DoubleTree by Hilton Milwaukee - Brookfield

Double Tree—Brookfield is solidly becoming our "go-to" hotel preference when visiting the area (mostly in February and April for volunteering at some larger events). Rooms are always clean and fresh-smelling, well adorned, and warm-feeling. Beds are always great. The staff is always friendly and helpful! The only burp this year was a plugged commode that defied clearing. We were quickly moved next door to a new room. As with most hotels we frequent, the air system vents could be cleaned a bit more often. We are often early launchers for the day so we skip the breakfast options. Good parking. Easy to get back on the main drag. Great location within the Brookfield business area.

Positive: As a repeat customer: Great location. Well-maintained and appearing public areas. Safe neighborhood. FABULOUS STAFF!! (There is only one service burp ... see next box) Negative: Down / down-like Pillows. It was hard to support my head & neck comfortably. This is totally a personal preference. Had requested an extra pillow from front desk on our last night - but it never arrived - it was somewhat busy that night. Not a big deal.

Very nice hotel and great location, Close to restaurants and stores. Breakfast was hot and good. Pool and weight room small but do the job. Rooms were cleaned and well maintained. You could hear people in the hallways but they kept everything quiet at night. Staff was very courteous and helpful.

The good: the bed is very comfy and the room was clean. Wifi works well too. Good location too. The bad: it's an older building and it needs maintenance. The ceiling in the shower has painted over rot, the sink faucet leaks, the toilet runs... when the doors to other rooms slam the walls in the room nearly shake! The ugly: they put me in the middle of a girls gymnastics team. They are very loud, constantly knocking on each other's doors, slaming the doors, being kids... it's a big hotel and pretty empty. Not sure who I made mad to get placed there!

The hotel and the room are all clean. When going there think of when you download an app with in app purchases. The water bottles in the room are $3 each and breakfast downstairs is $15 a person. It’s expensive. The bed sheets and blankets are clean but the bed is VERY FIRM. Similar to laying a slightly fluffy blanket on the floor. All together not the worst hotel but probably won’t stay again.

Booked online. Upon arrival I had to provide a credit card for incidentals (as expected). Someone was clearly wrong with their system as NONE of my credit cards which are all valid and active. I was told to call my bank at midnight….. after giving a blank stare the gentleman agreed to “let” me pay cash for incidentals for my room that was already paid for. Room is good enough, bad taste in my mouth though.

The service was unbelievably awful- not the cleaning people, love them, but the receptionists and managers. They messed up our reservation multiple times, and then had MASSIVE attitudes about fixing it. They were so insanely rude to my father- he had been nothing but patient- and he's already going through a ton of hardships right now, a little compassion isn't hard to muster up. It's also strange that you have to pay for breakfast, especially when the food isn't anything special. The location is very convenient. The room wasn't what they told us it was- supposed to be two king beds, ended up being a king and a couch- the heating/ cooling is only one way or the other (boiling hot or freezing), and the furniture is arranged in the worst possible manner. I would give the service less stars, if I could.

Our room was nice we didn’t have any issues with the room. Breakfast definitely wasn’t worth $15, it’s been free at other places for the same thing. The staff were very kind and helpful when we talked to them. Overall we had a good experience, but the layout of the building isn’t customer friendly.
