Service when we arrived but we were forced off the property today to leave, a few others not so much, including the Office Mgr who forced us to leave the property immediately. Which we did, we had a very bad experience and won't be back due to roaches in our room roaches were on the bed too ( not just 1 but more than 2)and the beds, the rusted Bathtubs was well as the interior of the tub was peeling off. Oh their room phones never worked the whole time we were there. Happy Traveling.....

NillGreat location however this is a horrible disgusting hotel. My room was filled with cockroaches. Not just one or two. More than I could count. After killing my 5th cockroach within the first hour of being in my room I left. The front desk was not understanding and seemed as if they hear this everyday. I recommend to avoid this hotel at all costs. It's a shame that such an amazing location is such a sham of a hotel.

★Hotel needs to be fumigated. I saw several cockroaches including many in hallways and one on my kiddo's toothbrush. I hope we don't carry any home. ||Check in was easy, but my key cards kept not working. Could be my fault since my cell is usually in my pockets. ||One of the secure doors to the parking lot is broken. No security imo. ||Paint started peeling from the bathrooms. ||The breakfast was toasts, scrambled eggs, cereal, and make your own waffles. Not horrible, but could be better.||I suppose I get what I paid for.

NillI had a disappointing experience at this hotel. Unfortunately, there were a significant number of cockroaches throughout the property, including in the bathroom and around the walls, and even on my toothbrush. The breakfast was decent, offering powdered eggs, bread options like bagels and muffins, juice, and waffles, which was adequate. While the guest service was functional, I didn't feel particularly welcomed, as there was little interaction beyond what was necessary. One of the doors leading to the parking lot was also malfunctioning, requiring multiple attempts with the key card to open it. The pool area could use some improvements. While the hot tub worked fine, the main pool was quite dirty, which was off-putting. Although the view from the beach was beautiful, I would not stay at this hotel again. There were too many issues that affected my experience.

Nill3/5 We arrived and room was picked up and cleaned , small rust on edges in the shower but nothing major . I liked the view on the balcony and the ac kept my room cool how I like it ! The breakfast was just eggs and waffles everyday so nothing great for breakfast . Our refrigerator barely worked , water was the same temperature when I put it in hours ago . It was a good stay for the price we got . But if you’re looking for luxurious and a good comfortable stay . I wouldn’t recommend. But just to get out of town and have a nice view of the ocean on a short budget . It’s a good deal

NillJust a quick stop to visit the beach. The location was perfect since you can walk across the street directly to the beach. The room was super nice, big and roomy with a small balcony. I knocked off a star because there was rust in the bathtub so I wasn't comfortable taking a bath(shower was okay), the gaps under and around the door(blocked it with a towel), and that they didn't have dark curtains to block out the light from the balcony window. The window did have a shade for privacy but it let in a lot of light. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

NillThe location couldn't be beat. The hotel wasn't the cleanest but I've seen worse. The front desk staff clearly didn't want to be there. Multiple people over the course of my stay were at the desk. While they help when asked and weren't rude about it, they never smiled and for sure seemed put out by any request that made them get up. The room doors all locked but there were awkward gaps that did make me feel a little uneasy. Breakfast was OK, all the nothings you'd expect minus bacon/sausage. At the end of the day. I'd stay here again, why, the cost for location was worth it AND our room literally had the best a/c I have ever experienced. If you are someone who hangs out in hotel room on vacation this may not be the place for you but for me, a hotel is just a place to clean up, sleep, and eat breakfast. This checked those boxes.

NillNice clean room. Tub / shower. Tub was old and rusty, but clean and functional. It's a nice older hotel that could use some updates in the bathroom. Bed and linen was clean and comfortable. A/C works great and kept room nice and cool. Balcony was small but offered spectacular views. I would come back again!!
