Our trip was fabulous. We traveled with our 4 children and we all came away with so much JOY! We were greeted by owner Matt after our trip in a float plane. We settled in to our chalets (nice, clean with a perfect view of Mt Russel and the mountain range) and headed out with Luke and Jacob to the river. The sockeye were everywhere around us. They were at the end of their spawn, so were a bit slow. The rainbow trout were feasting on fish eggs. Between the 6 of us we caught at least 40 fish (Sockeye, Rainbow trout, Arctic Grayling). Our daughters who had never fly fished were reeling them in with the rest of us (all catch and release). We returned to a rustic wonderful sauna and hot tub on the edge of the lake. We soaked and laughed and enjoyed the first of three days with these great folks. We woke to morning coffee delivered to our chalet. The chef and staff were above and beyond and the food was spectacular. Our kids gathered at night with the guides and staff and had a great time. Jacob, Luke, and Tony, our guides were kind, fun, informative, and masters of their craft. Many thanks from the Ash family to The Chelatna family for making this the trip of a lifetime.

Chelatna Lake Lodge is a perfect Alaskan lake-front lodge, accessible only by sea-plane, nestled in the mountains of the Denali National Park. The fishing, hiking and boating is epic. Matt the host is awesome, Tom the chef is truly top notch but the best has to be the fishing and nature guides who are epic! Hayden’s Bush Bash was a one-of-a-kind hike (and thanks for the fishing flies) but the award goes to LUKE, the best guide ever! See you down in NZ baby. Sweet as…

You don’t have to just be a fisher-person to go here!! The fishing yes is out of this world, salmon swim around your feet whilst you catch trout! We had an awesome guide Luke, who showed us how to fly fish and I then caught my first ever trout in 26 seconds!! His knowledge and personality shone through and we became good friends. He listened to what we enjoyed and for me that was photography and my husband and I kayaking and he embraced that to help us get the most from our stay.|The wilderness is stunningly beautiful and full of life.|The lodges were rustic yet very comfortable and Tom the chef was fantastic- you will not go hungry here! |Loved our stay soo much we left with extended family .

What a treat we just had during our Alaska experience. They received us with warmth from the minute we got down from the floatplane, chalet was well maintained, clean rooms, spacious closets, hot water.. their amenities are so comfortable and warm. Location right across the beautiful lake Chelatna is amazing. Nature at its best. Their dining room is amazing. Chef Tom is amazing and he whipped up healthy food for all meals. Their service was 5 star- We went on kayaking one day, thoroughly enjoyed our company with our guide Brogan Next day we went on a very difficult hike (knee cap) accompanied by Brad, skilled and friendly. We made it to the top and trail was very edible with berries and all kinds of flowers. Our dining room hosts were super- We enjoyed playing with Luis-(their dog) Last but not the least, Matt and Emily were great hosts with nothing but warmth. Thank you for creating the safe haven for people like us to enjoy the nature while still enjoying the normalsy. Their early morning coffee at the door was such a fantastic start for the day. Creating this place was not an easy joke. I saw all the historic photos. Wow just speechless. Go with open mind, enjoy the place and serenity. They even had starlink wifi at the main lobby.

What a special place! From the minute we arrived and were greeted by our host and guides, we knew we were in for a treat. Our cabin was cozy, the scenery spectacular and our meals the best that we had for the two weeks we were in Alaska. This is truly the place to come if you want to fish. The salmon were running and it was quite exciting!

The owners make you feel like family. The cabin was very comfortable and perfect for our family. The scenery is unreal- unforgettable. Worth every penny. The food was great- my advice is go: relax, enjoy the scenery and do what suits you. You will love it!

Chelatna Lake Lodge is a true diamond in the rough. The mountains of Denali and the turquoise lake are the perfect backdrop for an Alaska fishing experience. The highlight of the trip was the helicopter excursion to some of the nearby ridges bordering Denali National Park. Truly mind blowing! Matt and Emily are amazing hosts and I will be back.

We were fortunate to book Chelatna Lake Lodge on short notice. Matt and Emily have a diamond in the rough with this property. Once, we stepped off the float plane we were treated like royalty and the entire staff could not be kinder. My favorite part of the trip was an afternoon helicopter ride up to the most amazing views of the peak of Denali and the glaciers. While the rest of my party wanted to trek higher, I was able to enjoy a fresh brewed cup of Turkish Coffee, Thanks Indy! The morning coffee delivered to the cabin was a great treat. The boys favorite part of the trip was visiting with the wonderful guides in the evening around the fire, in fact that lasted until 2:30 am, the final evening there. Bri, Grace, Sarah and Hayden were wonderful and the Guides A.J., Brenton, Ty, Mark and Chris could not have been nicer. The fishing was a little slow, through no fault of anyone so we went hiking and able to drink out of glacier fed creeks. I like that fact that we fished with fly rods and it was mostly catch and release. Chef Tom was incredible, breakfasts and dinners were fabulous and the sandwichs he prepared with homemade bread for the shore lunches were very tasty. Thanks Again Matt & Emily! Hope to see you again soon.
